Title: Firefox Download Day 2008 Post by: OatBob on June 17, 2008, 02:34:28 PM Firefox 3 is out today and Mozilla is shooting for a world record for most one-day downloads.

I got the official 3.0 today, and it's not so bad. A couple extensions aren't compatible, but it's not enough to make me continue using the outdated version.

I just tried searching for it on google and it didn't come up with anything, so either that was news that hasn't leaked yet or it was just a rumor. Combined IE still has over 3/4 of the market share and that would be a hard advantage to let go of.
Just for those interested, Chatzilla which can be used for the RFGen chat, is compatible with Firefox 3. ;) Title: Re: Firefox Download Day 2008 Post by: OatBob on June 17, 2008, 11:40:13 PM IE has always had an unfair advantage as it comes pre-installed with Windows OSes. The difference with Opera and Firefox is that users actively seek it out instead of passively letting it fall in their lap.
With that having been said, often when I offer networking help and advice to people, they refer to IE as "the internet", so any other party still has a long way to go to shake that mentality.
