Post by: Tan on June 30, 2008, 11:49:49 AM Awesome vids, I've noticed a huge increase in the popularity of "Black Rifles" in the past few years. There seems to be more AR-15 clones and configs than tactical/home defense Remy 870's!

Post by: Tan on June 30, 2008, 01:40:30 PM Personally I'd go for 5.56/.223 myself, mainly for the versatility of handloading & match grade ammo but also the fact that .223 is easy ammo to find in just about every Mom & Pop hardware store. Plus I like the long range capability of .223, it's a nice change of pace to reach out from 100-200 yards and with the same cartridge, punch paper at 25 or 50 as well as any handgun cal.
I've been drooling over the HK MR223 and MR308's. Civilian versions of the HK416 & 417. I could go on about those 2 all day, though one of them will cost enough for two AR's, one of each cal. Title: Re: Here's what I did Sunday morning... Post by: Funk_Buddy on June 30, 2008, 03:04:53 PM My family has two ARs, but the ammo is too much these days. Even Wolf or other cheap stuff is close to $400 for 1000 rds.
On a side note you can get the trigger pack for a full auto 10/22 for $8500. :o I guess you'd make up the savings in shooting 22 cal @ $12 for 500 rds. ;D My short list of rifles that (realistically) I can/will/want to buy. AR-15 w/ 9mm and 5.56 uppers 10/22 AK-47 variant in 7.62x39mm it's still cheap <$200 for 1000 rds Hand guns. Commander sized .45 S&W M&P .40 compact |
