Title: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: logical123 on August 17, 2008, 11:28:20 AM http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/collection.pl?name=logical123&action=profile&folder=Collection
Not bad, if I do say so myself. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D With the arrival of Fuyukaze's package, I will be at 29 systems!!! No more game buying for a while though... I NEED TO UPGRADE MY TV!!! I'll probably invest $150-300 in a tv, but that will take 1-3 months to get that kind of money. ;) Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! Nice collection! Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: Sirgin on August 17, 2008, 12:41:37 PM Looks great! Add a couple of Games-related posters on the wall to make it complete ;)
You definately need a new TV :P The woofers of those speakers are almost as big as your TV screen :D I reccomend saving up a bit more than $150-300. Maybe until $400-500. Then you can get a (maybe a 26" or even bigger, I'm not sure) HD Ready TV. It'd be a great step up from what you have now and if it has a couple of HDMI ports it's ready for the future aswell!!! Think about it ;) Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: BadEnoughDude on August 17, 2008, 12:50:49 PM $300 will get you a used 27"-36" high-def flat tube TV. Look on Craigslist. They are everywhere.

Looks like your N64 collection is coming along well. Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! I have a flat-tube 27" Sony and I love it to death. I'd have no problems simply upgrading to the 36" HD version of the TV I have now. (Is it a big TV but with a flat screen?)A 36" is huge! Would be awesome though :) Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: BadEnoughDude on August 18, 2008, 11:13:18 AM Um, a flat-tube is just a standard def flat screen TV. It's no different than your standard television other than the fact that it has a flat screen.

It's no different than your standard television other than the fact that it has a flat screen. If I'm not mistaken, the average HD version of a CRT 36" TV weighs anything from 150-250 pounds. You need a hell of an entertainment center to support that plus everything else you'd add beside it. The average SD version of the same TV is on average 50-100 pounds lighter which most entertainment centers can handle. Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Add to that your reciever, DVD/VHS players and game consoles. Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! That's inhuman! :oA little question: Do HD CRT TV's have advantages over their LCD counterparts? (They should, otherwise they would stop making those heavy things I guess) Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: Raence on August 18, 2008, 12:45:42 PM The CRT tubes are considered by many people as having the best picture overall. The does exclude flat televisions because of the way they abuse them.
CRTs generally have a better black level and a much greater viewing angle than a LCD. Sunlight can play a factor which I've seen plasma's work really well in rooms like that. Both CRT and LCD can burn in but it is rather rare this day. Although, I would like to point out a DLP television as another choice., no change of burn in and you get a bigger television for a much lower price. Although its viewing angle is restrictive just like a lcd. They can also have rainbow problems but to each their own. In the end, I'd suggest just going and looking at televisions. Everyone has their own preference. Although remember to take into account the lighting and to play with the picture settings. Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! I may actually ask for only[/i] a new tv, and nothing else for x-mas & birthday. My parents usually spend about $300 or so on stuff including books for b-day and x-mas, so a $250-400 tv is very possible. :) Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! CRTs also have a superior response time (video lag). It really is worthwhile to have an older TV or two sitting around for the older systems. Even better to have a couple Commodore monitors instead. You'll never see Sega Master and NES games look so good as they do on a 1702. Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! It doesn't weigh as much, it looks better, it takes up less room, consumes less power and cannot explode like CRT TV's can. (Seen it happen at my dad's in real life, wasn't an explosion, but his TV started smoking while we were watching!) And about the viewing angle, I never noticed that before. Current day LCD TV's have a viewing angle of like 175°, that should be more than sufficient. Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! My 36" is not something you want to move more than once, but wow, it has a gorgeous picture! The black levels on the Condemned series and Bioshock are a sight to behold- much richer than the LCD I have in the same room. If you have someone to help you move it, grab one!

Is the picture quality so much better that it's worth all the disadvantages it has over LCD?Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: cant-grow-up on November 12, 2008, 05:03:35 PM nice collection...as far a tvs yea get a bigger one for the newer systems but on the older ones stick with smaller no frills stuff. Ive got my 360 hooked up to a hitatchi 56" rear projection HDTV (no burn in after a ton of hours) the ps2/dreamcast/n64 plugged into a vizio 48" LCD and the older systems I run on my little 25" sanyo from who knows when, and it works perfect, tried the genesis on the vizio and while the big screen was cool it didnt look great..just my two cents though

Your collection reminds me of mine a couple years ago. Except for the fact that you have nicer stuff and a larger selection lol Title: Re: NEW GAME ROOM PICS AFTER OUR BASEMENT HAS BEEN WATERPROOFED!!! YAY!!! Post by: Nonner242 on December 16, 2008, 07:55:03 AM Nice collection! I love CRT for any system PS2 and down. Older non Video modded game system look horrible on most if not all HD widescreens IMHO, but LCD HD 1080p for my 360 up looks sweet as hell!
