Title: SNAKE EATER Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on December 11, 2004, 01:09:54 PM Wow I forgot about it, anyone got it yet?

I played the demo for about fifteen minutes, which consisted of a whole bunch of Metal Gear Solid's weak point: REALLY long dialogue about shit like: "All I know how to do is kill. On the battlefield, the only thing that matters is the mission. I'll cry when I'm done killing; bla, blah, blah blah, blah blah......" That went on for fifteen or twenty minutes and I finally got to start killing animals and sneaking past guards. Then I went to dinner, came back, and the demo was back on the main screen. Apparently there is some sort of timer on it. I'll have to give it another shot, but I hope to hell that I can skip through the dialogue easily. Some of it was pretty long, drawn out, and pointless. However, Not a day goes by when I don't see the commercial or my friends bring it up. Looks like the decision to buy it isn't up to me.... ;)
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Lord Nepenthean on December 14, 2004, 09:13:29 AM I bet it is awesome once you get past the extended dialogue that made MGS and moreso MGS2 drag at times. I think I rated (nudge, nudge) MGS a 100% and MGS2 an 80 or 85%. The first one was absolutely amazing... maybe the best game released on PS1. The second one was great, but could have been SO much better had the story not sucked and Raiden not been a fairy. I haven't played the remake of the original, though. Anyone have any thoughts on that one while we're waiting for a verdict on Snake Eater?
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Tynstar on December 14, 2004, 09:15:28 AM I have never played a Metal Gear Solid game. :-/
One of these days I need to play Metal Gear Solid on the PSX. Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Lord Nepenthean on December 14, 2004, 09:16:17 AM It needs to be today. I'm not kidding with you, either. Go get it. Now.
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Tynstar on December 14, 2004, 09:23:20 AM I got the game years ago but never played it. I take that back I think I but it in for about 5 minutes. One of these days.
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Izret101 on December 14, 2004, 11:06:39 AM I haven't played any of them except the NES one for about 10 minutes.
For a possible end game spoiler veiw below. I can't verify if it could or could not be true because i know so little about the MG series. [hidden style=1 title=Hidden Text] I was told that at the end of Snake Eater at the end you find out you are really Big Boss. I don't know who that is or what it has to do with the story line but i pretended to know.[/hidden] Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Tynstar on December 14, 2004, 11:36:08 AM That hidden text box is kinda cool.
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on December 17, 2004, 12:56:51 PM Except it told me what I already assumed too early.
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: Izret101 on December 17, 2004, 05:22:31 PM I still don't really know what it means because i know so little about the series.
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on February 23, 2005, 05:19:37 PM Wow, this game's amazing. Screw writing about it, i'm gonna go play it some more
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: danvx6 on March 04, 2005, 05:57:48 AM just to make sure that someone doesnt hate me for somehow spoiling something:[hidden style=1 title=Hidden Text]I knew that you were really playing as Big Bosswhen in the intro to the demo that it is 1964 or sometime around there. Since I have not played the game I do wonder about how the events in the game tie into ther other MGS games[/hidden]
Title: Re: SNAKE EATER Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on March 06, 2005, 06:14:18 PM Well, buy the game and find out. You shan't be dissapointed. Unless you hate Sneaking Games. Then you're screwed.
