Title: Rattled Earth orbit
Post by: Tynstar on December 28, 2004, 06:23:43 AM
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20041228/wl_asia_afp/asiaquakeusmapshift_041228013319

This story is amazing.

"The northwestern tip of the Indonesian territory of Sumatra may also have shifted to the southwest by around 36 meters (120 feet)"

While 120 feet might not be far for a chunk of land to move that far that quick it is amazing.

A hunk of land mooving that far that quick is MASSIVE.
The techtonic plates only move a few cm a year. Usualy under 5 if i remember correctly.

IO just heard the deths are over 60,000 and they are expecting diseases to cause at least that many more.
I bet more people will still be declared as dead because they might still have lists for "missing" persons.

I finally watched the news this morning, and God damn.  That is just unreal.  The video they found of the first wave that hit is frightening.

The death toll is still rising. Up to 76,000 plus 10,000's of thousands still missing.

The W.H.O. said the number could double do to disease

What is The Who doing talking about death tolls?

But seriously now

In another unrelated article they were saying that right now ther are 2 major flu strains ovcer in Asia and they might combine to form a super strain of flu.
They were saying we haven't had a pandemic since the early 19th century.

If i remember correctly the last one was the flu of 1918. Killed millions and millions of people. I think it may have even been numbers as high as 4 in 10 in the US.

So if that ends up happeneing 100s of thousands are already displaced. And that will just help out the cholera and malaria and such that is going to happen due to all the stagnant water.

It goddamn better not be.
I have to much to do still.

But i know alot of people have been saying that.  But don't worry we still need another Anti-Christ.
Hitler was 2 and supposedly Napolean was the first.

So in the mean time just bunker in and get some folk remedies ready for what could turn out to be like the black plague.
Of course nothing might happen too.
