As we all know, 'the pub' is a lousy name for a subforum on a messageboard. So it has to be changed.

I talked about i with Storm and Izret, and they're both as uncreative as me. So please come up with a good name for this particular forum, so we can put this shame behind us.

To keep the people that also lack creativity entertained is here a picture of a 2 foxes biting each others tails.

Or we could keep with a video game theme and rename all of the forums after things in video games.  For instance, Off Topic becomes The Inn, the Gym becomes the Colisseum, etc.

Or we could go with the good old "Off-Topic" standby.

Mabye Arr had a bad experience in a pub one time and so it being named "The Pub" disturbs him because he can't stop thinking about the bad experience?

Idle Chatter is an accurate description of what goes on here. perhaps if our discussions become more interesting we can have a new name, something more jaunty like "Fanciful Banter". though that sounds a bit light in the loafers.

Also i am getting more use to the new name. I guess it grew on me.

Well, for example, just five minutes before I posted that last one, I had told Kyle about how the unrelated topic thread had turned to 1337 and I mentioned that it was in the pub. Anyway, If I needed to, I could talk about it all the time just to prove that I would need to say it, but I'm too lazy.

Same here. If i am talking to Dan or someonetelling check something out i say "go to The Pub".

Alcohol in general is the worst thing on the face of the planet.  If I had three wishes, one of them would be to make alcohol disappear from the past, present, and future.  Except rubbing alcohol, which I need for cleaning my games.

I drink cold water all day. I can't say I've ever drank hot water though.

But by doing so you would be killing everything on the face of the planet.  In order to rid the world of alcohol, you must rid the world of yeast.  Eventually everything that feeds on yeast will die off, and then everything that feeds on that will die off, until humans are forced to become vegetarians, which would kill most of us off.  Except for California that is.

Oh, and jungle jims wrox.  If only you were allowed to take pictures inside.  And it could be a little closer too, i hate the 50 minute drive out there.

Rather than get rid of yeast (unleavened bread sucks) why not get rid of all the other thngs that make alcohol?

Izret - are you talking about IBC?  And if so, yes they are awesome, at least for root beet, cream soda and black cherry.  Their other offerings are not as good.

Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) is really bad, don't drink it. It is a different chemical, but still from the alcohol family.  (Mind you, this family includes ethenol and methanol.)

And i was reading something about an alcoholic who went into a wicked bad withdrawl and decided it would be a good idea to drink some isopropyl alcohol. (Peroxide is the same thing or similair correct?)

I try to drink as much (if not more) water as I do pop.  I'm not always successful.

You should try their black cherry soda, its heavenly.  But it will leave your teeth purple.  

Hydrogen Peroxide is different but is still used for cleaning.  Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't also used in hospitals for wounds.  I belive it is also used to force vomiting.  

Dunno about cleaning, but hydrogen peroxide can be poured in your ears to release pressure and force them to "pop" when changing altitude.  If you ever fly or go to the mountains, and your ears refuse to pop, this can be very painful.  Hydrogen peroxide can really do the trick.  I've also had to use it once or twice when I got ear infections.

alcohol also makes women more attractive. ever walk into a bar and you could count on one hand how many hot chicks were there? take another look after about 12 beers, you'll be hard pressed to find one you wouldn't take home with you.

And it depends on what you had.  I would agree with you on the cheap stuff, I hate it.  But the good stuff is, well, good.

you have to have standards.

I don't drink a lot but when I do I enjoy a quality beer, not some bland mass market swill like Miller Lite or Budweiser. Most people drink for effect not for flavor.

Actually all of my uncles drink either miller light or bud or bud light.

Not for effect but because they "like the taste". They drink a few times a week but it is only 2-3 unless they are at a party of some sort.

I tell them to man up and drink some real beer.

to me those brands are bland, more so after drinking a lot of the more powerfully flavored beers. stouts, porters, wheat, lambics and such.

Sadly, I find myself drinking nati light or keystone light most of the time because it is what's free.  

When given the choice, I usually go for a lager, but have had my fair share of guinness.

Well, I dont come here for the video game stuff, so when a topic I like/know a lot about comes up, I jump on it.

I actually know a guy who is better at video games when he's drunk.  He will kick your ass at Super Smash Bros.

it's a fermentation process. it's sometimes referred to as wild or spontaneous fermentation. basically the beer is left to cool in the brewhouse, airborn yeasts enter through open windows to attack the sugars in the solution. The beers are sometimes fermented with fruit. Apparently this type of fermentation is only done in the Senne Valley area of Belgium.

Interesting, not sure if I would trust it though.

I think the term is loosely used to refer to any fruit beers. Samual Adams had a cranberry lambic for the holidays a few years ago. I doubt they used this fermentation process.
