Though I was wondering: is the the convention piece going to be the entire podcast, or are there plans to make it a segment in a larger overall production? 'Cuz it's gonna be weird having you guys natter on for just a single, solitary hour. That, and you'll be down a a man. Then again, it's only Crabby...  ;D

That's what we were thinking, Zig.  Episode 15 should be out within a week or so and the TMG segment will most likely be added to Episode 16 as a segment.

Road trip!

Any special time that is better to meet up for everyone? I'm there Saturday/Sunday....gotta love getting sent on a buisness trip to a gaming convention xD

I'm thinking Saturday night. I'll be leaving Sunday before the show is over.

Works for me.  I'm there Thursday-Sunday afternoon.

Awesome, it would be great to see you there! I'm driving farther than that each way, so I'm going to load up on some podcasts to listen to on the way. I think the show ends at 7 on Saturday, so we can meet up after that and head out. Bil and I can try to look around before hand to find a decent place to go.

Wow, driving more than 500 miles one way? Surprised you aren't going to take a quick flight for that price/time.

Sounds about normal.

If you travel at 200mph, you'll be there in about 2 1/2 hours.  Not too bad.

I'm pretty sure the compact I am renting won't quite go 200 mph. Be lucky to go 200 km/h.

That is probably the route i am going to have to go. Get something with high em-pee-gees.

Still not set in stone on my end though. I was reminded that it was fathers day weekend and apparently there was some sort of thing planned for me.

Which is odd since i asked if there was anything going on that weekend before deciding on trying to make it. One would have assumed the response the first time i asked would have been "Fathers day"

Duke/Bil since you guys are going for an extended stay. How bad are hotel/motel rates in that area?

It has been highly suggested by others that i leave friday night since the easiest route dodging NY metropolises and the NJ turnpike and clogged 8 lane highways is ~50 miles longer.

I'm youthful and brash though so i still might make it a one day trip with 10+ hours of driving. I'll need to stock up on java monsters... Might actually be cheaper to rent a room lol

Hotels aren't terribly cheap, and splitting it 3 ways is the only way it makes sense for us. I would guess the farther you get outside the city the better the pricing will be.

There are 4 enterprise near me none have cars available.  :grrr:

I'd rather not take my boat of a car down. Still valiantly trying to finagle getting down there.

I don't blame you on avoiding the gas guzzler. Maybe you could try to see if you could get a dirt cheap last minute flight?

The ultimate oxymoron.

At 4$s a gallon (rounded up a bunch) and 20 MPG (rounded down a bit) for 700 miles of driving (hopefully rounded up) it would still be under 150$s for me to drive.

If i left friday night i wouldn't get there until 11pm-ish. Leaning back towards a stupid long one day trip on saturday. Still need to get my tire replaced though.

Still hoping we see you there. John and I are making the long drive tomorrow, so I feel your pain.

This weekend I'll be at my own convention which I call TooFewGames.

FWIW, the high scores aren't lost when it's unplugged. Solid state high scores FTW. How do I know? I just hooked up my Centipede machine yesterday! Need to repair the trackball - it sometimes isn't tracking left/right movement. It wasn't doing that before the move.  :grrr:

Also, damn you - I just missed the 25,000 on WP the other day.

Based on the pics Russ put up the machine was not solid state. I was just under 90k second place was around 80k the remaining 8 were also me in the 60-80krange trying to reclaim my top spot.

16543 is the table high score so only 4 people today have even managed to make it passed that.

I was using IZR. The guy using DAD was there yesterday. He has improved :)

Izret, FWIW, they probably reset the high scores or their battery isn't working. Mine survived the move, left off for a year and a half, with the score of the previous owner still on it. 110,000...

Ughhh guys I'm so pissed. Went to leave the convention yesterday and some jerk stole my iPod  out of glove box. I have a display like this

Yes they did leave all the games that were right there. So thought that was odd. I guess those are not worth as much as a iPod

Thanks for the thought Bil. One of my employees at the movie theater actually gave me his old 30gb for free so that's holding me over. The stuff I have on eBay ends today so maybe ill just get more games with it. I want Mario Kart 7 still
