As some of you may know I've been slowly inching towards my goal of a complete licensed NES set over the years. I'm finally getting very close to my goal so I thought I'd keep a closer watch on the last few dozen games in case anyone was interested in watching. Here are the last titles I still need to track down:

Indiana Jones The Last Crusade (Ubisoft)

I'll keep an eye out. I've seen W&W 3 a couple times in the wild.

I can knock out a few for you Crabby. Still holding onto a copy of Young Indy for you.

I'll carry that list with me while I'm at the thirfts and flea markets.

Crabby, if you're willing to pay around market price, I can probably nab half that list from the local flea market when my financial situation settles down.

No rush guys. If you find them for a good price I'll happily buy them from you, but things have been trickling into the store so I'm hopeful that I'll see most of these over the next 12 months.

So I've got good news and bad news. Good news is that a couple of my customers helped me out and I can knock off 8 more NES titles from my list. I also had the chance over the last week to audit my NES collection and found I was missing 3 titles: Super Mario Bros, Tetris and 1942.

No Super Mario Bros?  That's how I can tell how much of a collector you are, Crabby.  You glance over three (well, two) of the most common titles.  I tip my hat to you, sir.   Anyways, which variant are you missing?

Hillsfar.  I can't tell you how many hours I played that game in my younger days.  Had to be hundreds of hours.

lol, its not that I overlooked it. I gave it to one of my clients last year and just havn't gotten around to picking it up again. Its just the Super Mario Bros (not SMB/DH or SMB/DH/WCTM) that I still need.

Also got these two in the mail today. Rockin Kats has been a LONG sought after game for me. Very excited to finally have a copy. The Metroid game is one of the last few major variants I've been tracking down.

Absolutely not :)

Even if I had the play time, which I know I wont, I'm not sure there are another 100 games I could beat that quickly. Its going to be slow progress for the foreseeable future.

So no more games that can be beating in one sitting... Bummer. I liked those 100-in-100 blogs.

Maybe it's time to look at another console library. ;)

A friend of mine went on a work trip down to Vancouver and hit some game stores for me while he was away. Ended up bringing these 3 games back for me from my list :)

Came home to a very unexpected surprise yesterday. I was expecting a few packages in the mail, but nothing as small as a single cart. Looks as though my main man Bil hooked me up with a great looking copy of Sqoon!! I was actually doing a bit of window shopping online yesterday and was pretty close to hitting a BIN on a copy. The surprise Sqoon really made my day though. Thanks so much Bil :)

Its a bit sad to think that I'll likely never get a lot of NES games this big again that I don't already have. A very nice guy over at nintendoage that posts as ExplodedHamster gave me a fantastic deal on these games. Really great guy.

Just realized that I had screwed up and forgot about Battleship and Harlem Globtrotters somehow. Added them to the list, but I'm gonna have to triple check it now to make sure I haven't missed anything else.

So Robotcowhand put me in touch with a co-worker of his a while back. After many weeks of negotiating we worked out a deal for a VERY LARGE number of NES games for my store. That last picture was a few of the games that I personally need. Here are a few more from that same lot that Fleach brought with him over the last weekend. I was excited because i had actually seen a copy of Indy around here. Then i realized the one i saw didn't have the ugly UBI logo on it. It stands out enough that i would have remembered it.

I did not find the Piano yet. The cart just kind of ended up at my house so I took it because it was very convenient. I'm only interested in grabbing a Piano if its got all the goodies to go along with it. Dont feel like piecing that one together.

After reading this, I have seen the Taito release version of Indy twice now in my local game stores. It always seems to be that once I see or hear about something for the first time, I start seeing it everywhere. I bet I have seen it other times though, probably skimming over it like any other game because it held no significance to me before.

Mr. Banana helped me knock my second to last title off the list :D

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (ubisoft) as a last title. Interesting. It would be very interesting to hear of anyones last title in a library the size of the NES or bigger. All I can say is, if I ever planned on going for a full set, something tells me I would have an expensive game at the end.

How will you celebrate the full set?

By moving on to the TG16/CD library. lol

I would do it in a heartbeat if my paycheck wasn't shorted this week. Sorry to mislead you. :'(. I was just trying to comment on how "local" doesn't mean as much any more, as a local store can order it from eBay and it's suddenly local.

I'd be happier than most to pass it on to you after helping to fill in some of the gaps in your collection over the past couple years. I could track down a copy locally, but it wouldn't be any cheaper. :'(

Technically, it would be local once Shadow does that.  It *WOULD BE* in his collection once it arrives at his doorstep.

He would still have to ship it to me. I'm really hoping to interact face to face with the person I'm getting it from.

While I would be happy to take a trip over to the Vancouver studio and make the long drive over to you, I don't think it's in the cards right now. ;)

If you do make a trip the Vancouver studio let me know. I've already got a couple reasons to head down that way, could always use a third ;)

Canadian roadtrip! Actually, I do have a reason for visiting Vancouver, though I will need to clear it with that particular team and management. Won't be anytime soon due to release schedules though.

Give me as much notice as possible (2 months would be ideal) and I can likely make it down there.

Congrats but now you need the unlicensed stuff.

I've got about half of it right now. I'll keep plugging away as the opportunities arise, but unlicensed won't be a priority and there are about 5-6 of them I doubt I'll ever own.

CONGRATS!!!

While it may be over, the memories and friendship will last a lifetime.

I'm down to 4 licensed games remaining and I know that Duke is close as well (not sure of this count, but I know it's in the single digits). Our games are the pricey ones unfortunately, so it may be slow going. If I can take out at least 1 per year, I'll be happy. :)

Myriad, all 3 Panesian games and Racermate II I couldn't see myself going for......unless they happen to make their way into my store somehow. Just too pricey


TG16 and Virtual Boy are both close behind. Probably followed by Dreamcast.

How much are they? Cheap compared to Stadium Events?

Racermate II is only 250 loose. That doesnt seem bad in the land of NES collecting. Myriad is what 1000-1500? Same for the Panesian?

I remember when I could of bought all 3 Panesian for 900. Dont remember if it was cart only or CIB.

Problem is they are far from neat and organized right now. I stole a lot of my game room shelving for the store so my game room is depressingly unorganized right now :(

@Tynstar - Myriad is at least $1200, the Panesian games are $700+ each and Racermate II is $300+ all loose. Its hard to justify those prices on funny looking carts ;)

Why does how the cart looks factor into the price? If those are the only 5 games you need for a complete NES set you know you want them. :)
