They went up due to an error.There are reports now that Walmart has cancelled all the preorders (https://www.theverge.com/2017/7/26/16040506/walmart-nintendo-snes-classic-mini-console-preorder-cancellations), perhaps due to Nintendo. There are also reports that Nintendo is releasing "Significantly more" (https://www.polygon.com/2017/6/26/15875464/snes-classic-supply-more-units) SNES Classics than the NES Classics (a good thing), but Nintendo also not confirming that they will be even be producing them after the holiday season. (http://www.businessinsider.com/nintendo-mini-snes-availability-2017-6) I get that Nintendo needs to protect themselves, but as a consumer I find these tactics frustrating and tiring. I still plan on going out and trying to find one, but I find the above news disheartening and demoralizing to the point of inaction. Personally I'd rather see the return of those $99 New 3DS Mario systems from last year, but that is just me. Okay. Back into near silence for me.
