This is a megathread for obscure and brand new consoles not yet in the database, instead of having various threads pop up.

Early adopters now have their Google Stadias, so this thing should be added as a new platform.

I was actually going to ask if we can get the Google Stadia added. I received mine a few weeks ago. Thanks Fleabitten!

There are 14 countries supported (all within NA, Western Europe and Scandinavia) however the founder's edition seems to be a single (North American) package. You could slightly future proof by enabling Europe too, because they'll probably get a package with various languages later on.

If adding a new digital storefront it needs to be determined if the games are regionfree (like GoG, steam) or differing by region such as on console downloads.

If I download a game in the UK am I downloading the same files as if I downloaded in the US?

A game streaming service means that no game data is stored on your end. Therefore, Stadia should have only Hardware entries.

Should this even be counted as a separate console? Surely it’s just PC hardware? Just a controller isn’t it??

It comes with a Chromecast, which I wouldn't count as a gaming platform itself.

So what I'm hearing is that we shouldn't add it then? I'm fine with that, because honestly the only hardware that is strictly Stadia to my knowledge is the controller.

Yeah. I wouldn’t add it. People can just add as PC or Mac hardware

Can the Epic Games digital store be added? I've got a bunch of games from their free giveaways that I'd like to add to my collection.

I'll second this.  Need to add the new Xbox Series X/S too

I'll third this. Have had a DualSense controller for a week now and I've seen the HD Camera and 3D Headphones in stores. Series X/S release is imminent (midnight or tomorrow). I'm not getting one, but my PS5 preorder is hopefully getting out in time for Thursday...

Xbox Series and Sony PlayStation 5 have been added. Didn't want them up too far before release as our policy is only to approve released item submissions for the DB.

Can the Panic Playdate be added as a platform?  It has its own full store now, plus games that can be side-loaded.  We have it listed as a single entry for hardware in Stand-Alone Handhelds.  https://play.date/games/
