Title: 2022 Gaming Resolutions
Post by: MetalFRO on December 31, 2021, 01:03:20 PM
I'm not generally a "New Year's Resolutions" kind of guy, but I thought it would be an interesting exercise to think about what I want to accomplish in the coming year, from a gaming standpoint. So here's a quick list of what I think I'd like to actually get done.

  • Beat at least 5 of the Shmup Club games
  • Finish the campaign of at least 4 FPS titles
  • Play and finish the story campaign of at least 1 RPG, possibly Xenoblade Chronicles Remastered
  • Play at least 1 "new to me" game each month, whether I finish it or not
  • Finish 1 game each on these consoles: NES, Genesis, SNES, Game Boy, TurboGrafx, PS1, Saturn
  • Play and review at least 6 Game Boy games

Anyone else have gaming goals for the new year you'd like to achieve?

I really like the idea of gaming resolutions! Here’s my list of what I’d like to accomplish in 2022.

1. Participate and complete all Community Playthroughs.
2. Participate in at least 3 Shmup Club games. (I would say beat but I am terrible at Shmups)
3. Finish 2 games a month from my collection that I have never finished/played.
4. Finish 5 games a month.
5. Finish 4 RPGs this year.
6. Finish 5 NES, SNES, Genesis, and PS1 games this year.

I was just thinking of drafting up a backlog of sorts of 10 games I absolutely must play in 2022. Games that have been on my backlog forever and it's time I finally knock them off! In no specific order:

1. Final Fantasy XII
2. Shadow Hearts
3. Wild Arms
4. Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana
5. Shining Force III
6. The Legend of Dragoon
7. Spider-Man (PS4)
8. Valkyria Chronicles

9. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
10. Golden Sun

I could go on forever, but I'll see about making it through these first!

LOL, this is an appropriately snarky answer, given the magnitude of finishing the NES library the way you did last year :D

No snark intended at all. This is something I'm legitimately excited to do this year

Well hopefully you can manage it, and set aside all the work you did, and just have some fun :)

I hoping to get though at least 10 more games on my Saturn's streaming.  I've been doing it for about 4 years I've finished 205/308 I own.  If I had more time to stream i could get more done.

Let's co-op something next week and cross this goal off of both or our lists
