I'll start this shindig. How about those Japanese sales charts? Is it me, or does the DS print Nintendo Money. 10 million systems sold in Japan, the DS is currently the fastest selling system ever in Japan. Strange, no?

You know, do you think the DS gave Nintendo a wakeup call to the "retro craze" that seems to be happening?  It seems the main buzz around the Wii is being able to play a bunch of old games.  I think people are tired of all the rehashed new stuff/crap.  The DS provides a lot of old-style gaming in 2d games etc...Just a thought of mine. I mean, the Wii and PS3 seem to be going in completely opposite directions as far as price and types of games.  And it seems the Wii has quite a large advantage from what I've seen written by gamers.

I don't know if it necessarily got Nintendo on the "retro craze", but I do think that the DS was the first step in getting Nintendo to go in another direction. Rather than try to go for the greatest everything, why not try to do something completely different? Perhaps it will net you 10 million sales of your handheld in Japan. Do I think the steps Nintendo is taking will lead to good things for the industry? Yes, yes I do. I do think that games are becoming more and more of a rehash of past games, and I think Nintendo genuinely wants to change that, and get developers to do something new. On that note, boy am I looking forward to the Wii.

I couldn't get mine to work, then I realised the code on the cartridge is NES-UM-USA-1. I assume that means it's the American one.

It comes up with the SMB3 stage/curtains then keeps resetting. Is that what happens when you put a game from a different region in the console?

i have a really weird story about a friend who has a problem:  My friend and i were pretty much nintendo fanboys, equally loving both sega and microsft, but hating sony.  now i have no idea what the hell has gotten in to him, but i went to his house yesterday and brought soem gamecube games and wireless controller.  i went there every weekend and played games.  he said "you know what, nintendo sucks.  graphics and gameplay both do" which is strange, he used to love game play and graphics, and thought the gamecube was brilliant.  i then seen boxes of classic games (http://www.rfgeneration.com/forum/index.php?topic=3350.0), that he loved for like 2 weeks, with all of this gamecube and xbox stuff, that he said he was selling on ebay to save up for a PS3 :speechless:.  he said he would of given it to me but "he really needs the money, metal gear solid 4 is PWNAGE!!! (another word he hated a month ago).  this is fricken crazy, me and my other friend sat there and played super smash bros melee, when he was on some damn sony forums bitchin about how stupid we were and convincing us that "sony was the man".  after about an hour me and my other friend just packed up our games and left, after traitor stared talking about how "shiggy (i hate calling him that) and bill gates give eachother oral sex"

For anyone who has played Devil May Cry 3, AKA the hardest game this generation, the game that reviewers gave up on because they couldn't beat the third mission on the easiest mode, this is for them.

er i was being stupid, Yes backwards compatability is really an excellent thing it means years ago that i could play Master System stuff on my Game Gear and have my PSX chipped but not loose the warrenty on my PS2.

I think the virtual arcade on the Wii will be nice too my point was that yes its a nice thing to have bu it does mean that you will buy the newer system and might have the old one lying around not doing much.

As for selling them thanks good so many people do as that means you can get things alot cheaper but when i buy a system for me (as in new and boxed) i will not get rid of it ever.

So apparently at 12:01 Some time zone an embargo will be lifted regarding information pertaining to one of the next-gen consoles. It'll be interesting to see which one it is, and if the news is actually significant.

My Mega Drive is being a knob. I modified it when I got it in about June/July after only briefly testing that it worked.

It turns out there's something wrong with the controls. It's not the pad because it does the same things with all my pads. It can play fine for about twenty minutes but then Button C becomes Start, B becomes C, and A and Start don't do anything.

Wow, pocket monsters is 10 this year, presumably around now. One can only wonder how many millions of copies of a Pokemon title would be sold if it was Online.

I still remember playing Pokemon Blue the summer before freshman year in high school. Seems like such a long time ago, but it was 8 years ago. Sigh.

I resigned my old PS2 to just being a DVD player a year ago because it sort of stopped playing CD games. It wasn't completely dead but I used it as an excuse to get a slim one.

I bought a DVD lens cleaner today and now it works fine. The only game I was really having problems with was Half Life, on a blue CD. Last time I tried, it took about 20 attempts to load before I gave up. It worked first time after I cleaned the lens. I cleaned it a few times, just to be sure.

There were a few other games which went to the boot menu before loading automatically but that has stopped now.

Now I have about £40 that I can use for credit towards a 360.

I just put all my video game displays into my closet.
I had 3 in there and a bunch under my bed and 1 in my trunk(Pkmn Mystery Blue Dungeon, which is still in there).

They take up even less space in their because i can stand them and pack them better.

Now to get my oversized display boxes and counter stands in there.

I keep reading mmorpg as morporg. Hopefully that will annoy some people by making them read it that way as well.

I usually think of it as "more porridge."

I went to Gamestation to check how much credit I could get for some stuff.

All boxed:
PS2 - £45
Xbox - £38
Gamecube - £24

Then I have these, which are estimates on what I could get.
PSOne - £8
N64 - £6
Boxed Mega Drive 2 - £8-10

And about 20 games which should probably get me at least £40.

£170 off a premium Xbox 360 bundle with PGR3 and an extra wireless controller for £280 = £110!

That leaves plenty of money for games.

Right, I went back today and traded in a fat PS2, a Gamecube and 15 games for £125.50.

As I walked in there was someone leaving having traded in a PS2 with the same model number as mine. I asked if he would still take mine and he said "As long as it reads blue discs, and you'll get £40 for it." So he turned it on and then put in a blue disc, waited for it to load... and waited... then as soon as it came up on the menu that there was a blue disc in it, he ejected the disc and tried again! After another long wait, it came up and loaded fine.

He didn't even look in the Gamecube box to check there was one in there, let alone test it.


Now I have to make up £45 to reach my target, which shouldn't be too hard.


Edit: A bunch more stuff today got me £53. I might hold on to my Xbox until I've finished these 2 games, then trade it in for another 360 game when I'm ready. But if I trade it in with those games, I could get a 360, PGR3, an extra wireless controller, and an extra game for £70.

Anyone seen the plug -n- play keychain Atari controller?  It is $15 and plays two games, too pricey for my taste but y'all might want to check it out.  I saw it at barns & nobles.

I picked up Taiko for the first time in several months today (in celebration for finishing the scripts, see I haven't gamed gamed in over a month and a half, been working on the scripts), and I must say please Namco, bring Taiko: Festival Master to North America.

Xbox Live is back up after the maintenance. Nothing's changed, though. I think the changes were for Xbox.com, anyway.

Anyway, a new game store opened near me called Game n' Trade.  They have all the old shit. I am very pleased  ;D

Does anyone think Sega will make another system? I'm a pretty big Sega fan so I'm really hoping on it, but I know it's not likely at this time. I do feel it will happen if a few things happen though.

First of all Sega would have to become one of the top software companies. They are attempting to be number 3 at least. I don't believe this will be too hard for them to achieve, but they do half to make better Sonic games.

Speaking of Sonic games I also think it depends on Sonic and the Secret Ring's sucess. If it goes over well it may take Sonic in a while new direction by the way things are looking. Even though I love the Sonic Adventure games I really didn't need to play as Amy or Big, and this one looks like it's going back to classic high speed Sonic only action. Then maybe Sonic's popularity will increase once again.

I also think it depends on the Wii sucess. The Wii has the potiental to take the gaming industry in a whole new direction, and it very well might. One of the main reasons Sega backed down was because of the fact that they just couldn't take the money loss for each console produced, and more advacned graphics cards are not cheap. But Nintendo is not losing a whole lot, if any, money producing Wii units. Maybe if the Wii keeps going over well companies will focus less on advanced graphics and leave that for PC gaming and the arcades.

Speaking of the arcades, I also feel it would help Sega if arcades made a come back in America. Sega still has strong roots in the arcades and it's easy to see. House of the Dead 4 is one of the greatest light gun games ever, and it would be nice if there would be a Sega console to port it onto. If arcades would become popular again Sega would make more money selling arcade cabinets, which would help them.

So what do you think, will Sega make another console?

I think you have a better chance of seeing an ATARI System or MAC Sytem than a Sega.  Sega just doesn't want to mess with that side of it anymore.

Making systems is not the place to make big money so sticking with the gamews is best, Shame Sega feel the need to throw out yet more and more Sonic games as i cant really tell the diffrence between the last 5 or 6.

Sony Just can't win. MGS Portable Ops launched in Japan last week, and Pokemon Diamond, which two weeks ago sold 2.1 million Units YTD in Japan (and Pearl sold 1.75mil in the same period), sold another 210,000 Units (and Pearl sold 165,000 Units). Meanwhile, MGS Sold an impressive 180,000 Units, but even that was not enough to unseat the behemoth.

The world cares more about furry little magical creatures than badass stealth operatives. We're so falling into a dark age it isn't funny.

I went to target yesterday around 7PM and they had 8 60 GB PS3s sitting in the case, 9 hours after they were probably put out. I thought the demand would have gotten at least a few of them out the door.

Game reviewers for EGM are lame. They keep saying the Wii has bad graphics or last gen graphics. I have news for them NINTENDO DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HAVING NEXT GEN GRAPHICS. GRAPHICS DOESN'T MAKE A  GAME GOOD. GAME PLAY DOES!

EGM isn't the only place to do that. Gamespot is a prime example. Does anyone remember the outrage their 8.8 for Twilight Princess caused? Then to make it worse the GC version scored better!

Yeah a review is an opinion, and people are entitled to them, regardless of how you feel about said opinion.

That being said, I personally would give TP a 9.5, since they were whores and used MIDIs rather than real orchestral music. Everything else was stellar.

It wasn't exactly the 8.8 that they got mad at. It was the reasons it received an 8.8, such as graphics, music, and the dude who reviewed it was a huge slob who obviously held bias against the Wii due to a video which surfaced of him "playing" Wii sports bashing it because he was trying to play it(bowling) sitting, thus throwing gutters, thus saying the game sucked. There are other reasons, which I don't exactly agree, or disagree with, and I can't say whether or not an 8.8 is good or not considering I haven't played the game, but that would be the info I know.

That does seem a valid reason to dislike the Wii.

the 8.8 just shows you how bogus game ratings are.  had it scored a measly 2 more points, most people wouldve been content with a 9.0.  but how does a game earn those two tiny points?  there is no answer because these scores are pulled out of the ass of the reviewer.  the point of a score is to summarize the content of a review, it is not meant to pit game x vs game y.  you cant take something subjective like a game review, and make it objective by using an eloborate scoring system unless there are clear parameters to how games earn their scores. 

there is a reason movies and albums are not scored with 100 point systems, games should go to a strictly 10 or 5 point rating system

I fail to see why people care.

For what it's worth, Gamespot/CNET usually grades games tougher than most other sites. And every reviewer has their own methods of grading a game, no matter what the scale.

When you look at grading methods objectively, should any game get a 10/10 or 5/5 or 100/100? That would imply perfection, right? Well, imo no game is perfect. And critics giving 10/10 or 5/5 still identify the flaws of a game in their reviews. So, in light of that, why not use a 100 point scale or a 1-10 decimal point scale?

More importantly, though, is the content of the review itself and the ability of the audience to read between the lines to detect the critic's bias. Then, to make a decision of whether or not the review is credible enough to allow one's self to be swayed by it or not when determining to rent/buy/ignore.

My DS Lite hinge is cracked. :( So I spent about fifteen minutes sifting through my receipt box looking for the DS one. It's a good job I keep all my receipts in one place. It's going back to the shop tomorrow where it will hopefully be replaced without any hassle.

I went to Gamestation to get a replacement DS but they didn't have any in stock. The manager used to know me because I went in so often. But I haven't been in for a while, so I expect he's forgotten me. At least he was friendly about it and didn't give a straight "NO!" We had a quick chat about what a great console it is before someone joined the queue behind me, so I let them get on with it.

When I said I bought it in September he said their return policy is usually only 30 days. He told me to try Nintendo and if they wouldn't replace it I could take it back to Gamestation when they get some in stock.

Sounds like a good manager, and a fellow gamer.

alot of the managers in Gamestation are  like that ,shame the staff are always mosher wankers that know sod alland have there crappy music turned up so loud you leave the shop after 2 minutes

There's a Gamestation in town and one on the other side of town. The one in the town centre is run by smacktards. Even the managers are bell ends. Most of the time I go in there, they're busy playing games behind the counter with their backs to me, talking about how shitty customers are. The shop is cupboard sized and dark. I don't like spending much time in there.

The one on the other side of town is a long way, but it's worth the extra drive. The managers know their stuff and I usually chat with them. When I regularly went in there they used to warn me about their retro sales, like a 50p BOGOF on all their loose cartridges and CDs. The general staff are usually a bit moody, though. Relatively friendly, but moody.

I didn't even realise Manhunt 2 hasn't been released here. ??? I just heard it's finally being released on the 31st of October. :o It was given the go-ahead by the BBFC over seven months ago. Not a bad game. I cracked open my still sealed PC copy today that I've had in my backlog for literally years now. Solid game with good voice acting, easy on the system specs.

I downloaded it in Linux to use in Windows later on. I left it over night then this morning the Firefox download manager extension was only showing a file called "error.html" :-\ So I downloaded it again over a few hours and the same thing happened. It turned out I just needed to rename the file to Area51.zip . :D I had a go at installing it in WINE (A Windows emulator for Linux) but it crashed at the loading screen for the installer. Not too surprising seeing as WINE doesn't support a lot of Windows programs.

I'll try it in Windows soon, it's just that I didn't want to reboot into Windows to install it and I was curious to see if it would work in Linux. :)

As far as I know, yes they are legal. GamersHell is mainly for official demos but sometimes publishers promote their games by giving old ones for free. Like Area 51. It could have been made free to promote the newer one, getting people a bit hyped about it.

Having said that, I can't see anything on the GamersHell website about the legalities. >_< There is an EULA at the bottom but it doesn't say specifically about it.

Your definition of "old ass games" is probably different than the license holder's. PC games are no different than Atari 2600 in that regard. Age doesn't suddenly make them freeware and you don't know the future plans of every publisher for the games your downloading. It's still lost revenue to someone somewhere and a lost opportunity for revenue in the future. Take Fallout for example, 11 year old game whose original publisher was in no position to reprint it. Then along comes Bethesda making Fallout 3, and all of a sudden there's interest again and Fallout gets released on GameTap 11 years after it hit stores and several since the last time anyone has seen it in stores.

I'm well versed in the practice of abandonware, but I've seen many cases where an older game gets re-released in a compilation, retro collection or as a GameTap/console download. Unless you know the status of an IP or title specifically from the license holders mouth, your just guessing. Not that your made up rule is legal or would save you in a court of law regardless.

There's no grey area and it isn't a matter of principles. It's plain outright piracy no matter how you try to validate it to yourself or convince others it's OK to do. Your stance on the issue would be stronger if you just admitted it's wrong and did it because you can't find a decent copy, then at least most people would understand even if they didn't agree with your actions.

It's wrong to steal games. Don't try and say it's justified, just do it :P.

It is a matter of principles. The possibilities for downloading games are there, for everyone. (with broadband internet) If I wanted to download Farcry 2, Fallout 3 or any other game, new or old, I could. I consider myself a "true" gamer yet many people from my college have played these new games and I haven't. None of them have actually bought a copy though. It's truly a sad thing. :(

What I'm trying to say is that some people show these developers the respect that they deserve and decide not to download games. Others don't. (And that's what makes it a matter of principles)

I personally see no problem in downloading games (pc not console) that the Developers/Publishers have let the copyrights lapse on, the former copyright holders are not trying to make $$ on the games anymore (hince why they let the copyrights lapse).
There are sites devoted to these games (wont mention names however) and some keep very good track of the licenses and pull the games if a license is say bought or the copyright redrawn. However it is technically still illegal. I myself prefer to have hard copies of games just because it makes me feel like I have and actual collection just like I rather have cds compared to MP3's,plus I enjoy the hunt. It all comes down to a persons personal view on if its truly right or wrong. But like many things a personal view doesnt change its status in the eyes of the law.

Uncharted and Pain were in the bundle. I had Full Auto 2 (sequel to a X360 game I have), Splinter Cell Double Agent and my wife has Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom. These three we've had for several months now. Valkyria Chronicles will be mine as soon as I can find it for less than $69.99 which is ridiculous.

Other than those I mainly got it to play PS1 games as my 'memory card to game ratio' is sorely unbalanced. :P

Considering it was a free download throw-in for two different PS3 bundles, that's not necessarily saying much.

It's an alright game. Simple and shallow but alright for a quick laugh before it gets boring. It's one of those games where you get the base download and a couple items but everything else costs money from characters to levels so I don't know what the rest of the game is like.

Maybe buying it from the PSN yields more content than the freebie vouchers I don't know. But with the freebie version, there isn't enough content there to justify it's price. 1 and a half levels and one character is hardly worth $5-10.


I'll get that for the X360 eventually once it drops down to a more reasonable price. From what I've played it's a good game. Like Excite Truck meets Tony Hawk with a bit of Sega Rally thrown in.

I have to agree with Tondog here, I wasn't a big Burnout fan before playing Paradise, but I think that game is amazing, it's easily my favorite racing game on the 360.

It was funny how he didn't even see the label before saying that. Probably something to do with a geeky looking young male with a big box walking into a courier that only deals with large business orders.

I got my Xbox 360 back today. :D I got home from work at 4:05pm, said hello to everyone then the UPS van pulled up outside the house. The report says they've fixed the motherboard (red light problem) and the DVD drive (I assume because it was sticking. When I tried to open it, I had to wiggle it a bit to get it out). I had taken the face plate off before sending it, and they've put a new one on. I was hoping for that because the old one has some broken springs, so the flaps don't close properly. It's the same console I had before.

I'm going to test it now. But I already have a problem. I bought it on Friday the 13th of October 2006, it died on Friday the 13th of February 2009, and now it's taken them 13 days to get it back to me from the day I sent it off. I'm not superstitious, but that's bugging me a bit.

i dont know if anyone's touched on this recently but has any other company besides Nintendo have a "seal of quality" or anything like that? seriously, when i buy a new game i am now asked if i'd like to pay an extra dollar for "gameguard". i suspect either (store) greed tactics or a falling out between retail outlets and manufacturers. when i decline the gameguard, i get an attitude from the sales guy/chick and i find myself arguing about the concept of customer service and such and that 60$ plus tax of enough of my money. it may not seem like alot of money but a dollar is a dollar and why should one pay for something that was granted only 10-15 years earlier? apparently many people paid anyways

While the Nintendo Seal of Quality is a standard by which they guarantee the software is compatible with your Nintendo hardware, it has no bearing on software quality or factory defects. All it means is that a game with that seal is guaranteed able to be played in the hardware it's advertised for.

Gameguard is a warranty in which they'll replace your copy should something happen to it physically, similar to a hardware warranty you'd buy for anything else. Whether it's a good deal or not depends on how you treat your discs, who uses them and the condition in which you bought it in the first place.

well it was to my understanding at the time the nintendo seal was to ensure not only would it play on said system but that also it was a game coded into a complete and competent game. take atari's E.T. for example- it was a slop job. it barely met the criteria to even be called a game. i played it many times when i was young and still doubt that it could be "completed". i'd get trapped in that pit and have to reset but i guess maybe the "seal" was nothing more than a marketing buzzword and eye catcher; something to reassure players that nintendo games had more integrity than the "other" games i guess.

your explaination for the game guard sounds better than what i was told by GameCrazy employees. i was informed that if you bought your brand spanking new game, opened it and found it cracked, scratched, or even if the condition was perfect but failed to work on your system, THEN you could return it for immediate replacement. otherwise, without the gameguard, you'd have to send the disc to the manufacturer. i never got any impression that it covered defects based on how one treated their disc.
remember when people got their halo 3 limited edition copies? a good deal of the discs came off the spindle during shipment thus receiving scratches. i just think it's shady and parasitic to lay the outcome of good customer service based on whether or not one paid the buck or not.

90% of all warranties are bullshit.
Gamegaurd is a waste because when i was working at gamecrazy if there was some problem with the game itself we replaced them on the spot(i never had to do it myself so the problem was rare if it happened at all).

As for Nintendos seal of quality actually look at it.

I use to always assumed the Nintendo & Sega seals of quality referred to the quality of the game itself and it meant they guaranteed a good game.

I think it's so damn sad how i get parents who walk into the pawn shop i work at and get a loan on their children's system and games.
I know of one mother who makes good money working prison security yet, comes in once a week to to either pawn or pick up her son's 120 GB 360. Poor guy doesn't have much of a chance to fill that HD in the slightest.

That's sad. If she makes good money, why would she need to pawn something all the time?

Blows the money on something else knowing she can always loan out that 360 for cash.

It's really sad. At least that lady was able to pick up on the 360 loan while others let their children's systems stay in for 2-3 months before redemption.
Sometimes I question the morality of the nature of the business I work in; although, come to think of it, I get paid crap wages (like everyone else) and manage to pay rent, bills, gas, food, car insurance and feed a cat single handedly, without giving up gaming god-like goodness.

I first installed "PSP Video 9", but that's an ad-infested piece or junk, so I searched for something else and found "SUPER", which is pretty damn stacked with options. I tried converting using the MPEG-4 codec in SUPER, but for some reason my PSP doesn't recognize the files that I ended up with, even though they were MP4 files. Then I tried converting with H.265/AVC and that works perfectly. 480x270 resolution, 1248kbps video and 256kbps audio. A two minute video (original file being an HD video) is still like 20MB, so to save space I'd use lower bitrates.

I can recommend "SUPER" to anyone who is looking to convert videos for the PSP. It can convert just about anything else on the planet as well, but I only used it for the PSP.

Handbrake also works well for converting videos to PSP format. h.264 encoding with stereo at that low of resolution makes them very small. Plus, you can easily queue up a bunch of videos and let them run in a batch.

OMG!!!! A sequel to Rayman Origins has been confirmed.  This is awesome news.  It was probably my GOTY for 2011.

I finally decided to create a Club Nintendo account and register the few Nintendo systems/games I have.

Quick question: how long do the points remain valid after registration? How much time do I have to save up for something I like? I've registered my Wii and DSi XL today, so it's unlikely I'll have this many stars again in the future.


EDIT: Nevermind, I already ordered an Animal Crossing CD. Not exactly fantastic, but atleast it's the best I could get with the points I have. All the better prizes are atleast twice as expensive and I don't see myself getting that many points soon. I still have some points left. Interestingly, I was able to register my Game Boy Player, which I bought off eBay, but none of the GameCube games I have.

Nintendo emailed me about points expiring. I should check into that.

What are you going to do? Ask to trade them for MS points?

To be honest, the Vita looks slick, but..

- I don't like touchscreens, especially on a handheld where you have to touch with your hands...leaving the screen dirty.
- Piano black finish? More fingerprint goodness!
- There haven't been any new games since the launch.
- It's pretty expensive for a handheld, granted so are high-end smartphones (even more so).
- The tiny proprietary memory cards! Why, Sony, why? This is the memory stick all over again, except the memory stick was used for digital cameras back in the day! I was looking at the cards in store and the 32GB one is like €90. Rediculous.
- I read the analog sticks are flimsy and the buttons are absolutely tiny, which is odd as the PSP had good buttons.



Some more unrelated news: EA was voted worst company in the US. Really? Worse than companies that pollute? Worse than companies that make people fat (fastfood)? Worse than companies that rely on child/slave labor? C'mon....the Mass Effect 3 ending overreaction has had its run, let it die already.

3DS has been pretty shitty based on everything i have seen/heard. Granted i don't look to hard since it doesn't interest me.

The eShop games for 3DS are surprisingly good considering nintendo's history with downloads, but otherwise all you're missing without the 3DS is Kid Icarus and Streetpass(If you live in a decent sized city).

Speaking of 3DS, I noticed on nintendo's website that Nintendo has a "Only on" banner for 3DS, like N64 and GC games did. (Coincidently, the purple 3DS is what this is paired with) Maybe we'll start seeing "only on" on 3DS games. There better be good exclusives for 3DS by that time to justify it.

I'm holding out until the 3DSi XL iteration. ;) By that time it'll have an interesting library of games to pick up.

The "surprise" was pretty funny especially since it is way more of a cheap loss than any of the other examples.

Some may remember that I was creating a gameroom in my garage over the last year.  Due to the downtime and the restore the blog disappeared.  The dream is still alive and well.  Spent the last day and a half in the garage moving shelving and organizing 4,000+ games, strat guides, mags, and toys.  The plan has changed and the garage room is going to be the vault/overflow.  I took over the back bedroom and made it the gameroom.  Hope to take some pics this week and upload them.

just tried to play goldeneye with one and two controllers. i just couldnt get used to the controls at all!

And to think those controls were at one point seen as the staple for console FPS games. They feel very weird now, going back. But some people still wish FPS games had Goldeneye controls instead of what today's analog sticks do.

Videogames have taught me that during World War 2 each battle was essentially won by a single man and that no troops would advance regardless of their rank without him first moving forward and clearing a path.

I have also learned that this man was the ultimate super soldier and glowed like neon because he drew the fire/attention of all enemy troops regardless of any allies that may be closer to those enemies.

While playing 999 I've run into a good number of awesome references including the memorable and timeless, "Well excuuuuuuuse me Princess," line that I'm sure we all have some memories about. :D

Why would you even need that thing to tilt up and down for driving games?!! Are all the hills at 90 degree angles?!
Entertaining to watch though, I can imagine flight simulators or space combat games in that.

I think they try to simulate the feeling of being pushed into your seat when accelerating by having the whole contraption tilt. It might feel more realistic when you're in it and actually focussing on the game rather than looking at it. I have to say it still cracks me up how the whole thing wobbles around when he shifts gears.

That is pretty funny.  I would love to see a more practical solution to replicating g-forces, though I'm not sure how it would be done.

On a gaming related note just been sorting though my collection while moving into my games room - its amazing how crap you accumulate over the years, got about 40 games to go into the sale pile.

For those who actually read my posts in the gaming diary and are curios as to why i have played an extraordianary amount of shitty games this year...

It started out with 100 teams comprised of 5 players each at the beginning of the year. Down to 14 teams now with 2 more getting eliminated tomorrow night.

I have really enjoyed being part of it as i have never done anything remotely like it before. It has driven me to play games i never would have and in the process met some people who i also probably would have never talked to otherwise.

The downside is i have skipped out on playing quite a few games i would have really liked to play just to stay in the competition because of the way scoring works.

With only 5 weeks(?) left i am really burnt out but still giving it my all. They have already posted rules for next year but i won't be competing. I wouldn't end up playing to win. And what is the point in joining a competition if your not going to try and win it?

My team was eliminated by 256 points last night.
Nearly immediately after eliminations we put up over1k points lulz.

Placed 11th out of 100 teams. We would have gotten eliminated this week most likely. So it would have been awesome to make it to the top 10 but It has been a LONG haul this year scoring for the competition.

I am celebrating today by playing Halo 4.

There seems to be a new used game store opening up in my town. There hasn't been one here for several years, ever since Game Crazy closed. Well there is a GS but that doesn't really count. But now I'll have a real life independent game store to go to. I don't really know if this will do me much good in the end as I don't normally spend all that much on games. This year I have been somewhat of a high roller though.....Anyways new old game store!

Went to the new old game store today, as they just opened. Bought a couple of games, chatted up the owner and manager and watched the end of SW ep III with them. The owner guy has another store in a nearby town, I've been to that one a couple of times. The prices at these stores are.....healthy.....similar to eBay minus shipping. Selection was good enough, there was an Earthbound there, loose with strategy guide, $260 if I remember right. But there was a good amount of PS1,2 and Xbox games at not too bad of prices.

I'm happy to have a used game store in my town again, and its just down the street from me!

No. That is actually what I was most keeping an eye out for too. It didn't look like they were done setting up the store. I did talk with the owner and it sounds like they get all sorts of stuff in at his other store. He mentioned things like Virtual Boy and Jaguar so I'm sure I'll find Dreamcast and Saturn stuff in the future.

i watched a trailer for it, it doesn't look like what i think of when i think hitman. i'm not too familiar with the series, but i have played a little years ago on ps2, and back then it was definitely a stealth game. now, when i watch the trailer, the voice over lady says "the ultimate experience in stealth gameplay" as the hitman is walking away from an explosion. not really what i would call stealth.

Lack of stealth would have been him staring at the building with a rocket launcher and people taking cover behind vehicles trying and failing to shoot him.

Explosions do not cancel out stealth all by themselves.

Yeah, you could sabotage stuff plenty and not get caught in the last few games. The linearity is what scares me most, the game should be open-ended and let me choose my way or I don't want it.

I was just looking at completed listings on ebay. The Atari homebrew, Halo 2600, I just bought in September for $30 is regularly selling for $150 plus. So that's pretty awesome.

While pulling shit from the top of my closet* i came across what i thought was going to eb another box of games. it turned out to be 1 of the 2 boxes of Hardy Boys books that i have. I got the whole series as a gift when i was 14 or so. If memory serves about 3/4th of them are originals and the rest were re-publishings. Not a single one ever got the cover cracked...

I've been thinking of some ideas to help spread the TurboGrafx love, and wanted to bounce some ideas out there. I have access to professional manufacturing equipment and was thinking about looking into producing a modern TG16/PC Engine like the 3 in 1 systems for the SNES NES and Genesis. Do you think anyone would be interested in such a product or is emulation software the default choice these days?

Someone made an adaptor to use a PS3 controller over bluetooth for smartphones. The screen clips into place just above the controller. It looked pretty good and keeps the screen clear.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is less than a month away.  I can't wait to devote all my free time to it.

I was just going through my collection and I realized I didn't remove a bunch of games from when my house got broken into back in 2006.  For 6 years I've been running with incorrect lists.  It was also kind of demoralizing removing 20+ games from my collection.  Especially ones that I don't think I'm going to be able to replace cheaply, like Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII and Wild Arms 3.

Well, I know I'd get one.  I've always been a Turbo Fan; one of the only folks I know that actually owned a Duo when it was still selling in the States.  TG does have a decent underground community, though of course nothing like Nintendo.  I suppose it all depends on how much the thing would cost and such.

Steam decided to play stupid bastards with my fresh win7 install, so now downloading 400GBs of games.

I'm on unlimited so its not a problem,  but I've only on 14Mb connection so its going to take while. There's some budget deals with caps but usually there only a couple of quid cheaper than unlimited.

I've had a realization this week:  playing games on OSX is just as much a pain in the butt as playing games on a Linux distro.  I got Minecraft up and working for my son and realized that in order to install mods I had to enter command line and edit files!  Digging on the fact that OSX under the hood is basically UNIX.  Makes me feel better about OSX, I can tell you.

Speaking from experience wireless mouses suck the big one for gaming. Never want to have a battery die mid round, and the connection can glitch out right when you don't want it to.

Wired > wireless everyday.

Since like 99% of eBay is stock photos i only recently came across an auction for a MK vs DCU with a Sub Zero art cell included and noted on the cover art.
Happened across another grainy image in someones game lot that looked like it was Liu Kang art cell inluded.

Only about 60 carts to go on my cleaning of my N64 games, then I take pics/ make a video etc. Some of my carts are not in acceptable condition though, I may have to replace about 15-20 of them to truly be happy with everything.

i'm going to have a decent chunk that need replacing once i have a complete set too. i probably won't be too picky about minor things because that would get expensive, but there are probably at least a dozen with irreparable damage to labels and such.

Man is Ubisoft ever paying the price for the recent Rayman Legends announcement.

Couldn't tell by looking at their stock prices.
Rayman legends as a Wii U exclusive stock drops 2 cents the next day and slowly rises over the next few months. Presumably in relation to everything else the company does.
Announce as multiplatform stock jumps 20 cents over night.

What it says to me is they don't have faith in the platform.

Since 19% of Wii U games right now are Ubisoft titles and one of them actually had a system bundle i don't think i am too far off the mark. If they were raking in the cash on WiiU at the moment there would be no reason to delay.

If you check out their facebook page, it has nothing to do with their multiplat announcement. It has to do with their shitty PR handling of the game since day one. You should check it out.The Wii U version is done and ready to ship, yet we have to wait for the ports on 360/PS3...that's bullshit. They throw more salt in the wound by offering a new demo...who cares about a new demo? I want the game I was promised back in fuckin December. And Ubisoft says they have a policy of releasing multiplatform games at the same time, then why weren't the 360/PS3 versions of Assassin's Creed III delayed until the Wii U version released? They want to maximize exposure of their franchises, so I suppose that we should be expecting Wii U versions of Far Cry 3/Splinter Cell: Blacklist/Watchdogs etc. If Ubisoft had of just released the Wii U version when it was first scheduled, I think most of the hate could've been avoided.

Yes i saw that it was already completed for the WiiU that is why i added ^that^. Maybe they want to wait until a multiplatform release so that gaming news sites don't start screaming about how it was a commercial failure and then have sales get hurt on other platforms since people will just assume oh it must be a bad game.

So I'm listening to the latest Retronauts about gaming history and learned that the first Dragon Quest was ported into the MSX.  The first person to comment (four years ago) was extremely happy to have beaten it in Japanese with no help at all, and sought out a possible English version.  Considering just how much of a jump in graphics and animation there was between Dragon Quest and Dragon Warrior, how awesome would it be to make this sort of discovery?

Well, I got done cleaning up all my N64 games.. was thinking about doing my pics, videos etc... then looked at the variants I need and well, I guess I'm gonna try to go for the variants first. At least the cheap ones, idk if I'll look for some of the grey carts, but I can at least get all the player's choice etc. So  may be a little while longer.

i'm still on the fence about whether or not i want to collect the player's choice variants. i'll probably decide after finishing the main collection first.

When I say "that's a great PlayStation game." very few people will think I mean the PS2 or PS3. Why does the Xbox have to be different?

I think it has to do more with people just generalizing the terms.
When i play games on Xbox and happen to be unfortunate to hear people i do not know talking they either play X new release on their Xbox or on their Playstation.

But usually it is just something like "I have Halo 4 on Xbox and Black Ops 2 on Playstation."

There's really know what of knowing when someone says "Xbox" if they mean the original or if they're abbreviating the 360. It's just that common.

I was very close to buying one of those Sharp NES TVs at one point. Local place had it, don't remember how much he wanted (probably too much). It sat there for a year or so before it was gone.

Had to rearrange my MK totes since i hadn't put any of this years purchases in them yet.
I decided to pop my Mortal Kombat Sega CD "beta" into my PC since i can't remember ever having done so.

Files are all from 1994! HUZZAH! At least now i don't have to keep writing "beta" since while it could still be a fake i don't have to think it might be anymore.

fixed my game gear screen! only had to replace 2 capacitors, but i might do the rest anyway at some point. it works great now but then after fixing the screen i noticed the sound is way too quiet and apparently that can be fixed by replacing capacitors too, so i'll be doing that sometime soon.

Interesting to see the 3DS attach rate so low. I would've figured that by now, the 3DS would've been closer to the DS. If that's the attach rate Nintendo's going to expect from the 3DS/WiiU, they're going to run into problems down the line.

Also, I love how you paint a rosy picture when Nintendo missed projections by 50%. Turning a profit and turning a large profit are two completely different things. Is it a complete doom and gloom picture? No, but Nintendo is still struggling. It's like selling an Earthbound cart for $50 vs. $300.

Meh, profit is profit and analysis in the end is just wishful thinking that very rarely comes true. I think the lower attach rates is something we'll see as the newer consoles come out. Gone is the day where you must buy a phyiscal game at launch in order to play something, now you can take your system home and download a few cheap games until the next paycheck when you can go get Zelda or Mario.

Another piece of interesting Nintendo news is that Iwata has become CEO of NoA, so now he can actually boss Reggie around with possible repercussions. I've thought for a long time that Nintendo of America was the real weak link of the company and with Iwata taking direct control it only seems like my thoughts have a bit more traction to them.

72 million dollars in profit is gigantic. Especially after the super huge loses they posted last year and the billions they sunk into developement for the WiiU and 3DS.

That will totally give them the money to develop one more new game for one of the systems no one is buying. Since none of the 3rd party support is following through someone has to make games for them right?

Oh they can do wrong, I just mentioned that NoA is a rogue warrior in need of strong leadership and praising Iwata for stepping in himself. The last 5 years have seen me personally buy few Nintendo games and systems (I'm never an early adopter though). But, I still want to see them do well and I have been seeing that outside of some chinks in their armor. Some of NoA's game localization decisions have been horrific as well and have probably cost the company millions in system and game sales.

Op Rainfall gave one last gasp of breath for a system that was already dying, and putting some more oomph behind the releases could have helped the overall company out even more.

It just seems to me the died hard Nintendo people are from the NES days and that was a few years ago.

i'll support nintendo as long as they keep making great games, but i definitely haven't been buying as much nintendo as i used to.

I get to listen to a lot of podcasts during work. There are some I download every episode and some only when the topic looks good. One show that I have in an rss feed which up until the latest episode I have only downloaded once or twice is, This Week in Law on TWiT.tv

You may have heard about some ad revenue redirecting hoopla on "Let's Play" videos by Nintendo. This Week in Law, episode 212 talks about it from a lawyer-y point of view.

There is nothing earth shattering revealed but you do get to hear the discussion from lawyer type people. Maybe some new ideas to mull over if you are wondering about this news story.

I work for a super secret group which has worldwide ambitions. We have our fingers in all forms of internet media. I am part of the podcast division. My job is to make sure podcasters are conforming.

The pay is really good and there are cookies.

With ~270 finished arcade titles i took the #20 spot on the leaderboards at TA for completed arcade games.
~40 more will put me into top 10
~80 for 5th
~100 for 4th
~135 for 3rd
~180 for 2nd
~200 for 1st

The spacing gets pretty ridiculous plus now i am starting to work into the moving target area of people who in some cases exclusively play "arcade" games and get things before the general public and generally have a leg up on the rest of the competiton.

Bought my first PS Vita game (Persona 4 Golden) to find no manual.  Asked the sales attendant three times if that was meant to be the case.  Even with corroborative evidence I still don't truly believe him.

I had grabbed some game recently(cant remember what) and it didn't even have that token 1 piece of paper manual that told you to go to this website to see the manual.

Just used regular paper. Put packing tape on both sides And glued it with rubber cement. I would like to get a cutter that cuts the small rounded edges. Also I had to use to strips of packing tape because it was not wide enough

I work at an animal pound on weekends.

If an animal needs a name I try to make it a video game character, and try to relate it to the animal's traits.

About a month ago we had a nice polydactyl (extra thumbs) female tabby so I named her Aegis (Persona 3).

Last weekend we got a female fox hound so naturally I named her Meryl.

On the plus side i have not seen any Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition variants for PS3 or 360... yet. I am really hoping Canada/Mexico doesn't surprise me.

I once had a well respected college professor (by me) tell me that there was no way that anyone could just watch all the movies, and should just concentrate on the ones that have merit.  Personally I've always though him full of horse manure.  However, I think that this applies to games.  I look at all the movies that I want to see (regardless of merit) and I know that I'll get there when I want; I look at my gaming collection (much less the games I want to play) and I think that I'll likely die before I play everything I want.  This saddens me more than I care to admit (well, cared).  Maybe I'll have more time when the kids get older, but now I barely squeak by on two or three missions a night in Saints Row: The Third.  Thinking about all the RPGs I have (and want) that remain unplayed, and all masses of 8-bit micro games, DOS/Tandy games, C64 games, console games that I don't own...

Sorry for bringing things down, but I spent too much time in the can today at work (and thus too much time to think).

my sister asked me to watch her 2 1/2 year old daughter for half an hour, i let her pick out an nes game to play. she picked Top Gun, and was doing pretty good at shooting down the other planes! then she wanted to try nintendogs again, apparently she remembered it from last time (where it made her sad for the puppies being stuck inside the DS lol). she seemed to like it this time.

Just finished watching some of the GTAV stuff.  Pretty impressive.  Is it enough to get the GTAIV taste out of my mouth?  Who knows.  Actually as long as they make the driving fun again I'm pretty much on board, but it will have to be on console though.  There is no way my machine is going to run what I saw at more than 5FPS.

My aunt has a vectrex kicking around somewhere in her house.I was pricing out some stuff for her to possibly sell on eBay today and she mentioned the "videogame TV box" she had i haven't gotten to take a look at it yet but it may be a prototype unit. Ages ago she was with a guy who worked at Milton Bradley.

I doubt it but it would be nice. If i can get it from her for >100 i will be thrilled. Unfortunately if she finds out it may have actual value it will probably sit in her basement or attic or wherever until she decides to try and get rid of it through some means.

I was going to regift Zag his GH Van Halen skin.
But for hahas i listed it on eBay for 99 cents.

It ended up with a substantial number of views on weeks 1 and 2. On week 3 someone asked me what the BIN price was. I told her to put in a bid and save money (since eBay makes you increase price to BIN).

I am happy to report that the Van Halen Gamer Graphix skin is now going to someone who wants it. And it only cost me ~1.50 to get rid of it.

Listening to my Xenogears CD's on the stereo. Game is great but personally I like the OST more. I also enjoyed XB more as a game. Not saying it's better or XG is better. XB had a nice OST but XG I will say has a far better OST IMO and one of the best on PSone. To me the best OST's on PSone are in no real order,Final Fantasy IX,Chrono Cross,Xenogears & Suikoden II.

I just need the Suikoden OST now.

Got the CE in a few days ago from Play-Asia.  The extra goodies are very neat, although I'm missing out on most of it since I cannot read Japanese.  Ditto with the disc copy of the game; the gameplay may say, 'arcade brawler,' but there is much to be missed unless you are playing in a language you can read, and there is more depth to them (especially in the second game) than it first appears.

Even as a physical-copy extremist, (funny, I paid almost as much for my Saturn copy of D&D as I did the PS3 CE, and I can't read it either) I'm going to pick up the English DL when it goes on sale.  Yeah, that last part sounds silly considering how much I've spent on the game already, but I have my limits on spending on digital. :P

I got it free on steam and love it and man  if you like this GET DRAGON's CROWN NOW! It;s a spiritual successor in so many ways. Even little details.

My ps2 was just going through some disc read error nonsense. So I just popped it open, cleaned it out and it works like new.

Preordered kingdom hearts 1.5 hd at best buy cause I had a credit.  Supposed to come with an art book.  Picked it up, didn't see an art book, they told me it was inside the package.  Got home, no art book, called them, they don't know where  the art book is.  I might get a call by Friday but it's not looking good for my KH art book :(

Maybe. I have high hopes but I would at least wait until I hear some reviews. Mostly, I'm concerned about the sound reproduction and how accurate it is compared to the real consoles. If people say it sounds pretty close and there aren't any major flaws they might get my hundred bucks.

On the other hand, I have all the systems this represents, other than the Super Famicom, I'm also interested in the Oculus Rift and might have my wallet distracted by that.

On the other other hand, this really would fit in with my goal of having the majority of my games very easy to go from the shelf to playing on the tv. I really want people to come over, see a game and be able to play it in a minute or two.

Absolutely buying one. Love the versatility, and there's absolutely no way it can look worse than coax/composite/component on a hi-def TV.

Went back to the store after not hearing back from anyone for 3 days, spoke to a manger who actually had a clue and I got my limited edition KH.  Crisis averted.

So I'm pretty stoked after hearing all this talk about GTA5 (though I won't be able to get it until probably mid-next year), from vast amount of improvements over GTA4 to the wonderfully expansive world.  However, I do have some reservations, mainly the characters.  While at this point I have only seen Jim Sterling's GTA5 coverage in his Now Bloody Playing Youtube series as well as the Giant Bomb Quick Look, it's pretty obvious that there is no trace of the (more or less) lighthearted violence and game play that we've come to enjoy in both the previous GTA games as well as Saints Row.  In fact, the characters seem like they are all either raging stereotypes or complete scumbags, neither of which I fancy playing for 40+ hours.  What happened to the left-handed humor that this series was famous for?  Did they see what Volition was doing with Saints Row and just decide to go balls-out with the violence and sadism, Kane and Lynch style?

I would once again like to repeat that I understand that I've had limited exposure to this game, and while I will certainly get an earful from my workmates as well as from podcasts and videos on Youtube, I will not get to sit down and really play it for another eight months or so, and thus my opinion is nothing more than an impression of what I have seen.

Still, first impressions as very powerful and this will likely color what I see for a while regarding this game.  So while I'm ecstatic that Rockstar have finally fixed the driving and shooting, I don't know if I find that a valid trade-off for likable characters.  But then again, who knows.  If anything, Rockstar is well know for their ability to pull the rug out from under out feet regarding story.  Time will tell.

Grand Theft Auto V is skipping PC though correct?

GTA V has not been announced for the PC yet.

Lots of people very much believe it will be on the PC next year though. PCgamer.com has a couple articles talking about the subject. The gist of it is that while it is all speculation, there are some somewhat telling facts and the history of the previous GTA release dates on the consoles vs PC points to a PC release, someday.

What nupoile said.  It'll come out, just like it always does.  Now that it's hit consoles speculation on the PC side will turn from a question of when to a question of how:  physical or digital.  I'm also quite curious to see if the game will stress machines in a traditional manner (by hitting the video card hardest) or how they implemented GTA4 (which was a massive processor hog).

I have heard extremely mixed reviews.

I know plenty of people who were blowing up the internet daily about OMG COMES OUT TONIGHT MIDNIGHT RELEASE FOR ME.
Or how great it was going to be or blah blah blah.

But saw one person already wanted to sell it to someone else, another guy turned it off after 20 minutes to go watch a soccer game, etc , etc
Maybe the people with good stuff to say about it are all still playing it?

I'm in Kingdom Hearts mode.  Playing 1.5HD, Dream Drop Distance, and considering re-starting Birth by Sleep.  Just loving it right now.

Watched a few vids on youtube of the early game and I wouldn't say it's gone Kane and Lynch style. There's even a flip-off/insult button. There's still the funny social commentary. There's still the funny radio.

If you think about it, the playable characters are never that funny. In GTA III he doesn't even speak, in Vice City and San Andreas the main character is pretty bland. I thought Niko was pretty interesting, but even still he was bland compared to his surrounding cast and crew. It's the world of GTA that's entertaining, not the main character.

People are dumb:

No, I do understand what you are saying.  Maybe the whole Kane and Lynch-thing was a bit half-cocked.  Still, there is a change in this game that wasn't there before: In past GTA games the lead characters were (more or less) bland shells surrounded by cartoon characters (though the lead was more fleshed out by GTA4).  The difference is a sense of honor.  Sounds dumb, but think about it: while all the lead characters featured in GTA titles are sociopaths, there is very little cold-blood killing (in cut-scenes).  The true murder and mayhem was always carried out by the gamer controlling the action.  While a friend played I watched one of the characters jump a fence and murder (without provocation) a bunch of people for the mere reason one of them called a greeting.  I'm not judging, just saying there is a noticeable change.

Now I view these games the same as you (and more people, I'd warrant): the world is the real main character of the series.  Personally I can't wait to get my hands on the game and commence on doing my best to break the world and its mechanics, but until I can immerse myself in seeing if I can add superchargers to taco trucks, I can't help but observe (which may be more indicative of where I am getting the videos from).

No.  From what I was observing, I didn't like who the characters appeared to be.  Personally I don't give a fig how well the characters are fleshed out if they are something that I cannot: 1) identify with, or 2) be entertained by.  As time has been ticking away I've spent more time talking to those who are actually playing the game (as opposed to getting canned, non-interactive reactions from Youtube videos) so I'm starting to learn there is more depth to the characters.  No surprise there.  I care more for the world, game mechanics, and radio DJs than the story, so I don't care too much in that arena.  As I told a friend after GTA5 was announced, "As long as they make driving fun again I'll buy the game."  

These posts of mine has been more of a casual observance based primarily on evidence gathered from Youtube (which are pretty much all non-studious, off-the-cuff comments), so I wouldn't look too deep for any meaning.   I'm going to get my kids to bed, make some tomato-basil soup for tomorrow, then audit my 360 games.

Seems like the GTA5 madness sort of passed RFG by? Hardly anyone here talking about it.


Unrelated: I tried adding all my club nintendo points from games I bought in the last year (and more). Games published in 2008-09 had expired codes. :( But I was able to redeem the points of Super Smash Bros. Melee (yes, Melee on the GameCube) which I bought used, hahaha. How Nintendo manages not to deactivate the code on ancient games I have no ide;, yet games 5 years have their codes expired. :P

EDIT: also, the European "star catalog" sucks big time. There's hardly anything worth getting apart from the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack, which I'm still 1600 points away from.

I'm waiting for the unannounced pc version, uh, and a price drop or two. In other words, it'll be all the rage at my house in a year or two.

Ah yes, I've read about the PC assets that were found in the GTA5 app. Completely unsurprising of course. Every GTA game has gone to PC. It'll probably still be a 6 months wait, I guess.



I suppose you're right, but it still looks a bit timid compared with other sites I sometimes frequent. To be honest, I find it a bit annoying how we have the tendency here at RFG to keep posting things in a handful of mega-threads (gaming diary, unrelated thoughts ...) which makes it very hard to keep track of a conversation on a certain topic. Ok, I don't really care about unrelated thoughts, but when it comes to actual games I'd like it more if we had a habit of creating seperate topics for them. Especially for big titles like GTA5. There's little chance for conversations to develop over several days or weeks if the posts are dropped into the void of a 100-page topic.

That's true. We did used to do more game specific threads.

I guess there's just way more games and everyone's more spread out over them than there used to be.

Would your significant other wear this? My wife like things with defined color schemes which this doesn't have so I doubt she'd be into it. Although SMW is one of my favs I'm not sure how I even feel about it, even though the model here wears it well.
