Posted this in the unrelated thoughts thread about midnight. I figured we needed more topics in the Sports forum ;)

WOW!

Just got home from my hockey game and I am amped up

Play-off game, whoever wins moves on to the championship game.

My team was down 6-4 with 1:30 left. I decide that I need to pull myself so we can get an extra skater out there. We score with 40 seconds left.

Now might be a good idea to put myself back in, but I figure it's all or nothing!
With 20 seconds left, the other team gets the puck and put a shot on net. It's wide!!!

The clock is ticking down 8...7.... we get a shot on, but a defenseman knocks it down. One of my guys steals the puck and passes it in front for a one timer with 1.6 seconds left and we SCORE.

Tie game, we went to sudden death overtime and scored within a minute.

What a barn burner!!!!   


 

Needless to say, I am very happy. We get to play our arch rivals next week in the big game.

We played them 2 weeks ago and beat them 9-1 :o
Of course I expect a 1 goal game where it comes right down to the end this time around.

Championship game is tonight at 10:30. We play our arch rivals the "Rolling Stones". Every time we play them, the game pace gets pushed up another notch. I'll be expecting a lot of shots because they have me scouted very well.

I hope to be posting about a victory tomorrow morning ;)

Well, I just got home from the game... And I really should be getting some sleep since I get up for work in 3 1/2 hours, but I am too amped up.

We won 5-2.

Scoring went like this

1 for us.

1 for us.

1 for them (boo)

1 for us

1 for us

1 for us

1 for them ( with about 2 minutes left in the game )


I got run into hard by one of thier players. I thought about punching him in the face, but I didn't want to cost us the game. I was covering the puck, and to be fair to him, the whistle had not blown. So he decided to ram me and try and knock it in. Needless to say I didn't budge an inch. I was on the ground allready, and decided to fall over on him very hard. He got a penalty for running into me on purpose.

We basically controlled the game the whole way. There was a few spots where they had some chances due to our mistakes, but I handled them. I think I faced 25 shots (maybe more).

Anyhow, I think I am going to call it a night.

I finally graduated and got assigned to Fort Drum, NY. This place is god awful! It's been quite a while since I've had a bunch of free time to sit and browse the boards. =)

I also played in my Sunday league game tonight. We won 12-3....

With a little help from NHL All-Star  Ladislav Nagy!  (http://www.nhl.com/players/8466304.html)  ;)

It was really cool actually playing in a game with a current NHL player. Ladislav's sister dates one of the Slovokian players on my team. Nagy was done with the play-offs and he lives in the valley. He will probably play with us next week as well.  8)

Anyhow, I thought it was cool and had to post about it. ;D

The floor is like a greenish blue. It just shows up "more green" in the photo.

I figured you have been lazy like when I have a beard.

We won 6-3 last night, putting us at 5-2 on the season so far. I bounced back after 2 bad games last week with 2 great games in a row. (Sunday and Tuesday)

Just gotta put down the hammer this next week and finish the season up strong. I know we will make the play-offs on Tuesday, but we are in the middle of the pack on Sunday.

Update:

We started 2 seasons since my last post.

Last season, we finished with a 9-1 record. We lost our first game of that season, and went on to win the championship.

This season, we are off to a 3-0 start. Not including the first game from last season, I've pretty much been a human wall in front of the net. 8)

Hopefully we can have another championship season :)

Play-offs are here again. And going into them, we were not playing so hot.
Last night, I brought my "A game". We ended up winning 6-5, and not a singal goal on my was a direct shot. Everything was a pass across to an open man for a 1 timer.

Either way, I told my team that we really need to fix our mistakes if we want to win back to back championships.

*sigh*

Well, my team lost the championship game last night (tuesday). We lost 2-1 in sudden death overtime, with 1.8 seconds left on the clock. I am very dissapointed, as I am the goalie and captain. They scored on a wrap around, and I can't believe I fell for it.

I am not happy with my teams effort, but the other team wanted it more. I played my ass off, and left everything I had on the rink. The difference is that I made 2 mistakes in the game.

We should have been able to score more then 1 goal in regulation  :hmm:

Are you still talking about the Super Bowl?  :laugh:

Just like your RFG Fantasy Football blowing it at the end of the season.
Maybe next year your team will win or maybe they will blow it again.
I guess Ladislav Nagy wasn't on your team this year?
