Title: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on October 03, 2004, 05:19:04 PM
It seems that here in Cincinnati, it's back to the same old Bengals.  Maybe we all got off to a bit of a false start believing in Marvin Lewis.  The 1-3 start to this year's season is frankly unacceptable.  The 8-8 season was big here, but so far it doesn't seem like the team has made any improvements.

Sure, you can say that Palmer is still (essentially) a rookie, but I don't really care.  So is Roethlisburger.  Palmer isn't even that much of a problem anyway.  He's getting way too much criticism.  The offensive line, on the other hand, is disgusting.  They can't protect Palmer, and they can't block for Rudi.  Why, why, why?

Don't even get me started on our 'what's a cornerback?' defense.  Having two rookies at safety isn't helping either, and the linebackers just plain suck.  Teams have been running all over us all year, and that makes passing easy (if necessary at all).

BLAH.  You better shape up, Marvin.  We're sick of crappy football teams in Cincinnati.

oh boy what a shitty game... for the past four weeks.

nep i agree on carson palmer, let him take the snaps, until the O-line gets him about killed.
and speaking of the lines the defensive line is pathetic.  they ought to be ashamed of they way that they play.  maybe there was something to marvin trying to pick up two pro-bowl tackles this off season in daryl garner and sapp.  garner turned out to have a destroyed back and denver just released him.  we had a deal with him (it seemed like before he was even released) until he failed his physical.  but while garner was still in denver we went after sapp.  so we thought that we had garner in the bag and STILL went after sapp.  i guess that the price for sapp got too high so we backed out thinking that we would still get garner.  nontheless, neither of those options panned out and we are stuck with a shitty d-line.

as for the secondary, those two rookies that are playing strong and free saftey are both cornerbacks.  sucks when your team is so banged up that it has to put two rookies on the feild and have them play out of position.  and the LB's arent much better than last year.  just when it looked like nate webster was coming around (week 2 & 3 he had two forced fumbles and a recovery, a deflected pass and lead in tackles) he is knocked out for the season.  that means that rookie caleb miller is starting MLB.  he looked like he was getting caught in traffic today but i think that he will get better as the year plays out.  same thing with the two rookie CB's.

the offense is bad cause the line is hurt.  our center have knee surgery and couldnt go since week 2.  his backup, larry moore, had been hurt since at least the first week of play.  so then you have to get Jerry Fontenot (17 years in the NFL) and have him start with 2 days notice.  levi jones T is coming off a surgery also.  peter warrick is hurt also and didnt even play today.  he is missed cause he really helps take the pressure off chad johnson.  even thought c. johnson was making catches against the ravens in triple coverage.  thats right... TRIPLE COVERAGE!

maybe the bi-week will help out with some injury issues.  help the offense get its timing back.  and help out the rookies know their place better on the defense.

if not, this is a very young team.  even before the injures.  growing pains.  but this is different from  the past 13 years... cause we have a coach with a plan.  someone who is in charge.

we started out last year 1-3 also.  we will have some good games this year.  but i am not thinking about super bowl quite yet.

who-dey

One of the many problems I see ahead is that the schedule just keeps getting harder and harder from here on out.  Fans have sold out  so many home games this year (all of them?), and they want immediate results.  That's kind of unfair, but the way both the offensive and defensive lines have been playing this year is just awful.  Then all of the injuries doesn't help anything.  Having to put rookies in because of injuries is bad enough, but as you said, they're out of position too.  A few weeks ago, they had a cornerback playing safety and a safety playing cornerback.  Where's the logic in that?

One thing that really disturbed me beyond everything I've said and Rick has said already is that the team didn't seem energetic at all today.  I know the game was at Pittsburgh, but still.  If the D plays hungry, they're going to do a lot better.  This wasn't as much of a problem for three of our offensive players, but the rest of the offense was sleeping, so it didn't matter too much.

Oh, and who the heck is #86?  I heard on the radio that the Bengals just picked him up like one or two days previously.  I think he was playing at tight end.  Palmer threw one or two passes to him, but I can't remember if they were caught/dropped/overthrown.

P.S.  Go back to Michigan, Chris Perry.  I still resent that you were our first round pick.  We should have gotten a cornerback, linebacker, or safety instead.  Hell, Chris Gamble would have been a nice choice if he was still available.  That guy could've passed to himself, blocked for himself, kicked the point after the TD he scored, intercept the ball after the kickoff, and run it back for another TD, all while calling the plays from the box.  Stupid Chris Perry.

HA.  Still think Palmer is as good as Roethlisberger, Rick?  Losing to Cleveland that badly is inexcusable.  Ohio football teams are the worst.  The only time one of them wins is when they play another bad Ohio team.

roethlisburger is the flavor of the month right now.  he will stumble, just like any other rookie does.  but the team he is playing on is helping out alot.

Ben will have his bad games, but it's no fluke that he's playing the way he is.  Four rookie starts and four wins a coincidence?  I think not.  That hasn't been done since the early eighties.  He has FAR better numbers than most rookie QB's, including Manning, Couch, Vick, Palmer, etc, etc.  And, if the Browns can destroy us like they did today, Pittsburgh is going to obliterate us when we play them next....  if the Bengals even survive Denver on Monday Night Football next week.

Nope.  It's the same old Bengals still.  They end up occasionally winning a big game here or there, but the next week they have a few bad drives and fart around for 55 minutes.  Then at the end they do a few good things to maybe pull something off, but instead Palmer (once again) makes an idiotic mistake (turnover).  Thank goodness for the Steelers.  (Yup, the Steelers.)

Probably.  There aren't really any teams in Ohio that are nearly as much fun to watch as the Steelers have been this year.  Sure, I'll always stand by my Buckeyes and Bengals, cheering them on and rooting for them no matter what.....  but this year neither team is as exciting to watch as Pittsburgh....  which is frightening for me to say as a Bengals fan.  Ben is just such a class act that he's hard not to like.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals

As long as you dont start liking the browns, then i guess we can let the fact that you are enjoying the steelers slide.  But dont let me catch you again ;-)

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: The Metamorphosing Leon on November 01, 2004, 09:29:22 AM
Don't think I like the steelers. I hate the steelers. I'd rather watch the Bengals get destroyed then root for a yellow, black and white and red and blue and whatever other colors they use, team.
I'll never be a traitor to my teams, i just know lots of people who are.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on November 07, 2004, 12:05:13 PM
Roethlisberger is sooooo good.  6-0 as a rookie starter, something like 70% pass completion, beat two undefeated teams in consecutive weeks.....  It's just unreal.  I was really bummed the game wasn't on here in Cincy, because it would have been a lot of fun to watch him beat the Eagles.

As for the Bengals, - good win, and they have some good stuff to build on.  However, they have to do it again each week, rather than pulling off a win like they did against Denver and then beating themselves like they did against the Titans last week.  I think they've got a lot starting to go for them, and they are certainly a lot more fun to watch than they used to be (even with the poor record), but there's still a long road ahead.

why why why?
all the way up to the saftey i thought we had the game.  palmer killed us.
btw nep, arent you glad that you played favre?  what was it a 4 point difference?

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on November 22, 2004, 03:08:20 PM
4 points, but both of them had awful weeks.  I could have put Carr in and had more than either Farve or Roethlisberger.  Of course I also had Driver (GB) on my bench who scored something like 14 points.  I think the two WR's I had in didn't score that many points combined.  Den might get his seventh straight win this week.  Vinatieri and the NE defense could very well do it.

As for the Bengals, Palmer did indeed kill the game.  He gave up one point less than the entire defense combined.  The defense played an amazing game, but it's too bad they came up short.  ther than Chad Johnson and Jerome Bettis, the entire game was all defense, for both teams.

It wasn't for me.  Of course I'm glad they put all those points on the board and very very glad to see them beat Cleveland, BUT there's no excuse for the defense giving up alomost 50 points.  That's ridiculous.  Palmer's three interceptions didn't help things either.  On the one hand he had a career day, but on the other he kept giving Cleveland free points.  I'm very happy they won, but rather disgusted at how some of the team played.

Hahahaha.  Don't know about the Super Bowl, but that was a good, hard-fought win.  Palmer is definitely improving.  Houshmanzadah (spelled horribly wrong, I'm sure) had his best game of the season easily.  Chad Johnson also had a great game.  They shot themselves in the foot a few times on defense with penalties, and the excessive celebration call was garbage, but it was a pretty good game for the team.  Winning at Baltimore against a good defense like that is no small feat.  Who dey.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on December 13, 2004, 09:25:36 PM
The refs did make a few bad calls (Dillon's "touchdown" was not even close), but there were a lot more problems with the Bengals offense shooting themselves in their own feet.  Having 9 penalties for 75 yards, most of them in a single drive, is just plain dumb.  Three turnovers going the wrong way didn't help too much either.  Before the game, I told my dad, "They can win this if they don't do anything stupid."  I was right.  Too bad they did a lot of stupid things to beat themselves.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Hydrobond on December 14, 2004, 05:42:58 AM
I was kinda hoping that Dillon being on the Pats side would make the Bengals step up and look like a team for once, but apparently I was wrong.  Oh well, there is always next year.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on December 14, 2004, 08:28:45 AM
Well the defense did well, and they contained Dillon too.  I have no real beef with the defense.  Even though New England scored 35 points, it was more the offense's fault, because of turnovers.  Especially at the end of the game, the defense played very well.  I think they held the Patriots twice to three-and-out.  Then the offense got the ball back with another chance to score and instead gave up the ball.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on December 19, 2004, 03:35:43 PM
Man, that game today was AWFUL.  They haven't played a game that horrible in several years.  They truly played like the Bengals team I grew up with.  Let's see...  Go three-and-out after three incomplete passes that were all tipped by defenders.  Then, have a punt blocked and let the other team recover it in the end zone for a TD.  Later, let's have Rudi Johnson run for 25 or 30 yards to give us some hope, only to fumble it at the end of the run.  Then let's not forget Kitna's two fumbles and two interceptions, one of which was run back 60 yards or so for a score.  Disgusting.

The worst part?  I went down to this crapfest in spite of the 0 degree temperature, with wind chills several degrees below zero.  It was no Freezer Bowl by any means (-60 degree windchills in the AFC championship when the Bengals didn't suck), but it was way too cold for them to give Cincinnatians a shitty performance like that.  They didn't deserve a sellout crowd today.

What section were you sitting in?  I was waaaaay at the top towards the river side of the stadium.  Section 347, row 18, seat 11 or 12 I think.  There were a bunch of Bills fans around me and they were pretty bad indeed.  I was there with my dad and younger sisters, and when we left, some of them started cursing at us.  It was just really tacky and pretty immature.  It's not like my 13 year old sister was being disrespectful to them, so they really had no excuse.

I bet you had better seats than we did.  We were right in the path of the wind.  Luckily we at least had the sun for a while.

i cant remember the exact seats but we were in the sun all day long.  so i'm guessing that we were on different sides.  i was way up at the top also.

this weeks game is the one that chad johnson bought tickets for.  15 rows from the field by te tunnel they come in and out of.

he just sent kelly a christmas ordament to work for her, signed... pepto ordament.
(maybe i should be worried?  ;))

at the end of the bills game we were down by the tunnel and she went ape to see him... he was talking to his woman in the stands.  i could have reached down and grabed his face mask he was so close.  anyway, kelly went ape and his girlfriend didnt like that too much, i dont think.  then i had to drag her (kelly) to the car so that she wouldnt follow chad's girlfriend.

thats the lastest on the chad johnson saga.  he's a pretty nice guy.

Sounds like you were probably on level 3 somewhere on the visitors' side too.  You may have been close to us, or you may have been on the other side of the stadium.  Have fun at the game this week, though.  Hopefully they'll play better than they did last week.  I'll probably miss the game though, since I'm going to be in Flint by the time the game starts.  Plus, I'm hoping the Pittsburgh game will be on.

Looks like we got it.  I didn't see the game since I was out of town and it wasn't on TV there, but I'm glad they beat Philly by 28.  Without looking, I'm guessing Philly had their starters out for most of the game to save them for the playoffs.  Even so, a win is a win, and consecutive .500 seasons for the Bengals is certainly a lot better than we've had in a long, long time.  Good for them.  If only they could have been a little less dumb on a few occasions this season, they might be going to the post-season.

I missed the game, but this is just crazy.  I read that there were a lot of injuries yesterday.  Two centers going down in one game is bad.  What is the situation with them and with Palmer?  Will they be 100% next week?

Also, the penalties are reeeeally starting to get on my nerves, despite the fact that they are winning.  They have been averaging over 80 yards of penalties per game I imagine.  Breaking franchise records in that category is not a good thing.

But 4-0?  Wow.  Amazing.

Only down by 6, c'mon Bengals!

Here is a lovely Cincinnati prayer that someone had as an away message:

Our Marvin, who art in Cincy, hallowed be thy team.

Thy season come, Bengals wins will be won, at home, and in Cleveland on October one-seven.

Give us this year our weekly victories, and overlook Chad's penalties, and we will forgive those who are penalized against us (after the game).

Lead us not into the cellar, but deliver us from the playoff drought.

For the city, the team, and the Lombardi are yours, now and forever.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals

20-23 was the spread in las vegas, so this was essentially a tie.  Bengals had it until they fumbled the ball. This game would have been very, very different had TJ Huschmanzadeh (2 point for anyone who can spell his last name) not been injured.  With only one good reciever in, the jaguars could easily double and triple cover him.  If they had had to cover two good recievers, we would have gotten many more touchdowns.  And that whole first kick foul up might have easily cost us the game as well.  4-1 is still fucking awesome for the bungals though.

I can't wait until everyone is healthy again. It's going to be an ass kicking this weekend in Tennessee.

Additionally, Chad Johnson cried after last night's game. So sad, really, I can understand his frustrations in not getting the ball, but does he have to cry about it? I don't think so.

And I bet you did some copying on that spelling Izret.

I couldn't find anything out about Houshmandzadeh's status for next week, but I did read that Roethlisberger will probably be back next week.  That will make a big difference in the game, since the two games the Steelers have lost this year are the one Ben got injured in and the one he did not play in.  Next week's game should be a good one.

For a while there (late 90's) I remember that the only team we could beat consistantly was the steelers.  Now I realize that the Steelers have gotten much better with the new tallent, but so have we.  If it is true what they say about history repeating itself, then I think we will win this game.  It's our turn :-)

Wow, can you tell we have a lot of cinci people on the boards?

I have to agree, it is actually fun to watch the Bengals now, a very welcome relief from the epitamy of awfulness they were just 2 or 3 years back.  The Steelers game should be good, especially since the Bengals only weakness this year seems to be their run defense.

And on a side note, does anybody know what the hell the three diamonds on the steelers emblem stands for?

There is one diamond for every interception that the bengals will make this game.

I had to look this up since I had no idea, but here you go:

Quote
In 1962, Republic Steel of Cleveland approached the Steelers and suggested that they consider the Steelmark, the insignia used by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), as a helmet logo to honor Pittsburgh's steel heritage. The Steelmark logo, a circle enclosing three hypocycloids (diamonds with inward-curving edges) and the word STEEL, was created by U.S. Steel Corp. (now known as USX Corp.) to educate consumers about the importance of steel in their daily lives.

The Steelers liked the idea presented by Republic Steel, despite the fact that the company was located in the city of their bitterest rival, the Cleveland Browns, and proudly sported the new logo on their helmets for the 1962 season. After qualifying that year for their first-ever postseason game, they changed the color of their helmets from gold to solid black, which also served to highlight the new logo they felt had brought them good luck.

One last change occurred to the logo in 1963 when the Steelers petitioned the AISI to allow them to change the word 'Steel' inside the Steelmark to 'Steelers.' The Steelers later added the gold stripe and player numbers and changed the face masks from grey to black, but otherwise the helmet has remained virtually unchanged since 1963.

Regarding T.J, Marvin Lewis said the following yesterday at a press conference:

Quote
Opening comments:
ML: Starting out with the injuries, we'll have three guys that we right now list as questionable. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who is really improving and is testifying to play. Tony Stewart with the back should also be able to work tomorrow, and then Madieu Williams with the shoulder. Madieu is spending a little time, seeing his physician, so we'll see where that comes out. The probable guy will be Rudi Johnson. Other than that, we should be good to go. We'll gain 2 guys today, Steven Vieira and Caleb Miller, off our PUP list. They'll begin their practice time today.

If TJ is put in, even if he doesn't play well, still greatly increases our chances of winning.  If they steelers have to guard two potentially very good recievers , then their defense will be weaker for it.

Our first touchdown so counted. That was a shot in the gut, and could have severly effected our play for the rest of the game.  On the plus side, we are still a young team, and should only get better.

A win is a win, but we have yet to beat a team with a winning record (at the time we played them).  Of all the teams we've beaten, only one has gone above .500 since we played them, and just barely at 4-3.  Next week we play yet another bad team.  I'm glad we're doing what we are, but the Steelers game was very revealing about the team if you ask me.  When we play against really solid teams, we fold (so far).  Hopefully they get their act together for the second half of the season, which should be much more of a challenge.

Great game today.

The people on CBS calling the game were horribly skewed towards the Ravens. It was rediculuous. We didn't need to know that one commentator was wearing a purple tie and purple shirt, and while they were missing two big starters, so were we.

It is a pity that no one in this country gives Cincinnati any respect. Perhaps by the end of this season people will begin to notice.

Indy, bring it on.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals

If we beat Indianapolis I will (along with the rest of the country) have a LOT more respect for the Bengals.  They are no doubt a VAST improvement over Bengals teams of the past, but they have yet to beat a good team this year.  Let's hope the next game changes that trend.

Unfortunately i don't think they will.

Statistically the colts are superior.

If any team were to take them down though it would be nice if it was the Bengals.
But i didn't pick them in my pool and i benched them in the fantasy league so it would be a very bitter sweet win

Whats the deal with the refs!!!!!!!! I've seen three pass interference's on bengals and the one they called against the Bengals was everything but interference. Blind refs cost the game.

I had a strange dream where the bengals ended up winning in the last 10 seconds by a field goal.
I had to check the paper in the morning to make sure i hadn't dreamt it.

What makes it even sranger is i had watched much of the game including the ending 20+ seconds they ticked off the clock while walking around and exchanging pleasentries.

AFC Championship, perhaps, but getting them in the Super Bowl would be rather difficult.

The game was both good and bad.  The Bengals made key mistakes at key times.  There were quite a few single plays that could have changed the outcome of the entire game.  Palmer's interception was a big one.  Take away 3 points from Indy and add 7 for us, and we would have had the W.  Or, what about the penalties?  At one point I think we had 85 yards of penalties vs. Indy's 5.  That is HUGE.  85 yards equals a minimum of 7 points (probably more), especially since it did allow Indianapolis to convert on at least one 3rd down that later led to a touchdown.

They're still acting like a team that wants to win, can win, and should win but doesn't because they are sloppy.  Still, huge improvements over the teams of the past.

I was at the game.  To go up 34-0 and confine Boller to a first-half QB rating of 6.0 is phenomenal.  The crazy thing was at that point Baltimore had nearly equal time of posession.  They only got burned on a few plays, but they sure were big plays, giving up 21 points way too quickly.  Then the offense didn't help things either on two drives there, giving up the ball without a fight (with the exception of T.J.'s fumble, which was an incredible play by Baltimore).

The defense finally played a great half of football in all aspects, but then fell apart - both against the pass and the run.  They need to get their act together.  Perhaps next year we'll get some people up front or a decent linebacker in the draft.  I only wish we could get A.J. Hawk or even Bobby Carpenter.  Too bad some crap team like the Browns will get them first.

Gotta disagree with you there.  Roethlisberger is a class act and an amazing quarterback.  With all of the Terrel Owenses in the league these days, I'm happy to see somebody like Roethlisberger doing so well.  Plus, I was a fan of him when he played at Miami.  The guy is incredible.  I was not happy at all when he went to Pittsburgh at first, but now I can at least watch him play almost every week, since he's in the AFC North.  I wouldn't even mind seeing him beat the Colts.  I'd be glad to see him take away the perfect season from Manning (another class act), and just think of how huge it would be if we beat them next week.

I still can't believe any of us care this much about the Bengals in December.  Awesome.

My dear old dad is a sculptor who for years has been trying to get a job from the Bengals to make a sculpture of Paul Brown. He had a meeting about said sculpture with Ken Blackwell today and, talking about yesterdays game, Blackwell said that saving the field goal for the last second was a mistake. Apparently none of the Bungals were paying attention (which I find hard to believe seeing as how fifty five thousand people were screaming "TIME OUT! "   ) and Houshmanzadah saved the game by noticing the time and at the last second catching the ref's attention.

Better hope that TJ comes back next week, because he left the game yesterday on crutches, which could be a bad sign for your fantasy team.  He has indeed been awesome.

Yeah, the Lions suck.  There were more people at that game in Cinci gear than in Lions gear.

I'm in the Super Bowl for the league I've been in for the last six years.  The guy I'm playing has Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, and Cinci's defense.  No offense, but I hope Cincinnati gets shut out this week.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: Lord Nepenthean on December 22, 2005, 03:23:54 PM
Sorry, but I doubt the Bengals will be shut out this week.  There is of course always a freak chance that they will do everything wrong and the Bills will do everything right, but this is a home game for the Bengals (11-3) against a Bills team (4-10) that is 0-6 on the road this year.  Good luck to your fantasy players, because I think they'll need it with the Bengals going up against yet another less-than-stellar team at home.

Indy also doesn't have their head coach.

Anyway, the Bengals are lame.  They didn't quite get their asses handed to them, but they sure didn't play like they want to win in the playoffs.  Lame.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals
Post by: St0rmTK421 on December 25, 2005, 08:55:08 PM
Indy is also resting all of their starters, so it was basically their second string in the whole game.

The Bengals could afford to lose this one since they already locked in their playoff spot, but this game does hurt.  You want your team to be gaining momentum as you go into the playoffs, not lose to teams you are supposed to beat.  At least this sobers all the fans and the players up to let them realize they are not the best team in the league.  They will have to play almost perfect football if they even want to have a chance at the superbowl, which means no stupid mistakes.

On the plus side, the next game and the all the post-season games are in HDTV and with my new USB HD reciever I got for Christmas, I can't wait to record the games.

Didnt the Dolphins suck ass last year?

Yeah, but then they got Daunte Culpepper. In the preseason at least it seems like he's back to his normal self. After a crappy injury plagued year in Minnesota that is. Throw in a few decent wide receivers like Chambers to connect with and I could see them making the playoffs.

Yeah, that game was just depressing. Should have won. I think that call the ref made on roughing the passer threw away the game for us, and as such the ref should be hanged, drawn, and quartered throughout Cincinnati.

Yes, the officials were on Tampa's side the entire game.
I'm still shocked we only got 13 points the entire game.  We have yet to have a high scoring game and it's starting to worry me.

edit: The 3 and 6 are too close together on the number pad.

we only got 16 points the entire game.
Make that 13 pts unfortunately.

And I'm really surprised they went for the field goal. Graham is a talented kicker, don't get me wrong, but 62 yards in a cross wind? I think they had a better chance with a long bomb to the endzone. Especially with Palmer's arm and Johnson/Houshmandzadeh's hands.

Even though we won, I still have to complain about the refs.

First, with one of the punts we did, the Raven's reciever fumbled the ball, we picked it up and ran it in for a touchdown.  No clue what that wasn't counted, and if it wasn't counted why we still ended up with the ball.

Secondly, there was obvious offensive pass interference on the one Raven's touchdown, which was not reviewable because of the damn two minute drill.

That game should have been 20-0 and should have been our second shut out in a row.   Damn refs.

Oh, and...

The refs were right.  In the rules it states that you cannot advance the ball on a muffed catch.  Therefore, Cinci got the ball at the recovery spot.

Also, it was not pass interference in the end zone at all.  The defender was falling down, and the reciever didn't even push off.

Ok, I don't know about muffed passes, but the pass interference was certainly there.  They replayed it quite a few times, and in every show I could see the Baltimore reciever pushing off of the Bengals player.

At all.  Penalties aren't reviewable.

If there is a call (i.e. a fumble or pass completion) that could be challenged during the game, it can only be reviewed by the official booth when there are 2 minutes left.

I think they need to seriously revise the coach's ability to challenge penalties or lack thereof. We've lost two games because of retarded calls.

Title: Re: Same Old Bengals

The only penalty that is reviewable, I think, is illegal procedure on a kickoff or illegal touch on a punt.

Post by: St0rmTK421 on December 04, 2006, 10:09:43 PM
Yup, can't really see any screendoor on it until you get within a foot of the screen either.  LCDs are just as good if not better than DLP nowadays.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand.  Chiefs and Denver both lost yesterday, so the Bengals are still in the hunt for the wildcard.  I figure a 10-6 season should get them in, which means they can only afford to lose one more game.

As far as front projection goes, I might agree with you.  But if you look at the rear projection sets, DLP seems to blow every other technology out of the water.  I think the more expensive DLP front projectors would blow any LCD out of the water, but I would have to see them first.

We have the potential to be very good.  Last night it seemed like they hadn't been to practice in about three weeks.  Our star recievers couldn't catch the ball when we decided to throw, and we didn't throw nearly enough.
