Just got another Gary Hoey CD. (I've been told "he rocks!!!" Cheesy)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0rAlUqVUAE

Never much cared for artists who do instrumental rock tunes almost exclusively, myself.

Though I'll admit Gary Hoey's cover of Hocus Pocus is better than the original-- at least it doesn't have that g0dd@mned yodeling in it.

One of the few rock instrumentals i dig is Joe Satriani's Hands in the Air:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qlA9D4caXE

I've been to one Gary Hoey and two Satriani concerts, which covers 3/4 of the concerts I've been to. That Satriani song is new to me. Always good to hear more Satch.

Right now practicing french listening to Christophe's Les Marionettes. Love that song.

About current stuff, i just downloaded one particular song that caught my attention while playing SSX (PS3). It's from a band called Forster the People (never heard about them until SSX). I will remember that one when i go skiing next time.

And finally, i love oldies but goodies. Recently i'm listening to a very overlooked band in USA but very appreciated in Brazil, A-ha. People don't make music like this one anymore.

Speaking of a-ha:

While Take On Me was their most notable hit in the US, for my money, The Sun Always Shines on TV was their best tune ever...

I just took a trip back to the 80s, and picked up a few souvenirs during my visit.

I totally dig this particular video, even if I find the front man's misaligned eyeballs a little off-putting. (I know he can't help it, but still...):

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/swQi4CAzmrA&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/swQi4CAzmrA&rel=0</a>

Then there's the full, non-radio-edit version of Wang Chung's Everybody have Fun Tonight, where a most important question is asked dring the bridge:

Can you tell me what a Wang Chung is?

And who could forget Toto? This tune just grabs me for some reason...

The Sun always shine on TV is great. It's too bad US didn't give A-ha some love, they became known as a one hit wonder band. So unfair.

Toto...when i hear about him everything i can remember is Afrika. I can't stand this song anymore.

I was scrolling down listening to the music as I went. Before I got to Toto, when I was at the Men at Work one, I was thinking, "Oh! I need to put up that Toto song!" haha. Sorry raffa1985.

This live version is pretty good though, made me rethink the band:

Def leppard and some 16-bit game music.

Howzabout the best of both worlds, then:

Okay, okay-- so it's only 8-Bit. Just chill, willya?

And people call me anal-retentive...

Speaking of A-Ha's Take on Me, I always enjoyed the extended version, with a slightly longer intro and bridge:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQcfnsY7DXc

Then there's Reel Big Fish's rendition (I think the genre's referred to ask "SKA"):
