Crossing off a few more NES games thanks to a good deal online. The retailer described Pyramid as being in 'good' condition, though there's noticable scuffing in the middle of the label. I'm really not sure how much of a fuss I feel like making about this. I also picked up a few cheap N64 games, as I'm contemplating going for a complete set.

Neat! Good to see a bunch of NES games.
I could have put this in the "What games did you get this holiday season?" thread I guess, but oh well.
We all get these candy/video game things as gifts I bet. This one I really like.
Wife and I gave each other a game for Christmas. They're small publisher, niche games, you've probably never heard of them.
Won this on ebay for something less than $10 shipped. Now I'm down to only needing 4 Odyssey^2 games for the complete US set. (The ones I need are Atlantis, Killer Bees, Nimble Numbers Ned and Power Lords)
This game is sealed. As far as I know this is how they came from the factory. Probably the least sealed sealed games ever. I'm going to open it.

I was mostly shopping for others this week, but when the holiday was finished it brought in some great finds.
The only thrift store stop this week brought a few good ones.
The Tiger handheld is Vindicators ($2), I need to pull out the Army sewing kit for Mario ($2), and the Shinobi GG cart is on my FS/FT list.
I was on a mission across town on Wednesday night (see final pic) so I walked into the Play n Trade while there and found that they were clearing some stock so ALL PS2 and regular XBox games were 10 for $30. I was able to pick up some wanted titles for a great price of $3 each.
And I found a hardbound guide for a game that I'm looking forward to starting for $6.
While I was standing there, talking to the guys, a box of retro walked in. Most was flipped through the store to me - a profit to them but great for me.
GameCube Mario Party 7 Bonus Set complete+. Attached to the GC was the Game Boy Player. EDIT: Paid $15 says the receipt.
The PnT guys pretty much sell me any NES game at a 2 for 1 price. TMNT III is listed on my FS/FT. Tennis was free. The manuals were all free (and in next pic), since some of the workers tend to toss them as 'not worth keeping' trade-ins.
All NES sleeves were free. They don't keep those either. And the GBA SP CIB and accessories were free due to screen issues. Another project.
A stop at another shop I don't promote, but SOMETIMES...
The Time Crisis and Gun set was $10. Finally, a PS1 light gun! I look forward to putting the Genesis Megafire controller to use.
I should post this on the hot deals forum, but when I stopped at Fred Meyer tonight I found that they had a sale. Buy $40 in games and get a $10 gift card; $70 and get a $20 gift card; $100 gets you a $30 gift card. So it was time for me to grab a couple of AC's. My 65? year old uncle wanted me to try them out. <- Same uncle that is mentioned playing Pac Man in 1982 with Mom in my profile description.
And finally, my mission this week. I returned to a hobby that I hadn't really delved into since I was in Jr High. Marvel killed Peter Parker with the final issue of The Amazing Spider-Man.
How will this affect other media? Games? Movies?

I sort of gave up serious game collecting this year, but I did participate in my first ever Secret Santa on another VG forum. The one system I still collect everything for is the 2600, so that's what I put on my list, along with a few Wii games. I got Kirby's Epic Yarn and 8 boxed 2600 games (2 of which are sealed, but not for long). I have all of the games, but I'm all about expanding my 2600 boxed games collection. I love them so very much.
If I get mentioned on the next podcast, I look forward to the pronunciation of my username.

but also a piece of cutting-edge technology that's been a bit overdue. More details on this double-development as they come in...
You're finally updating to the Atari 5200?

You'll find out soon enough...

You boys are gross.
Don't you have some game sprite art to make or something?
Prude.
Well that's not very nice. And to think, i was gonna send you Detective Barbie for Playstation. Now I'm just gonna have to send it to demonfox instead.
I'd have been more broken up if you said you were sending some
Skylanders
stuff to him instead of me.

A little late to the party, but here is what we got for my son for X-Mas:
Well if that pick-up doesn't make you father of the year, then nothing will.

You're not even gonna give us so much as a hint?
You're my kinda guy.*
All right, all right-- time to get selfish: over the past couple days I've grabbed the following:
- GBA unit with Japanese
Mario Kart Advance
cart, $11.99
- CIB
Sonic and the Black Knight
for Wii, $3.99: Hey Raze, just chill, willya? I know you really dig Sonic and all, but you really gotta show some restraint.
-
GamePro
226 (July '07), $0.31
- BradyGames
Kingdom Hearts II
strat guide, $2.99: I think this might have been part of one of those limited collector's edition sets that got broken up. The inside of the back cover states that it's "not for resale." If I hadn't seen Sora on the cover, I'd have overlooked it completely.
- CIB
New Pocket Boy No. 8
handheld LCD game, $0.79: Features both Chinese and Japanese script. Taking a wild guess from the illustration on the back of the card, the object of this game is to defend a princess from a fire-breathing dragon, snakes, bat-winged ghosts, and those slime things from
DragonQuest
.
*No homo.

No, Joe Quesada and One More Day killed Peter Parker. This was just them finding the corpse. Yes, I am bitter about that stupid ass story line.
I had nothing to do today so I thought I'd hit a couple of thrifts. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about either.
The first thrift I hit I got:
The Little Mermaid II (PS1) - 2.99
Sharks Tale (PS2) - 2.99
Quantum Redshift (Xbox) sealed - 2.99
All of them are cib.
The second thrift I went to I got:
The 7th Guest (PC) - 3.99
Game Wave system with all cords, 4 controllers, 4 degrees Vols. 1 and 2 and Re-Wind - 19.99
I already had The 7th Guest, but it was just a disc and manual copy. This one is cib along with a making of VHS tape. The last time I went to this thrift they had the Game Wave system as well, but it had the box and it was $25 without any games. I'm not sure what happened to the box, but I can live with trading it for 3 games and a $5 decrease in price.

Weenie Man could have Transformed from the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. But then Capcom would have been sued into oblivion.

What edition is that 7th Guest? The first couple batches had a bug where you couldn't finish the game. Unfortunately, I spent a summer trying to figure a way around that without knowing it was actually broken.
