Hey now,

Decided to do a post-work thrift run off the beaten path today. For some reason, I was feeling lucky. I'm glad I went with my feeling, 'cuz five hours, eleven thrifts, and a third of a tank of gas later...

MILPITAS

Goodwill on Calaveras near I-880:

- CIB Japanese Mah-Jong Fight Club for PSP, $3.99: This might be taking the movie license a bit too far.

Savers near Calaveras and I-680:

- 2 Nintendo Power and 8 GameInformer back issues, $0.29 each

- CIB GameCube titles, $2.99 each:

  - Wario Ware Inc: Mega Party Games

  - Worms Blast

  - Viewtiful Joe

- I got the Mario Kart Double Dash! with bonus demo disc for $1.99 'cuz it only had the demo disc. It's CIB otherwise.

EAST SIDE SAN JOSE

Goodwill on Alum Rock:

- CIB PS1 games, $3.99 each:

  - BattleTanx: Global Assault

  - Mega Man X4

  - Soviet Strike
(Greatest Hits)

Goodwill on Silver Creek and Capitol Expwy. (AKA The Mother Lode)

SNES carts, $2.99 each:

  - Super Mario World

  - Drakkhen

  - Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

  - Secret of Mana

Game Boy carts, $1.99 each:

  - Tetris Plus

  - Bubble Ghost

  - The Final Fantasy Legend

Genesis carts, $2.99 each:

  - Shining in the Darkness

  - Warrior of Rome II

  - P.T.O.: Pacific Theater of Operations

  - Super Hydlide

  - Populous

  - Zany Golf

CIB PS1 games, $1.99 each:

  - Point Blank

  - Shooter: Starfighter Sanvein

HOME STRETCH

Morgan Hill Goodwill: missile Defense 3-D (no manual) for Master System, $1.99

Almaden / Foxworthy Goodwill: TransFormers Optimus Prime Cyber Blaster, $2.49: Combines the best of both worlds: Nerf guns and the Autobots' Main Man!

Parkmoor Savers:

- GameInformer back issue, $0.29

- BradyGames Mega Man Network Transmission strat, $0.99

- Prima Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Collector's Edition strat, $3.99 $2.00

...and there you have it.

Nighters...

Nice Score Duke!

My weekend has also been great - got payment for some items from IXTails and he threw in Spider-Man 2 on Xbox Thanks IX!  Then got a little beauty in the mail from my brothers purchase with eBay Buyer's Credit - A minty (except for the writing) Princess Tomato Replacement Manual for my Boxed NES copy - SWEEETTT!!  SO now I have a Minty CIB Smiley  The short story is I had one around here can't find it and so I decided to hit up my brother and wham! The guy was selling it for $25 or make offer so I decided to make an offer so I did $20.00 and less than 15 minutes later it was all ours! Besides the next on there was in rough shape and the guy wanted $50.00.

Here's the pic!

I wonder if the Super NES How-to-win guide is the most common of the Jeff Rovin series, as I managed to find two in a one-week span. And now you have one... shortly after mentioning my picking up two of them in the latest CollectorCast. It's a small world, indeed...

No scores to report today, myself. I cleaned up so well yesterday, I figure there's not much else out there at the moment.

It's yard sale season again, yay! Of course it started out with me getting beat by an early bird to a house in a huge neighborhood sale that listed "video games and systems". Turned out they had a bunch of SNES and Dreamcast stuff, and the dealer wouldn't take no for an answer. Boo. But I got some other stuff:

Sealed Mario Kart Wii for $5, Xbox bundle for $30. Also not pictured, a Linksys WRT150N router for $5 and a Chumby 8" for $3. Not bad, but it's something. Passed on a really nicely kept Game Boy Pocket at $35 because the price tag was too high. It had two yellow cartridges and neither one was Pokemon Yellow, so I had to pass. Good thing I did, because I found this on the way home, also with a pricetag of $35 (and I was down to $33 left in my wallet):

I didn't even notice Gunstar Heroes when I picked up the box, just the multiple copies of Super Mario 64, but that is an awesome bonus!

Finally warm enough for garage sale season here, but nothing but some sega genesis sports titles. Luckily found a small N64 stash at a thrift. $1.99 for each. Good analog stick on the controller.

Then Sat, a fun geeky family day, both Star wars day (May the 4th (be with you)) and free comic book day. Our local comic shop doesn't participate so the wife and 4 kids and I went the 40 minutes to the next closest participating shop. We each got some free comics and my oldest son and I each got a FCBD IronMan heroclix. We went to Toys R Us next and they let everyone build and take a free Lego Star Wras ship to commemorate the new Yoda show starting on Cartoon Network.

Pile on left were purchased. Many from a well stocked $0.10 box. The pile on the right were the free ones

The free heroclix and free Lego.

Don't forget comixology has a good selection of free comics today is well.

Happy Weekend all!
