Ahh Metroid, how I adore thee.  Apparently, the PC10 version of Metroid is among the harder games to find Sad

Hey everyone! Well today I had some bad news but on the bright side I squeezed time to sit in a line at the post office for 45 minutes and the line didn't budge, so I couldn't get some packages out today. SO my brother decided to go ahead and start hunting earlier without me and we met up half way through.  He spent some money we got for selling some stuff and the rest of his bonus while I spent hardly much because I didn't see anything I really wanted BUT I did take advantage of a Buy X get X at CD Tradepost.

Here's the rundown-
*Half Price Books:
-LOZ manga books x4 - (Not Picture) - $18.00 they are for Engel762
-Kingdom Hearts II Limited Edition Guide - $10.00
-Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring - Xbox - Clearance - $2.00
*Game Central:
-Army Men Sarge's Heroes - PS1 - $5.00 - The only Army Men Game on PS1 we need I do believe is Green Rouge
-Defcon 5 - PS1 - CIB - Long Box - $5.00
*Gamers #1
-Gangster Alley - Atari 2600 - $0.85
-Skeet Shot - Atari 2600 - $0.85
-Warplock - Atari 2600 - $0.85
(those were my purchases at Gamers)
--My brothers were--
-Mega Man Legends - PS1 - CIB MINT!! Black Label - $26.00
-Sword of Berzerk - Dreamcast - CIB MINT - $6.00
-Maken X - Dreamcast - CIB MINT - $2.00
-Crazy Taxi 2 - CIB MINT - $5.00
*CD Tradepost - Buy X Get X Free
-Red Faction 2 - PS2 - CIB - $7.00
-Robo Pt 2 - PS1 - CIB - FREE
-Track and Field - N64 - Cart - $7.00
-Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks - CIB - PS2 - FREE
-Cool Boarders 1 - PS1 - Black Label - CIB - $5.00
-NFL Blitz 2001 - PS1 - CIB - $5.00
-Cool Boarders 3 - CIB Black Label - FREE
-World Wide Soccer - Sega Saturn - CIB - FREE
-Tecmo Classic Arcade - CIB - $4.00
-Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X - CIB - FREE

Well that is all folks no more shopping this weekend sadly work and some serious family stuff.

Here's the pics Enjoy!

Nice 2600 pick ups. Skeet Shoot is terrible, but they are hard to find in good condition like that. Too bad about the marker, but still a great find. Gangster Alley is a fairly scarce title too.

been about a week or so since I posted last. But got some great finds over the week here they are.  Got this stuff from many Goodwill trips I have made this week. I found the classic baseball a few weeks ago which is the 2001 reprint, found the original with the others all in one trip

Hey sorry you got bad news and from what it sounds like difficult family stuff going on. It looks like you got some cool stuff Sword of the Berserk and Maken X for Dreamcast are some cool finds.  I hope you start to see an end or resolution to things that are going, and I am glad to see that you still find a way to enjoy yourself and do some collecting.   Smiley

BTW: I will stop bugging you about your package, I just realized I could be starting to be annoying to you.

A coworker grabbed this stuff for me at a thrift store last night. $12 total. Ironically PSO was the cheapest in the bunch at just a buck and change. They're all CIB and near mint (except FFXII which obviously went through a gamestop or two). I'm actually pretty psyched to play The Punisher, I've heard good things about it.

Ugh, what a crappy week.  Work is horrifically stressful to the point that, if I didn't cause major damage to my picking hand from slamming my desk like I was fighting Dae Han in the final scene of Best of...oh forget it, no one will catch the movie reference.  And then I received some terrible news that will put a huge damper on my small scores.

Stopped at GameStop for only the fourth time since sparking my game collecting hobby.  I heard there was a sale, and I was in the neighborhood (in the work truck).  Is it just me or does any company that can toss their commercials on national channels hire the most inept employees?  Nice guys, but no discussion about any game that they aren't currently selling and they don't even know most of those.  I guess that's what you get with minimum wage retail clerks sometimes.  OK, still venting about the below mention.  I grabbed these in the bargain bin, and I bought a playable Brutal Legend so I can display my signed copy:

And the Cybiko was a steal on eBay.  I needed a second system to connect with my first.  Someone created a Zelda game for the Cybiko, y'all!

Thrift Store finds:

Not much. Some board games for cheap.  Those three Murder puzzle games intrigued me.  Read the story, piece together the puzzle and solve the crime.  Very cool idea that I had never seen, though they seem to date back to my childhood.

So here it is.  I pulled into the Play n Trade, like I do at least once every week.  STORE CLOSING.  INVENTORY CLEARANCE.  WTF!!!  Yes, the owner decided to close shop in his two locations.  They're selling off everything, including the display cases and TVs.  My heart sank.  Yes, the discounts are nice but it's like stealing the watch off your dying uncle that took you fishing every year... and bought you 20 watches.  By the end of the month,no more PnT in town.  There goes my local hook-up for retro.  Now all I have is retail prices at CDWorld.  Shitballs!  I made sure the guys knew that I will get the sign over the Retro section of the store.  Here's what I grabbed before I stop by every couple of days to mourn.

Strat Guides - $1 ea.  Anyone need the Pokemon paper?

Anyone need a Silent Service?  It was free.  Snagged a Gold Zelda DS.  The Sega Game Gear power packs were free.
And I received XBox 360 cardboard to transport my lot.  Jump In.  Chester did just that.

Where to go now?  I guess CDWorld is my only local source of retro after the PnT closes.  Eesh!  The guys are awesome there, but they cannot negotiate or offer discounts...like GameStop. So, I grabbed these.

I'd be interested to hear stories from others that have lost their favorite game store and how you dealt, what store you turned to, and how it affected you.
