Everyone comments so fast I can't really be timely on saying "neat!" and "I like that!" but I've seen some cool things on the last few pages of this thread.

I'm sure we'll talk about it on Friday but what is that?

Fancy cassette deck Wink

Used for saving Family Basic programs, as well as custom made levels from the "programmable" series.

Going to create some Excitebike levels soon?

Just grabbed this on my way home. 99 cents from the Salvation Army. As soon as I test it, it's going in my FS/FT list if anyone's interested.

Grabbed a couple things for $4.00 today:

- Odama (CIB) for GameCube: no, this isn't a game for dyslexics about the U.S. president. Though when I read the back cover blurb about it being "a unique combination of pinball and military wargame," I figured it'd be worth a go. Near as I can tell, the dreaded Odama is like the Katamari's evil twin... or a really douchebaggy third cousin. Now I can finally use my GameCube mic...

- Japanese Penguin Land LCD Duble Play handheld game: I'm not sure if this originally came with an instruction sheet or not. Otherwise, the only real bummer was that I had to shell out eight bucks for a couple button cell batteries so I could see if the think worked or not... which it does, thank God. Not exactly Game-and-Watch pedigree, but what is?

Here are a few more shots of the game and box:

Always been curious about Odama. One of those games that caught my eye, but I guess I just never felt sure enough to make the jump and grab it. How is it?

Odama is a really awesome concept and pretty fun on the early levels. I found the mic wasnt responsive enough when you get a few different commands though and it became more and more frustrating the further you went in the game. I think that someone could do a really wicked game with it if they could work out the voice command issues with it.

I remember a lot of voice command games from that generation having very similar gripes...

Duke, you seem to get a lot of Nintendo stuff. Ever thought about starting a collection?

Nah. I'm sure I'll move on to other things next month.
