It's not the best method of determining the population of an area, but it is just about the most accurate.

It is much better than just using the city population, as city land areas vary greatly.

The same thing happened here earlier today.  Most of it's gone, though.  Kind of dissapointing, since the remnants of the snow always make everything look very dreary and depressing.  I wish it would either snow enough to stay for a couple days (at least) or just rain...but wishing never does anything anyway (especially with the weather).
