I was in the low 60's here yesterday. It was very nice. I think last night at my house it went into the high 40's.

I hate unseasonably hot weather.  It's almost December and it is 65 here.  The heat is pumping in all the buildings, and as a result it is about 90 degrees in my lab right now.  I'b debating going over to one of the chem. labs to step under their emergency shower to cool off.
Bah, it's averaging upper-70s here in Mississippi.
Watashi wa don't like Mississippi desu.
On a completely unrelated note, does anyone want to pay for my A/C bill?

It's not that its hot, its that its unseasonably warm but the buildings heat is still on as though it was 35 or 40 degrees.  The result was a building that felt like it was about 90.

Round numbers suck. The only good number is 42.

I'll rejoice when we have 900 active members.

I made a martini for the first time tonight.  (In celebration of completing a big project.)
I have to say, I was quite impressed.  One would think that something made with 5 parts gin and 1 part dry vermouth (read as 5 parts alcohol, 1 part alcohol) would be absolutely dominated by alcohol, almost undrinkable, but the vermouth did something to the gin to make it not only palatable but down right enjoyable.
Oh, and vermouth tastes really odd on its own.

Cherry? Paper umbrella? Is that how you guys make them over there?
Over here, they are traditionally made with an olive, sometimes a lemon peel.
Mine had nothing, I'm not a fan of olives.
The glass was similar to a normal martini glass, but it had no stem, just a blunt base.
