I just scanned a picture at 1200dpi and it is 399 MB. The scan is 10140 x 13572.

I was scanning it for a friend and this site. I will make it smaller for posting to the site. He said he wasnted a hi res scan. I tried at 2400dpi but when teh scan went to save it failed.
