Woo! my video capture card finally came! the only problem is I can't it the audio to work.  It works fine when I just plug my speakers into the card, but I can't get my computer to record it that way.

Are you sure it's not just a sound card?

Coincidentally, I've been trying to use my camcorder as a video capture card today. It turns out I don't have the right connection to record from a VCR. I have a composite lead for the camcorder going to three RCA but I need an Input/Output SCART adaptor. I only have a bunch of Input adaptors, so I can only send the signal from the camcorder to the TV, not the other way around. I've ordered one from eBay but I'm worried it's going to be some cheap knockoff.

I've been trying to figure out how to get old camcorder video tapes into digital form. I think I know how but the costs just keep piling up. Fucking 50$ cables and shit.

I'm going to be pretty pissed off if math class has the substitute teacher we had Wednesday. I'll be even more ticked off if the class is canceled, given how I would have stayed at school for four hours for now damn reason.

To display Japanese text? It should do that automatically, I think.

Try going to the view menu, character encoding, and seeing what's checked.

I just tried changing the encoding and teh auto detect to Japanese and nothing.

The page I am using to test to see if it works is the Japanese Sonic Team website.

Does it display right in Internet Explorer? Maybe it's a problem with Windows and not FF.

I've ordered one from eBay but I'm worried it's going to be some cheap knockoff.

I was right about that. Undecided It came today and the video doesn't work. I can get sound through the adaptor but no video signal. I've emailed the seller but I've got a feeling I'm not going to get a reply.

It has RCA composite video and an S-Video connection but I don't have any S-Video cables and I don't need it for that anyway.

Edit: Oh, snap! I just glanced at the floor and right before my eyes was an S-Video/RCA converter. It works as well, so it's just the RCA plug on the scart adaptor that's not working. Hmm.
