I'm not having a good day at all.

I left the house at 8am and got to the office at 9am. Did some work until 1pm then was asked if I could go to Canary Wharf in London. "Errrr *remembers last drive in London* Errrrr ok?"

I left at 1pm, got to Canary Wharf, 70 miles away, at 4:15pm. I spent a while driving around looking for the place. Obviously, it's the big skyscraper sticking out of nowhere, but I couldn't find the specific building I wanted. I parked up and asked a security gard where it was and he pointed to the building we were standing by.

So I went to reception and asked about something I was supposed to be collecting. They told me to go to the courier office on the other side of the building. Mmmk. I went down a few flights of stairs with my little trolley to the basement where I was told to go to the loading office. The guy gave directions as if I knew where the place was anyway. I called The Boss and unfairly had a go at him because I was so stressed and pissed off after driving through London for nearly three hours only to end up not able to find the place. I eventually got through to the people I was collecting from and they said "The big roundabout... you want the lower level roundabout".

It was all fairly clear from then on. It was the roundabout I entered the Canary Wharf area on, except it's got an upper and lower level. I was on the upper level, of course. I eventually found it and went up to the 39th floor. There were lots of buttons in the lift! I had my dinky little box trolley with me and it ended up all being ready for me on one of those big ones the supermarkets use for goods.

Job done. Except I had to get home. Through London. At rush hour. Absolute disaster.

I got home at 8:30pm, so I was working for 11 1/2 hours, the last few of which will be time and a half. Around £84 for one day's work. Cheesy Except for the damn tax...

I got home and checked my emails and my bloody PC order has been delayed because the graphics card isn't in stock. It was certainly in stock when I ordered it, and they've taken my money, so they've got no excuse to not send it on time. That's really messed up my week now. I won't be able to take it on Thursday because I'm working and I'm probably working on Friday, so I would have to wait until Monday at least for it to be delivered.

Time to get a new job?

Also, is it time to go home yet?

Isn't it illegal for an online retailer to advertise an item as in stock when it isn't?

I've emailed the Advertising Standards Agency but they probably won't read it for a week anyway.

I've emailed the Advertising Standards Agency
They told me to bugger off and leave them alone. Consumer Direct told me the supplier has 30 days to deliver the goods or I can get my money back and stock statuses could be in their terms as subject to change.

Anyway, my PC has been sent off now. Should come tomorrow. Smiley

They literally told you to bugger off and leave them alone?

If so, that's awesome.

It was more formal, but words to that effect.

it is so weird hearing people from the UK say that someone was made redundant....im so used to hearing "fired" or "laid off".....

ya gotta hate it when a company right-sizes......that is never the solution...companies right size to save money, but something like 75%+ companies that right-size are forced to right-size again a year later.....firing your assets only makes it harder for a company to be more productive.......
