Yeah, but we don't do those here.

edit: Looking at the Isle of Man on maps.google.com is funny.  No roads, but something named Douglas.

edit edit:  This is much more fun that a nested roundabout:

The road that cuts through the roundabout likely has a stupidly high through movement. It appears as though this unconventional roundabout has two lights associated with it.  I've done the preliminary designs for two roundabouts that are definitely getting built, and most of them are rather conventional save for the fact that all alignments are essentially curves or spirals. I'm just happy to know that my initial designs got the county engineer to okay roundabouts on major roads, which will likely be a first in the Cincinnati area. One is programmed to be built next year, provided West Chester doesn't incorporate by then, which is possible.

You culturally insensitive swine, Douglas is the capital of the Isle of Man. Also, that clusterfuck of ramps you call fun is anything but. It's existence pushes the cost of the Brent Spence project much, much higher.

Also, as someone who has designed roundabouts according to the Federal Government's standards, I can say that the Magic Roundabout makes my head explode.

^TraderJake is now an honorary British citizen.

I had seen the magic roundabout before, but I had never seen anything like street going through the roundabout.  On the surface, it looks like it is counter-productive to have a street going right through the roundabout, but I'm sure the designer knew what he was doing.

And it IS fun, Dave.  You get to go fast.

I have a question... what do the squiggly lines mean in Britain? Here, if we want to get your attention, we'll put rumble strips in the road. Those get your attention quick.

I heard somewhere that it makes people think they are going faster than they really are, so they trick you into slowing down.  I've only ever seen them right before an intersection when I look on maps.google.com, so I guess it also signifies that there is stop/intersection coming up soon.

I've noticed that a good way to make drivers slow down is to not have any markings on a road. It's amazing how comforting pavement markings are, especially edge lines. I could be on a road without edge lines and be driving much slower than I would on a road of the same width that has edge lines.

I can drive fast anywhere in any conditions.
I don't understand the laws of engineering so they donot apply to me.

At least until i wipe out or come frighteningly close to doing so.

Ok i totally need to go pass out and sleep the sleepiest sleep i have ever slept.
