I did some more races in Forza 2, and got one or two achievements.
I tried out my new PS2 8" Screen which came today.
It's soo much better than the 5" PSOne screen I had bodged to my PS2. I can actually read text. It's bright but the colours aren't washed out. The sound is a bit crap because they're only small speakers so there's no bass. It's fine through headphones, though. God of War looked great on it.
Then I played GTA: Liberty City Stories but got nowhere. It's a pretty annoying game. The safe house is in the middle of an enemy territory, so every time I walk out the door I get shot. Then I try to do the missions and get killed easily because of the crappy aiming system. Why can't I run and aim at the same time?

Guitar Hero marathon at Den's house last night.
Den set up a screen and projector to play outdoors as well as having his regular living room set up available for everyone to play GH. Most of the time, either one or both always had someone playing it.
Good job Den and Carol!

Max Payne
It's kind of depressing and I don't know why. It could be the low frame rate despite having crap graphics. Or it could be the awkward controls. Or it might even be the setting of a brothel. I'm not really enjoying it.
I tried GTA: Liberty City Stories again but I
still
can't get anywhere further in it. I might have hit another gaming block after getting back into the swing of things over this last week.
At least God of War is still great fun and its graphics are holding up quite well. I'm looking forward to getting the second one during the week.
Edit (30/7/07): I actually got somewhere in GTA: LCS. I want to finish Liberty City before I start on Vice City Stories which came in the post today.

Played some GH2 on the 360.
Beat Hangar 18 on Hard and Monkey Wrench on Expert.
Now I'm stuck on Institutionalized on Hard and Who Was In My Room Last Night? on Expert.
Also played some Texas Hold 'em on PokerStars.net. And some Mahjong & Backgammon on Pogo.

My friend came over to try out the Xbox 360 before making his mind up on a 360 or a PS3.
I beat him a few times on Forza 2.
I beat him a few times on PGR3.
I beat him 17 times on Call of Duty 3. He killed me twice.
We played Gears of War co-op for a while and he got the Dom achievement on my offline profile instead of my main one.
He was absolutely useless at Dead Rising, which is only a little worse than me.
Overall, he's not very good at video games. He's the sort who thinks Burnout is a good racing simulator. While playing Forza he asked if there was a turbo button. "Huh?" "Like in Burnout 3, there's a turbo button."
I suppose I'm just being a gaming snob. I don't consider myself particularly great at games but watching him play makes me feel better.
I'm enjoying GTA: Liberty City Stories now. It's started to move along nicely. I was thinking it would start wrapping up soon but I checked the stats and it only said something like 35-40%. I know a lot of it is taken up by side missions and hidden packages, but there must be a lot of story left.

I'm pretty sure he's going to get a 360 but knowing him he'll end up buying the worst possible PS3 bundle. But he did say he's looking forward to when the Elite comes out next month, which I said is when there
might
be a price cut on the other models.
He got caught up in all the hype about the PS3 being extremely more powerful than the 360 and thought it would be better just because it has better graphics. I've been telling him the graphics will be about the same and the 360 is cheaper.
I'm not an Xbox fanboy but I do prefer it. When I stand up for the PS3 it's only because I'm fed up of all the band wagon cheap shots at what is technically a good bit of kit.
