An odd image I know, but if you've played this game, you know it well.

That's it. Smiley I had an extra repro English cart that I sent to Silver80. I am playing through it now and we hope to maybe do a write up in October.

Ha! Some say that Sweet Home is the original RE and obviously heavily influenced the latter. We'll probably cover this. Smiley

New dungeon game? It looks completely ripped off a Touhou fan game I've seen!
"New dungeon game" - doesn't look like Legend of Dungeon, which came out recently, but would've been a fun answer.

Hint: It was released yesterday and is on Steam. Some call it a rogue like, some call it a gauntlet clone. It looks like it needs to be added to the RF database as well.

Sorry it isn't Dwarf Fortress, and it does look sort of similar to Legend of Dungeon.

Looking back I should have picked a different title. The game is Hammerwatch.

Time for a new screenshot:

Ha you know what's funny? I went on Steam (yes I was gonna cheat) and looked for the game and skipped over Hammerwatch because of the old-school looking logo. I was like "nah, that can't be it." Smiley

Don't forget about Alone in the Dark, the gameplay is the most obvious inspiration the RE designers used.

Tetris Butou Gaiden (Tetris Battle Tale), SFC. It's from Bullet-Proof Software (BPS), though they did a lot of HAL-style games in Japan.
