I have a job interview today. Nothing glamorous - shampooing carpets - but a job is a job. I just need something to hold me over while I look for something better.

I said the same thing three years ago. Good luck on the interview though. I would actually like doing that job.

Good luck indeed.
Jobs are tough to come by :-/
I'm still stuck at KFC (10-13 days a month) and aubrey might be able to get a job thru an aunt (folding laundry 1 day a week to start).
After filling out oodles of applications i'm just glad to have any source of income right now.

Thanks guys. I'm a little nervous about the job itself. The listing had very little information about hours, other than pointing out that it's "steady and full-time." It makes me wonder if the hours are less-than-desirable (second or third shift, or worse yet, rotating..). We'll see. The interview is in less than two hours. I'll let you know how it goes.

So the job I applied for wasn't what I thought it was. The ad made it sound like it was a normal job shampooing carpets. In actuality, it's a six-day-a-week job demoing and trying to sell Kirby's latest carpet shampooer. There is a base pay ($400 a week), with bonuses awarded for performance and reliability.

No thanks. I can already tell it's going to be six long days a week, and the pay will end up being awful for the amount of hours that I'll work.

Thats just over 8 an hour.
Assuming my guesstimate is right

And you will probably get let go if you can't push enough product anyways.

Good luck on the continued search i guess :-/

Oh well there will be better jobs in the future. Meanwhile enjoy your time off.
