Oddly enough, they just had me put my name down on a paper. No cost, which is kind of odd.

Went to a going home/early birthday party for my cuz's girlfriend. Had a good time.

Got some vague details about what is going on with her/my cuz/one of our friends.
It is very likely that i will be visiting at least 1/3 of them in Q1 2013. I am hoping my cuz and friend end up near Tokyo were the GF lives so all 3 of us can get together.

Our Internet got upgraded yesterday. A technician from our ISP came yesterday and switched out our old modem and coax splitter/amplifier for newer ones. We also got two digital TV boxes. We didn't had digital TV until now, because my mom didn't want to pay for it. But starting in June, they'll be taking away a huge amount of channels on analog TV (making them digital only). They're taking away BBC1 and BBC2, which we watch a lot. So as to not lose those, we've switched to digital. The image does look a lot better (no surprise). I hate the damn boxes though. They're bigger than a damn PS2 and have a fan inside. And they're warm to the touch, even in stand-by.

Internet speed with new modem:

We're promised 50mbps down and 2.5 mbps up. I'm glad to see we do get roughly what we pay for.

A beloved uncle of mine was found dead on the bathroom floor by my aunt yesterday.

He was your stereotypical hard-drinkin', Winston-smokin', deep-fried-food-chuggin' redneck, and it looked like his fave activities finally caught up with him.

He also dug NASCAR, ran an automotive repair business, went deer hunting a few times a year,and his son works as a welder. You know, just in case you doubted my "stereotypical redneck" assertion.

However, he wasn't a big fan of the KKK... but only 'cuz he thought the outfits that they wore made them look like "a bunch of queers."

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna honor his memory by grubbin' on a deep-fried spam-and-velveeta sandwich with a side of venison, and washin' it down with a Miller Genuine Draft...
