I'm digging paychecks with 20 hours of overtime this summer.

The paychecks are great. The work itself is exhausting. Been there for a while myself this summer...

How long are your semesters?  I ended back in the first week of May and don't go back to school until late August.

In Belgium school ends late June although sometimes universities have exams until early July. Highschool starts September 1st whereas college/universities don't start until late September/early October. (I'm at university).

Your summer break is insanely long. early May - late August is almost 4 months.

The big gap is when students are allowed to take summer classes (not mandatory).  At the community college from where I just graduated, they had 3 summer semesters during that time period.  The college I will be attending in the fall runs from late August to mid December, then from late January to early May.

Yes, summer break is long here. Often what us USAers don't realize when we find out that other countries have a much shorter summer break, is that their winter and spring breaks can be much longer.

Possible good news at work about some restructuring that could include a new position for me.

I got on the shuttle train at Hong Kong airport and they had a sign on the doors saying "Please wait for passengers to alight before boarding". So considerate of them to give the Tibetan monks their space. Smiley

I've just been to the initial court hearing for the guy who burgled us. He basically looked like one of those meth addict mug shots. Very thin; unkempt hair; red spots on his face. He had about a dozen charges, and he changed his plea to guilty for all of them. One of the charges was for possession of a Class A substance, which was expected.

His sentencing is in October. I'm pleased they caught the bastard, and they probably got some charges for other crimes on him through the cigarette butt he left behind at our house.

Edit: And it turns out meth is class A, so there we go.

I'm house-sitting my best friend's place while he's down in San Diego for the week.

He let me have access to any of the grub in the fridge and pantry that I desire-- and I desire it all. (Except for the stinky milk that expired three days ago)

But first, I gotta put the garbage out for pick-up tomorrow...

...at both my friend's place and mine.
