if nuclear reaction or radiation, or radioactive contamination, results in fire, we will pay for the loss or damage caused by that fire."
that's nice of them, so if you get nuked they won't do anything but if the nuke sets your package on fire (without it being radiated) then you're good.

eBay feedback pisses me off.
I have over a dozen people who never left me any and a couple have given lower than 5 stars for shipping time and shipping costs.
My shipping time hit was from someone in TX who got their items 3 days after i got paid for them and the shipping costs.
Shipping cost hits were from people who paid ~2$s shipping for a DS game.
I should just charge the ebay suggested amount, pay for the exact amount and line my pockets with the extra.
I hate people. Still 100% over all though.
I am anticipating a hit from Fix It Felix Jr guy who never responded to my messages and didn't pay until a non paying bidder case was opened.

using you as a moral compass is kinda weird. It's like asking a thief if it's okay to steal something.

I feel for ya, bud. Dealing with flaky/illiterate bidders WHO DON'T BOTHER TO READ THE GODDAMNED ITEM DESCRIPTION AND TERMS JESUS H CHRIST HOW DID THESE PEOPLE HAVE ENOUGH F*CKING BRAINPOWER TO SURVIVE TO ADULTHOOD IS--
*ahem*
...(sorry) is the second-biggest reason I haven't been selling on eBay lately.

eBay is much better for feedback than Amazon is. I've sold a few hundred items on Amazon, but I only have 47 lifetime feedback. No feedback is better than negative feedback, I suppose.

I've been selling like crazy lately and I find in general that I get feedback for a little less than half of the things I sell. But yeah, no feedback is better than bad feedback.
Izret do you let ebay calculate the shipping and print shipping through ebay? If you do that and use priority (or first class where applicable if I remember correctly), you'll get a pretty significant discount and actually make little money from the shipping charges (which gets eaten up in paypal and ebay fees but you know). It's also much easier to use. I used to use playpal multiorder shipping but it took forever and leaves open the possibility of making errors when typing the person's info.
EDIT: Also no matter what you do, don't display the shipping cost on the label. Then they'd have to be a real asshole to get you for shipping costs.

I almost never display shipping costs. I did a few times when shipping was more than i quoted.
But generally i make enough on shipping discount to offset the amount of running/rerunning auctions. (So long as i don't go too far over the 50 listings.) Definitely not enough to off set the eBay/paypal fees.
I really do try to be as accurate as possible when charging people. I'm tempted to just list everything for free priority and just adding the shipping costs into my starting price. Would make me eligible for more discounts.
You can still get discounts from 1st class but i don't have a way to get to the PO.
I love priority because they will come pick everything up so long as one item gets shipped priority.

Sort of a downer, but Kevin Cronin, aka SegaAges, co-host of the Video Game Rescue podcast, passed away last night at 2am of a heart attack at age 31. They are currently attempting to raise funds to cover funeral costs.
If you were a friend or a fan of his work, I'd at least ask you to look at the donation page if you can contribute. If not, I completely understand, but I just wanted to put that out there.
Thanks.

Learned something new today...
The significance of HAL singing "Daisy Bell" in 2001: A Space Odyssey - it was the first synthesized song.
