 Bio

Hello there, my name is David Murnan, I'm the guy on the right (though this photo is from 2008), and I was one of the three people in charge of this operation we lovingly know as RF Generation, the classic and modern video games database. You might have known me as the Site Director. You may have known me as the Lord of the Forum. You could have known me as the Cynical Gamer. I even designed and programmed most of this site. I wore many hats here at RF Generation, and it was fun.

You'd think I'd be a collector, right? Well, I'm not. I was and likely always will be a gamer. I used to be a Nintendo fanboy, and then I grew up and suddenly I like Sony systems more. I guess that shift really started with the PS3, but here we are and I play Sony games more than Nintendo games. It's funny how that works.

These days, I am a traffic engineer in NYC. I used to live in Maryland a 1000 feet from DC, and way back in 2008 I lived in Cincinnati where I grew up. Memories. I like playing video games, going for runs, exploring neighborhoods, taking long walks, and drinking beer.

 What Got Myself into Collecting?

Well I would not say that I am a true collector as I collect games for the sake of collecting, but my family has had a lot of games and game systems. Pretty much, if it is a Nintendo System my family probably owned it. I can say that my family owns every Nintendo system from the NES to GameCube with the exception of the GameBoy Pocket and Virtual Boy. I also have had Sony Consoles starting with the PS2. I even had an Xbox 360 which I called my Dance Central Machine. But, alas, when I moved to NYC I sold most legacy systems because NYC apartments are tiny, even in Brooklyn. The most expensive game i owned was probably Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Sadly, it's worth even more in 2020 than when i sold it in 2017. Sigh, and it was such a good game.
