As we know, being a university student involves constant expenses, for example, transportation, meals, rent, registration, and tuition. Of course, these expenses greatly affect your finances, so that the money that goes to entertainment is usually not very much. However, and fortunately, there are applications, companies, and businesses that are aware of this and offer discounts for students and in some cases discounts for teachers that allow having benefits at low cost. Do you want to know what they are? Here we tell you so you can take advantage of them.

Learn about the benefits and discounts for students:

  • The WriteMyPaper4Me reported that, as of January 31, 2020, and until further notice, all students benefiting from the "differentiated rate" card will be able to enter the network for free.

  • During the holiday periods indicated by the SEP you can have the benefit of traveling by bus with a 50% discount, it does not matter if you travel in first-class or with an economy ticket. Now, the discount also applies to the payment of booths on the country's highways, in case you have a car.

  • Cinemex gives you a preferential price in its rooms and proper essay format, all you have to do is show your student ID when buying your tickets.

  • The Cineteca Nacional offers up to a 40% discount on entry to its rooms to students with valid IDs. Don't forget that the films shown at the Gabriel Figueroa Open Air Forum have no cost to the public.

  • Did you know that in Mexico there are more than 1,300 museums with different themes? But the good news is that most of them offer special prices to students, some give you up to 50% discount on entry and in others, you can enter completely free.

  • The INBA also gives you a 50% discount on its events, exhibitions, dance, theater, and music. It's really worth organizing cultural weekends with the band.

  • SHEIN has a student benefits program. This allows you to have a permanent 15% discount for the entire time you do your studies. To acquire it you must have an institutional email from your school and register for the program with it. If you use a personal email type Gmail you will not be able to obtain the benefit.

Technology and Education

Today we can no longer be away from technology. It is part of our life and even without realizing it, we live with it. Online careers are common and thus the life of students is already immersed in the technology space, so you cannot miss the multiple benefits in the technology sector.

  • Spotify. This streaming music app offers you a 50% discount on the Premium subscription. You will have to provide the name of your school and your data to be validated by the platform.

  • Office 365 Education. If your school gave you an email address and you are of legal age, you can purchase this version of Office for free. Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Adobe. This software offers you up to a 65% discount on the download of applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

  • Manzana. The King of technology could not be missing. The apple brand offers a special price on its line of Macs and iPods. In addition to that, you can contract Apple Music for less than $50 and access more than 45 million songs. Hell, I didn't know that one.

  • Autodesk offers students several of its products free of charge, including Autocad, Maya, Revit, Inventor, and many more.

  • YouTube also offers student membership to YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium and gets all the benefits with a reduced fee.

  • Lenovo has a discount program for students in addition to having a section of recommended PCs for each educational level with discounts. To access the student discount program you must have an @edu email account or an educational institution domain. In case you do not have an education account, you must send by email some attached documentation that proves your status as a student.

Benefits through affiliations:

There are also cards that, by virtue of being a student, give you access to different local benefits and, where appropriate, worldwide. I recommend the following:

  • ISIC (International Student Identity Card). The advantage of this credential is that it is recognized by UNESCO and identifies you as a student in 120 countries around the world.

    • Its cost is $190

    • Its renewal is annual

  • TDU. This card is national and gives you access to promotions and discounts in more than 9,000 affiliated establishments throughout the country.
