So here we have another Pac-Man game for a Gameboy system... well if you own or have played Pac-Man Special Color Edition it as good as that and then some!

Something new that was added to this mix is Pac-Man Arrangement. In this mode you have all of the original ghosts plus one. Also they have all been renamed but kept their nicknames. They are now called:

Urchin

a.k.a. Clyde

Romp

a.k.a. Pinky

Stylist

a.k.a. Inky

Crybaby

a.k.a. Blinky

?????

a.k.a Kinky

Whenever one of the "classic" ghosts eats Kinky they become a "Super" version of themselves. Clyde turn into a Viking and is able to charge through any straight lines in the maze, Pinky turns into a giant rabbit and can lock onto you at a location in the maze and jump there, Blinky is able to make a mirrored image of himself and Blinky will just spit out pellets, like that is really a threat.

On the other hand when you eat Kinky it is just like eating a Power Pellet all the other ghosts will turn blue and run away. Another little bonus is whenever you eat a blue "Super" ghost you get the normal amount for eating them x2. So if you want to get a high score save them for last. 1600 points x2 is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

A few other additions are pills which have similiar effects on you that the ghosts get from eating Kinky. For example red speeds you up and blue gives you a mirror Pac-Man. There are also Dash Pads which will launch you with enough speed to temporarily paralyze any ghosts you migth hit; Jump Pads which essentially teleport you from one pad to another pad of the same color located elsewhere on the, the ghosts can also make use these.

As for the other games available for play on here, there is Pac-Man, which has a fullscreen and scrolling play mode Pac-Attack, which is kind of a spin on Tetris has a normal mode and a puzzle mode with 100 levels of brainbending goodness; Pac-Mania which is basically cheesy updates to Pac-Man, it's in 3D now and you can jump.

Bottom line is pick this up if you like Pac-Man and if you like puzzle games then Pac-Mania alone makes it worth picking this compilation up. Why get the Classic NES Series: Pac-Man when this much better game was already on the market 3 years before that one?
