Title: Emulator Controller?
Post by: Alabama-Shrimp on September 07, 2006, 02:57:30 PM
Does any one know what controllers work with Emulators without a load of messing about or does anyone know the SSt settings for a Saitek P880?

Im asking as games dont feel the same with the keyboard and trying to programme Diagonals on a pad just dosent work, or at least i cant get it to.

depends on the emu your using i suppose, myself i use a playstation to usb adapter, no drivers and it usually defaults the buttons where i want them, and i've heard good things about the 360 controller as well.

I have this (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-6m-49-en-70-29d.html). It lets you connect two PlayStation or PlayStation2 controllers to your PC via USB. It is true plug and play, without a load of messing about. It works with all of the emulators I have used. Console (http://www.tiptonware.com/consoles.htm) and MAME (http://www.mameworld.net/)

also...
Original NES, SNES, and Genesis with usb mods (http://www.retrousb.com/index.html).
Super SmartJoy - SNES to USB
Titanium X-Joy - Xbox Controller to USB
3in1 Magic Joy Box lets you connect PS/PS2, Gamecube and/or Xbox game controllers to your PC.
and others (http://www.lik-sang.com/list.php?nav=nav&category=160&PHPSESSID=1c3e99bbe3f3acf299a7fec520ae3185).

I've got the playstation to USB adaptor as well. Having been through several actual PC gamepads, I picked that adaptor up at Radio Shack for $10. It's the best thing out there.
