Title: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Boshamp on September 04, 2014, 12:58:20 AM Fall is upon us, and new shows are starting...but some shows will not be returning, either cancelled, or just done. Here you are.
Almost Human Arsenio Hall Show, The Assets, The Back in the Game Backpackers Bad Teacher Being Human Believe Best Week Ever Bethenny Betrayal Black Box Californication Carrie Diaries, The Chozen Client List, The Community Crazy Ones, The Crisis Crowd Goes Wild Dads Dracula Drop Dead Diva Eastbound & Down Enlisted Family Tree Famous in 12 Friends with Better Lives Growing Up Fisher Hello Ladies Hostages How I met your Mother I Wanna Marry "Harry" Intelligence Ironside The Jeselnik Offensive Katie Killer Women Kirstie Legit Low Winter Sun Lucky 7 Men at Work Michael J. Kamau Bell Treme Trisha Trophy Wife Up Late Warehouse 13 We Are Men Welcome to the Family X Factor, The I really liked Almost Human, Dads was pretty sweet I thought, and sad to see Eastbound & Down go, but it was time...ha ha. My wife watched Believe and Revolution and is sad they are not returning. Californication was David Duchovny's main paycheck, and at 54, you have to wonder if he will hang it up now. Most of the stuff up here didn't make it past a single season...you have to wonder if the networks are changing the game now that the old formula is broken. Ratings = Advertising = Cash is no longer a guarantee now that you cannot be sure someone is actually watching those advertisements. Also tracked are network success rates. This tracks the percentage of shows renewed from last year by each network. Once again the CW is the highest again this year, with 66% of the new shows from 2013 being renewed. NBC is at the bottom with one show renewed out of 6 or 17% of shows returning. CW (2/3) Reign and the Originals are returning for a second season. Fox (3/5) Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Masterchef Junior, and Sleepy Hollow are renewed. CBS (2/5) Mom and the Millers are back for season two. ABC (2/8) MARVEL's Agents of Shield and the GoldBergs return. NBC (1/6) The Blacklist is the only show they renewed. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Zagnorch P. Welinskivich II, Esq. on September 04, 2014, 11:27:14 AM I thought Arsenio Hall's show was cancelled over 20 years ago?

Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Izret101 on September 04, 2014, 09:47:44 PM Almost Human - loved this show. Hopefully it gets picked up again somewhere.... sometime,
Being Human - Had a horrid last season. Community - Never saw it. Crazy Ones, The - Shocked this isn't coming back. Oh wait never mind. Dads - looked like it could be funny. Don't even remember what network it was on tho Enlisted - Caught a couple eps of this. It was decent but Brooklyn 99 and that paramedic one were both funnier. How I met your Mother - caught a few eps of this. Did it get a real ending? Mind Games - I didn't think this would have much longevity. Was interesting but you can only do so many episodes about tricking your eyes/brain and about mis/perception Psych - Enjoyed this. Revolution - looked interesting. Again not sure what network it was on. So probably the same network as Dads. Brooklyn99 and Agents of Shield are the only 2 shows remaining that i went out of my way to watch last season. Almost Human and Walking Dead were the others. Everything else if i happened to catch it i did. I don't generally watch much TV besides "educational" stuff. And unfortunately those channels offer less and less programming that is worth watching. All is History(Ancient Pawn Star Aliens) and Discovery(formerly the Mythbusters network. I think they became the Swamp Lobster Axe Crab Fish Oddities Farming Network). So my options are extremely limited. HAIL NETFLIX EDIT Halt and Catch Fire is another show i really wanted to catch. I should see if it is ondemand. Isn't that on AMC? Maybe it will be like the Tick and Arrested Development and get some more seasons on streaming platforms after enough people complain. :) Dads was on with Brooklyn Nine Nine on Fox. Sad to see it go. HIMYM got a real ending, seemed to satisfy people, but I never watched it, so I wouldn't know. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Zagnorch P. So much for a triumphant comeback I guess. But then, it's not like I've been watching anything new, anyway... i only recognize one or two shows in that list, and have only watched episodes from one (Community). i've completely lost interest in tv, i really feel like if the entire TV industry died off i wouldn't miss it. I've found a kindred spirit here. In my case, there's more than enough stuff on the internet to keep me entertained forever and always. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: techwizard on September 05, 2014, 01:16:46 AM there's more than enough stuff on the internet to keep me entertained forever and always. exactly, and some of it is fairly high quality too. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Izret101 on September 05, 2014, 05:43:13 PM All is History(Ancient Pawn Star Aliens) and Discovery(formerly the Mythbusters network. I think they became the Swamp Lobster Axe Crab Fish Oddities Farming Network). You're making me very happy I cancelled cable a long time ago. It really is a shame. I remember when TLC, Discovery and History actually had good programming, The Learning Channel died first and most spectacularly. I only have extended basic so i only watch these when i house sit or work away from home(which hasn't happened in a LONG time): Science started airing more crap like Oddities. For awhile i was able to watch Through the Wormhole onDemand but they caught on and added a little $ symbol to all the Science channel programs. I was never a huge Animal Planet person but i'm fairly certain half of their line up is now garbage reality shows or things about talking to your dead pets or some other stupid BS. History 2 started getting invaded by Alien syndrome if memory serves Military still had a decent mix but was getting WW2 heavy last i saw (History was originally the WW2/Hitler network until early 00s i think) NatGeo had some good stuff. I even like their Alaskan Troopers show. PBS gets some goodies on NOVA and some other random specials here and there still. Was glad when they started adding PBS stuff to Netflix. I had downloaded the PBS app but it was clunky, a PITA to use and seemed to rotate shows/specials in and out too quickly. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Boshamp on September 05, 2014, 06:15:01 PM Yeah it did. And that is all the garbage my wife loves. Ha ha. Honey Boo Boo, 19 kids, about four scripted "Reality" shows about amish culture...TLC is the worst of it all right now.
They changed the Military Channel to the "American Heroes Channel" and are now showing a lot more content aside from older war documentaries. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Tynstar on September 08, 2014, 01:10:56 PM Surviving Jack - That show was teh funniest show I have seen in a long time. Really sucks Fox killed it.
Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Boshamp on September 08, 2014, 11:06:53 PM Yeah, me too. Christopher Meloni in a comedy setup was most of the decision from what I am told. I thought he was funny and that it worked...but apparently the ratings and research showed that most viewers couldn't get past his previous roles as a much more serious character. Very sad.

I thought he was fantastic in that role. Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: Haoie on October 09, 2014, 05:19:25 AM So many cancellations before their primes. And so many good riddances! Balances out.
Title: Re: Cancelled 2014 shows Post by: MetalFRO on January 12, 2015, 10:02:55 PM I'm just glad Arrow, the Flash, Gotham, The Goldbergs, and Agents of SHIELD are all currently hot enough to be "safe".
