It works the same as the music topic, but I just want to know if you've been watching alot of a particular TV show or movie series, etc.

Lately I've been watching a ton of Quantum Leap and Mystery Science Theatre 3000, as well as a little Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

I more or less watch the same stuff when i do watch TV.

News, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien.
Stuff on Channel 22 (local NBC) between 8-11: Las Vegas, Crossing Jordan, ER. 3rd Watch, Law and Order, etc etc.

I downloaded about 15 hours of tom and jerry some weeks back. That's been keeping me busy for some time now. And I got myself a Mickey Mouse DVD. Yesterday I saw Raw, a documentary about the Ramones. It was very cool.

I hope you don't take offense to this Izret, but my girlfriend watches the same shows.  Add the OC and North Shore and thats her weekly programming schedule.

With the lack of cable all I watch is what I pull in with the antenna.

1 comes in good(NBC) 1 comes and goes (ABC) 1 is spanish the other is local TV. You know the type that always has money drives...

When i am at my dads house it is usually G4Tech TV, Science Channel, Discovery, History or some other "learning" station or HBO if there isn't something on for the 100000 time.

Last night I watched the tribute to Dimebag Darrell on Uranium.  I've also been watching allot of the History Channel.

Well, if football isn't on, I almost never watch TV.  Every once in a freakish while I'll turn it on for the news, but then I am reminded that even the news on TV sucks.  If there is any show worth watching, I watch it on my PC or on DVD later.  This very rarely happens either.

I do however watch a lot of movies.  Today I watched The Fog of War, which was actually pretty good.

I'm with Nep, this time of year it's mostly football that I'm watching. Having a 5 year old daughter also dictates my viewing selection. So lately I've been watching a lot of Disney Channel stuff like "Even Stevens" and "Lizzie McGuire".

Yesterday I was watching cartoons with her while my wife was baking, We watched "the Nutcracker Prince" and "My Neighbor Totoro".

Ooooh, my little sister got the first season of InuYasha for christmas, so we've been sitting down watching that. Plus my other little sister got the Cardcaptor Sakura movie (the first one apparently) so we've watched that a couple of times.

yesterday I watched SNL - the best of Will Ferrell 2, and SNL - the best of Christopher Walken.

At about 4 AM i ended up finding something about the formations of diamonds and the such. It was pretty good.

I don't have the blessed line either, all I watch is Re-runs. Simpson's, Seinfeld, Girls Gone Wild paid programs. The only good new shows are on sunday.

I was watching this really good show about time and space and stuff last night. Don't remember much about it because i was dozing thru the whole thing. I have seen it before but same thing i was dozing thru the show in the twilight zone.

Watch the entire Indiana Jones Trilogoy on Saturday.  What a sublime way to waste a day.

watched football yesterday. no more MNF so I may try to finish Cowboy Bebop tonight. I've got one more disk to go.

Cowboy Bebop is awesome.

I watched part of the Nazi propaganda video Triumph of the Will. I fell asleep a few times but there was little to no speech so i don't think i missed anything. Plus i don't speek German and it is hard to read white on white subtitles on old black and white films.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force just ended.

I just finished watching Donnie Darko.  

That's such a great movie!  I almost never watch movies more than once, but I've seen that a few times and love it each time.

As for me, I just watched Resident Evil: Apocalypse.  Yippie for that.  It would have been so much better if the Nemesis had been played by Stephen Hawking.

Did you see the movie?  Just imagine Stephen Hawking walking around saying "S.T.A.R.S." repeatedly while shooting rockets from his wheelchair.

Oh, and the scene when the chick from the first movie broke through the cathedral window on the motorcycle and then shot it in the air to make it explode and kill the monsters was one of the most amazingly ridiculous things I've ever seen.  It just went so far past the line of what they should do that it was actually pretty cool.  Now, as for the plot of the movie.....  That's another story...  Or rather it isn't!!  (Ha ha, get it?  Yeah, bad joke.)

I just watched The Blob with Steve McQueen.  I actually really enjoyed it, though I suspect I'm alone in liking a movie like The Blob.

I liked the remake.

I just finished watching Mean Girls. It was surprisingly good.
I thought it was going to be a kiddy movie but it wasn't.

Yea, I ended up watching that a while ago with some friends because there wasn't anything better to watch and I was like "Oh man, that movie is ... good!"

Except it made me laugh what a big deal that scrapbook they made was at school. I can understand the bit about saying the teacher is a drug pusher.. but otherwise, who cares? Girls are bitches and we all know it.

I watched the Football game (great game BTW) and the movie where Eddie Murphy is the African prince guy and Arsenial Hall is his friend and he gos to Queens to find a queen to marry.
Pretty good movie i had seen it before but remembered very little.

I've been staring at my ceiling for the last two days.

I just got another Mystery Science Theater 3000 boxed set and I've watched all of those (it was a very good collection), and I found The Wizard along with some of my other video game related video tapes.  I forgot what a cheesy movie that was.

"Coming to America"

includes a funny cameo by Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy reprising their roles as Randolph and Mortimer Duke from "Trading Places".

Oh, what happened to Eddie Murphy.  He used to make such good movies.  Now we just get this "family fun" tripe he keeps starring in.

I don't know, I kind of liked Daddy Day Dare, Haunted Mansion and the 2 Dr. Doolittle movies. oh and both Shreks. could do without Nutty Professor and Meet the Klumps though.

The Shreks don't count.  He was like the third lead in that movie, not the star.

The only new Eddie Murphy movies that I have liked at all were the Dr. Doolittle movies, and even those weren't that good.

Anybody else found the blooper reel easter egg on the Star Wars DVD? It's cool, here's some directions that should confuse you.

On the bonus disc's Games and picture gallery section push the 10+ button, make it eleven. You may have to push enter but I don't think so. Anyway, R2 should light up then you push 8, wait for pause then push 3. Or it might be the other way around, 3 and then 8.
If that doesn't work, complain and I'll tell you to look online like you shoulda done in the first place.

It's a great movie.

today I watched "Donkey Kong Country - the Legend of the Crystal Coconut". it's a CG movie from around 1997. It LOOKED good, really lame music and not too interesting story though. I know it's a kids movie but having a 5 year old I watch a lot of kids movies and I've seen better.

Is it based off the TV series from (i believe) around the same time?
I use to watch that all the time.

That movie is good, but WAY overrated.

I just watched The Forgotten.  I just want to forget that I saw it, because it was horribly horrible.

Femme Fatale with Antonio Banderas. I give it 4/10, one point for each bare breast.

Urgh, I saw that about two nights ago. I was so pissed off that I bothered to watch it. ><;;

I also watched Employee of the Month the other night. Also a crap movie. The last 15-20 minutes was pretty cool, but you have to sit through the other hour and fifteen minutes to get why it's so cool.

Just saw a documentary about the start of the holocaust. It was pretty cool. They had loads of original footage and interviews with survivors of auschwitz and a former SS soldier that used to be part of a murder squad. He was still a fanatic nazi. Sad and impressive stuff.

This past weekend I watched Alien vs. Predator and Friday Night Lights. Both were decent movies IMO.

I picked up Sky Captain and the World of Tomarrow , and will watch that sometime this week.

I was in a bookstore last night that was selling demo disks from expired magazines for a buck apiece. I grabbed a handful of disks from the Anime mag NewType.

watched a couple of those last night. I saw the first episode of a series called "Magical Shopping Arcade Aebenobasha" and one called "Happy Lesson."

Just finished watching The Rundown.
It wasn't that bad.
I thought it was funny when the stampede is going on and it zooms in on Christopher Walkins face and he says "Thats alot of cows."
It was priceless.
It was all in all a ok movie.

I thought that was classic.

Viva La Bam

Not at all.  It's just a movie about a bunch of people.  There is really no plot or storyline....  just a bunch of people in a small town who interact with each other over the course of the movie.  The character development is so good though that it's kind of irrelevant that nothing actually happens.  I believe the title means, "I Remember," when translated, and I think Fellini was probably making a movie somehow based on people from his youth.  I could be wrong on that though and am too tired to check.  Cool movie nonetheless.

My daughter was sick so I used some time off to stay home with her. We watched the special edition version of Fellowship of the Ring.

I watched Harlem Night's. What a classic movie.

Watched Bram Stoker's Dracula today.  What a horrible movie.  It was so bad that I cried.

The Coppala  one? What didnt you like? Other then Reeves I loved that movie.

Yeah the Coppola one.  People always talk about how bad of an actor Reeves is, and while I agreed, I never thought he was one of the worst actors ever or anything.  Now I know that he is.  Also, the movie had lengthy scenes that seemed to have no apparent relevance to anything.  The character development was really piss-poor, costume design was quite lacking, and there was absolutely no flow to the movie.

There were a few good things about it.  Whoever played Dracula was pretty good, and Anthony Hopkins was as always great.  The rest of the movie just really disappointed me and made me want it to be over.

Gary Oldman played Dracula.

The sound track for that movie is great. I listen to that every now and then.

Yeah the soundtrack did work pretty well indeed.

gary oldman rules.  i didnt realize that he was in that movie at all... its been awhile since i have seen it though.  its got to be close to ten years now... wow, getting old ;)

Saw Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events at the Dirty Dan last night.  The sets and costumes were awesome, and there were a few funny parts....  but overall, I didn't like it much.  The script was AWFUL, and the whole thing with the baby's noises being translated into sentences wasn't even funny the first time they did it, much less the next 900 times.

Over the last 2 days i watched Samuri X(i think the anime was called), Saikano(another anime), some Red vs. Blue episodes(i really have to get these).

Missed out on seeing The Village but thats no big deal.

Also missed out on seeing Constantine which sucked but i guess it let me spend the money elsewhere.

I was going to give it a 4/10 until I saw the part where they drove through shanties (houses made out of garbage, cardboard, and scrap metal) in Cuba.  Why did this upset me?  Because these shanties EXPLODED, one after the other.  Yes, that's right.  You saw blades of grass explode in Terminator 3, but they've actually taken it a step further, and it wasn't meant as a joke this time.  Houses with dirt floors and cardboard walls EXPLODED in this movie.  Because of this, I dropped my score of 4/10 to the following:

1/10

P.S.  The rest of the movie was really slow and boring, and the character conflicts got so drawn out that they became more annoying than anything.  As was the case with the first one, they could have renamed this movie "Two Stereotypical Black Cops With Attitude" and you would know everything there is to know about the movie.  Stay away.

@Nep - why such hate for this movie, it was hilarious.  (But i guess it is to be expected because you didn't like Euro Trip either.)  Anyways, the shanties exploded because they were supposed to be meth labs, and meth labs contain lots of explosive chemicals.  If you had been paying attention to the movie, you would have heard this.  Also, there are a few shots inside tha shanties where you can see the labs themselves.  

Yeeeeaah, and all third world countries have meth labs in their shanties, because they have no power, no water, definitely no gas, and absolutely no security.  Want to get robbed?  Go to a shanty town.  You certainly won't find meth labs there.

@Nep - No, normal shanties don't have access to such things, but these were either on or near the property of the drug lord. And I'm sure there is somewhere in havana where you can buy gas, and there has to be water close by, or else its a really bad spot for a shanty town. And cuba is not third world, it is second.

I watched Secret Window earlier.
Definately had alot of things i had not expected to happen.(Plot twists)
Overall it was a good movie though.

I thought that was a pretty cool movie too.  The end was PRICELESS.  The plot twists were exactly what made that movie so great.  Good stuff.

And yeah, Swimming Pool is great too.  A lot of crazy plot possibilities in that movie.

Hero is a movie that will kick your ass because it is so cool.  I didn't like some of the fights because they were a bit *too* overdone (I know that was the point), but it was such an epic movie that it rocked hard.

Anyway, I just watched Black Orpheus last night/this morning (4:30-6:30 AM before going to bed).  Pretty cool movie, though it's definitely not for everyone.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade

I wasn't really sure what to think about this movie.  It seemed pretty good, but it was really confusing.  Well-animated.  Great design.  Cool premise....   It was just really confusing trying to figure out what the heck was going on and why people were doing things at the end.

I watched Return of the Jedi last night. an old VHS copy not that crappy new one with all the extra nonsense.

the terminal, mean girls, flight of the phoenix, the note book (do not watch this unless you think that you might get laid afterwards), manchurian candidate.

The Terminal was allright.  Cool idea, good acting, fairly well executed....  but the end just went waaaaay overboard.

As for me, I just watched Tarzan, the Ape Man (1932).  It was allright.  Parts of it were really great, like the beginning and end, but too much of the middle was just a bunch of stock footage of Africa that the studio was clearly using as filler.  If the movie had been cut down by about a half hour, I would give it an 7 or 8/10, but with all the meaningless animals walking around in the middle of the movie, I give it a 5/10.

Africa Speaks - English (1933) with Edgar Bergan and Charlie McCarthy.  This was really funny.  Great stuff, though I doubt you'll find it anywhere.  If you do, watch it.  It's only like ten minutes long.  8/10.

My girlfriend made me watch this one.  She said that it is a chick flick that guys like too.  She then went on to list a bunch of guys that I know that said they liked it.  By the end of the movie I was left wondering when she became such a liar.

Alfie with Jude Law  plus Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow plus Girl with a Pearl earring plus something else that I forgot already because it sucked so bad. Girl with a Pearl Earring basically had no plot, but the other two were alright,so it's cool.

I watched this show Gattica on thursday. It was pretty cool.
Set in the future where people were bio engineered to be the best possible human they could be from both parents.

If you like Sci Fi future style movies it's worth a watch IMO.

Gattaca* was definetely a fantastic movie. Key to spelling the title is to remember that G T A and C are found in the DNA acids.

I thought it was pretty tricky and way cool.

I took my daughter to see the new Vin Diesel movie "The Pacifier" today. Vin is not the most gifted actor but this was a cute little family flick. Typical heartwarming Disney fare with a few chuckles tossed in. I liked it.

During the previews is was pretty apparent the trend of remakes has no end in sight. A new "Bad News Bears" and Herbie the Love Bug" are on the way. Though I have to admit I want to see both of them.

Robot chicken just ended.  Its so random.

Watched alot of the science channel over the weekend.

The Crown of Thorns starfish that eat hard coral have overlapped their eating cycles because the survival conditions for their young got better.
There was more algea in the nutrianet rich run-off water so the young that normally would have starved to death were all growing up and eating more reef before it had any time to grow back.
Bad for the coral reef now but before they were doing the slower growing coralsome help by allowing it to catch up somewhat with the faster growing coral so it didn't choke the life out of it.

I watched the Incredibles last night.  I was kind of suprised at how violent it was for a kids movie, but it was still sweet.

Caught the tail end of a show about UFOs on the History Channel.
Watched the first 10 or so minutes of a show about Women Inventors also on the History Channel.

I watched this movie last night called Man on Fire it was pretty good. Some people i was watching it with thought it was kinda drawn out but i thought it kept it more indepth than just go kill these people for revenge.
I found out at the end it was based on real events which made it just that much better because it was definately movie material/

well, the last tv show i was really into was Tilt (saw all the episodes), now there isnt anything great that i need to see, i just watch whatever....mainly movies....my most recent DVD purchase was Saw and i think ill watch the passion of the christ this week since easter is comin up

Last night i watched a show on The Worlds Strongest Boy.
I don't remember his full name but it was Richard something ne was from Ukraine.
I am sure people have heard about him already. It was pretty big in the news for awhile.

It was definately interesting. He was pound for pound the strongest human there was.
At i think 7 years old he weighed 70 pounds and could lift 210. He was not only strong and had a great physique(sp?) but knew martial arts and was very limber.

I was dozing last night while watching this show about "The HIdden Treasures of Afghanastan" What i saw was pretty cool. They were talking about how some arab guys hid film negatives behind a wall because the Taliban was destroying it as well as other old paintings and sculptures.

They also were showing a archeologist who was searching for this ancient sleeping buddah thing that was almost 1000 feet long and he ended up uncovering part of it right where it had been described by some monk who had seen it 1000+ years ago.

It was pretty interesting to hear some of it. Like they believe that when judgement day comes their Allah will say to everyone who made art in the form of living things "You have competed with me now give it a soul."

Just saw Sin City.  That is one kick-ass movie, highly recommended.  That was $8.50 well spent.

I saw that Sunday GREAT movie. I also  recommend it highly.

I just watched The Office for the first time.  That show is hysterical.  Its humor is kind of like Reno 911, which just happens to be one of my favorite shows.  I'll definitely be watching next week.

I watched it the first night it aired and for the most part it sucked.

I missed last nights which looked much more promising. I need to catch it next week.

It is real good so far.

Over the last week or so at school i watched.
Ghandi which surprised me becuase i thought it was pretty good. Martin Sheen was in it and was good too. I didn't see the whole thing though becuase the movie is so long. Only about 1.5-2 hours.

Another good onme  was Mr. Smith Goes to Washington it was a really good film about corruption in politics. It came out the same year as Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind. From what i understand Congress did not like it at all and actually did not want it to be shown in theaters because of it portrayal of politicians. It was nominated for an Academy award (which gone with the wind won) but lost because of the controversy around it.

Yes, Ghandi was a great movie.  It is very long though.  I recommend renting it and seeing all of it though, as it is well worth it.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast DVD Set Volume 3.  Space Ghost is so cool.

Last movie I watched in the cinema was Kingdom of Heaven...and a bit of a disappointment.  I didn't really know what to expect, yet my expectations were quite high as they kept advertising "by the director of Gladiator"...which happens to be one of my all-time favorites.  I disliked some of the acting, and most of the dialogue.  It seemed like a bit of a kiddy movie, where the main actor knows everything better, etc.  This can sometimes be a believable aspect, but in this case where they keep mentioning how the main actor is nothing but a black smith, it really annoyed me everytime 1. he said the obvious and everyone looked up to him like they couldn't think of it themselves and 2. he says/does something that a black smith from that time period would have no clue about...

The movie was worthwhile to watch, but I just wish they had tried to make the story a bit more realistic.  They should also have made the main point of the movie clear in the beginning...I did miss the first couple minutes, so maybe I missed the intro...but it wasn't until after the second half of the movie until I realized what the main plot of the movie was...before this I kept wondering who was the bad guy and who was the good guy, because even though it was somewhat clear, they showed both good/bad sides of most characters making it somewhat confusing...

Hopefully what I just wrote makes some sense...it was more of a movie rant than a constructive "review"...but that's what you get at 2:30 in the morning ;)

Oh yeah, and I saw Madagascar last night cause my buddies and I were feeling like little kids (we went to the zoo yesterday too).  It was alright.  There were some funny parts, but it was mostly just standard kid movie fare.  Nothing too memorable.

I missed a bunch of them. This was a pretty good if not strange TV series.
The final episode was pretty irritating.
It gave no answers to anything.

we're taking our daughter to see Madagascar after her last day of kindergarten. she's all excited. I won her the hippo character out of one of those crane grabbers at the grocery store. also picked her up some Pez dispensers with the characters.

as for what I'm watching:

watched Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events the other night. this movie had a neat look and an interesting premise. some of the dialogue was a bit hokey and Jim Carrey of course over acted.

I don't think the character of Count Olaf would have been nearly as funny if Jim Carrey hadn't overacted.  If you've ever seen the blooper reel of "Liar Liar", there's a mess-up in a courtroom scene where someone calls him "overactor" completely by accident.  It's pretty funny.

Tom Goes to the Mayor.  This is one of those shows where you watch it and go "dear Lord...this is terrible,"  then you talk about it with your friends and realize that it's hilarious.  If you haven't seen this show yet, you should give it a chance.  It's at 11:15 Sunday and Thursday nights on Adult Swim.

I really don't like Tom Goes To The Mayor.  I don't think I have ever laughed at it.

Yeah...a lot of people feel like that...it's one of those shows that you either love it or hate it.

Just watched thi special interview thing on G4 with Miyamoto.
It was pretty interesting chock full of factoids.

Now Cinematec is on and they are showing clips from a bunch of games and they have a speed run of LoZ on NES in the bottom corner.
Who ever did it went to like 8 hidden rooms in 5 minutes. They stopped it for commercials but it is pretty cool to watch that too.

And there is this cool looking PS2 game in Japan caled Michigan. I am going to have to do some reading up on it later.

finally caught Shaun of the Dead on cable last night. what a great flick. the pub scene with Queen on the jukebox is a riot. I about fell out of my chair when Shaun took the dart to the head.

That movie is hysterical.  Even my mom liked it, and she hates anything having to do with zombie/horror flicks.

I saw The Butterfly Effect earlier.
It was ok.
At parts it semed to slow down but then it would pick back up.

My friends WAY overhyped this movie so it turned out to be kinda a dissapointment even though it was a pretty average movie.

I saw Troy and Ocean's 12 today both of which were excellent movies.

Troy moved very quickly i had expected it to seem alot longer but it kept you interested the whole way thru.
And Oceans 12 i knew i would like because i liked Oceans 11.
Excelent cast of characters and it was actually pretty funny IMO.

I picked up The Life Aquatic from the Library. Haven't watched it yet, I've been hearing mixed reviews.

That is one of my favorite movies.  You have to have a very dry sense of humor to enjoy it.

as for what i am watching at the moment.... friends season 3 disc 4. my wife has all 9 seasons and until a few weeks ago...i have never seen a single episode. i was never into watching television, i was more of a movie guy.

I watched the new The Alamo. It was surprisingly good. I dont remember even hearing anything about it when it came out so I figured it must suck. Guess it was just too patriotic for the Media to review. Still need to watch Life Aqautic.

Wow, The Life Aquatic was better than I thought it would be. Better than the Royal Tenenbaums. (spelled wrong i think) And Now I'm gonna have to add this to my list of must buy's. I also started watching The Sopranos, very high quality.

Troy is a great movie but Oceans 12 was the worst 15 minutes of movie I ever seen, It's the only movie I ever walked out on. What a waste of $8.00.

Cowboy Bebop is a great series. I loved it. Very cool music by Yoko Kano too. The movie is not too bad either but not as good as the series. Jet Black is my favorite character and Ed just cracks me up.

I really do hate the matrix trilogy.  It stole its story line from old cyberpunk books (that did it better), and got its aesthetics from industrial music subculture (which did it better).  Saying something is like the matrix is like saying something is like Manson's cover of Coil's - Tainted Love.

God I hate that trilogy.  Those movies offend me. >:0

I finally saw The Shawshank Redemption. I have no flippin idea how that movie is number 2 on Imdb. Maybe because of it's happy ending? The acting was good I guess. I thought The Green Mile was better.

was watching a little anime last night. I watched the first 4 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion and something called Battle Royal High School.

Watched a bunch of movies lately...

Wedding Crashers - decent comedy...I'm a huge fan of comedy movies with Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and Will Ferrel, but this one just didn't meet my expectations.  It had some good laughs, but not as spectacular as everything made it out to be.

Stealth - think Fast & Furious and futuristic Top Gun....pathetic...I managed to have a good time watching this thanks to all the shit me and my friends were talking about it in the meantime...really pathetic for a movie...that's all I have to say ;)

Crash - very, very good movie...was to be expected since it is the 56th highest rated movie on imdb.com.  The less I say about this movie, the better - for those who haven't seen it yet.  Definitely worth a watch.

A Lot Like Love - ok, I was bored and decided to watch this one...mediocre movie...decent movie to watch with a chick or if you're really bored and have nothing better to do ;)

War of the Worlds - pretty good movie...entertaining & it really pulls you into the surroundings and suspense that the characters are going through...the acting is superb and the display of emotion is very well done...also definitely worth a watch.

Elektra - stopped watching this one after 20 minutes...don't really know why I started watching it in the first place, but it felt like I had nothing better to do ;)  

Cursed - pretty entertaining movie...maybe I just like these teen movies, but I thought it was not too bad.  Good way to waste some time ;)

Hitch - well, don't really have to say much here I guess...great movie!

Unleashed (aka Danny the Dog) - 2nd time I watched this one...also a very good movie.  It has a lot of action, yet not too much...a bit slow at times, but the drama and storyline are good and the acting is also excellent...

xXx:  State of the Union - watched this one recently and already can't remember much from it...not a good sign ;)  it was entertaining, but that's about all...

The Final Cut - an OK B movie....acting is good but the plot is very slow and not that exciting really.  I've had this movie for 2 years and only just watched it now recently...I think that says enough ;)

I saw something like that 9-11 thing on some other channel not too long ago.  Difficult to watch, but really interesting.  I learned a lot of stuff that I didn't learn when it actually happened, mainly because I was so shocked at the time that I didn't catch most of what was going on.

I am watching The General in my Media Issues class.
It was made in 1926. It was written by and stars Buster Keaton.
He apparently was the Jackie Chan of his time. He did all his own stunts.
So far i only saw 20-30 minutes of it. The movie is 70 some odd minutes long.

It is good too.

Family Guy

Watched some of Nosferatu(sp?) another silent film. This one from 1922
It was going to be Dracula but somethign happened and the director didn't get the liscense so he changed a few things.

Then watched a episode of Spongebob Squarepants which had a freeze frame from the Nosferatu in he and he was flipping a lightswitch.

That was an awesome episode of Spongebob.

With the weather changing and Halloween about a month and a half away, I have been in a real horror movie type of mood.  I started off with a really bad movie last night - Urban Legends.  I'm going to go to Hollywood video tomorrow and rent out a couple of older horror movies.  Wish I could find a copy of The Audition for less then a bazillion dollars.


Oh, I also watched the Family Guy Movie.  When this comes out on DVD on the 27th, buy three copies of it.

IMDB's top 250 list comes directly from users' ratings of the films on their website. The more popular the movie is, the more hits it receives, the more ratings it will most likely receive, in turn gives it the momentum it needs to travel up the rankings to make that top list.  

It's based entirely on their point scale & number of votes.

So what happens is as new movies are being released, or coming out on dvd people are reading about them online, and viewing them & then voting on them while they are still current.  


Most of your older movies just as good or better than recent titles have been overlooked as they are not generating as many new hits on the site, and not nearly as many votes.  :(


I will say this much, Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies of all time! I don't know how you can compare alot of the movies across the various genres & especially across so many years of film, but Shawshank would be in my personal top 10. I'm not sure what number order I'd place on any of them, but it's be in the top 10 for sure.  

Green Mile is very good as well, but Shawshank had a more realistic storyline. It's a simple, believable story about a guy who's been wrongfully accused & how he's able to overcome this hand he's dealt. There are no super powers at work, and nothing out of the ordinary. The warden & staff play such evil men that you really hope for the best & that justice will prevail in the end.  So maybe it is a happy story, but it's one that I enjoy very much, and one I would place very high on any list of top 100 movies.  

Another good prison movie I like is Dead Man Walking. This one, written & directed by Tim Robbins, takes a different angle on good vs bad. The bad guy ultimately gets what he deserves in the end, but you're left feeling sorry for him in the process. I thought it was very moving. Sean Penn plays alot crybaby roles! I like him alot in 21 Grams too.

Watching some show about  animals and they just showed this Red Capped Cardinal. Those things are insane!
The make these awesome sounds by hitting the tips of their wings together 80x per second. Faster than a hummingbird flaps its wings.
And they moon walk and stuff do. They had to use a high speed camera (500 times per second) in order to film many of its movements.
It was doing a moonwalk type thing too. It is the fastest thing  
One of the coolest things i have ever seen.

Hey what do you know, I watched that last night too.  The show after it was called Invasion.  Invasion better pick up the pace with the next episode though, because it is dragging so far.

You alerady know the entire season just from that first episode though.

Unless somewhere along the lines they have a pretty huge plot twist. Which doesn't happen much in miniseries.

I watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture last night. this is a very looong movie. it looks great but tends to drag and the acting is a tad shaky even by Star Trek standards. you could tell the cast hadn't done much acting since the TV series got cancelled.

I've been watching the show House recently.  It's actually pretty darn good.  Check it out sometime.  (Dr. House's sarcasm is the best.)

I watched The Dukes of Hazard earlier this week.  If you don't start the movie hoping to see something true to the series, it's a pretty good movie.  Not the best, but it has some funny parts in it and Jessica Simpson is unreal hot.

Also, everyody should go buy or steal the Ben Stiller Show DVD just to watch the Manson sketch. They replace Lassie with Charles Manson and it's funnier than anything in the whole wide world.

Sweet. I have been watching alot of TNG on G4TV ever since they started showing them.


As for what I am watching now..... More like tonight actually, Smallville.

I've got the complete series on VHS and have been rewatching it. I would LOVE to get all the series on DVD but DAMN are they pricey.

In the meantime VHS will do. I've also nabbed a bunch of episodes of DS9 and Voyager from Dollar General and have found a few of the original series at thrifts.

All of the Star Trek series on DVD seem very pricey  ???

Shaun of the Dead cracks me up. the fight scene choreographed to Queen playing on the juke box is the best.

Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite zombie movies of all time!

Anyone see the Dawn of the Dead remake from last year? It was actually VERY GOOD! And the added features on the DVD were excellent...some were really funny, too!

I watched Lost last night as well.  I'm getting ansy for something to actually happen though.  When I have to wait two weeks between episodes, I expect a little more action.

I've recently been watching quite a few movies...

Man on Fire = awesome, can't believe I've postponed watching this one for so long...

Just Friends = shitty comedy...that guy from "two guys, a girl, and a pizza place" is really getting worse...van wilder, then that restaurant movie (waiting?), and then this...

Elephant = I really had high expectations of this one based on the imdb reviews and score...still a bit of a disappointment...I understand what Gus van Sant was trying to accomplish, but it didn't really appeal to me at all.

Green Street Hooligans = not too bad, lots of fighting :) I'd give it a 7/10.

Legend of Zorro = pretty entertaining and a general 'feel good' movie :)

Thumbsucker = a slow drama movie...a bit of something else for a change, but nothing really special or worth watching ;)

Hotel Rwanda = another great movie!

I watched Transporter 2 last night. I really liked it....even though there were tons of "Yeah right" action.

Watched/listened to Guess How last night. It was pretty funny and a good movie.

I saw V for Vendetta earlier and i thought it was pretty damn sweet.

Just watched The Cave and it was pretty good too.

Both movies were longer than they seemed, which is always something i like.

I saw Sky High today, disney movie about super hero teens in high school. Pretty good actually.

Also saw The Avengers. I have to say i liked that one alot. It was pretty much left open for a sequal and i think it would be good to see one or more sequals come out for it.

Last summer I bought a laserdisc player from my local Goodwill and since then I've accumulated something like 150 discs with very few duplicates. In fact they're taking up so much room I have to move a number of them to even get the tray open.

Then recently I got a CED player and some of those kind of discs. Included with one lot are "He-Man" v.1 and 2, among others. I'm waiting for a certain website to get back to selling because I want the rare "Yor, the Hunter from the Future" videodisc.

I need to get the BSG 2.0 seasons 1 & 2 because, like every other continuing series, I tend to lose track of the episodes, sometimes never even having time to set the VCR. This happened to me the last three seasons of "24."

Nice little collection. I tend to see Laser Discs all the time at the flea markets & never even think to thumb thru them. Not sure if you've already tried this, but www.half.com has laser discs. People list them under vhs & in the description they say, "Laser Disc.....etc."

The only (2) I have are "Weird Al" Yankovics: UHF & The Videos. I am looking for the Compleat Al now. Good luck with your collection. 8)  

I have a Pioneer 704 LD player. It kicks ass. I have about 20-30 LD's. I a Star Wars box set and NBX box set. Also have like 6 Criterion movies.

I haven't tried half.com yet but I go to shopgoodwill.com all the time. discountlaserdisc.com is usually a good source but they know what every title is worth.

One of the biggest reasons I wanted an LD player before finding one was so I could get the last pre-"Special Edition" "Star Wars" discs, the ones put out around '95 or so that had been cleaned up, and I knew everything I have on VHS would deteriorate.

Since then I've also bought myself a video capture interface (ADS Tech DVDExpress, $80 at Wal-Mart) so I can preserve discs and tapes in a more permanent form.

Speaking of DVD's, I heard today that while nobody knows the expected lifetime of a DVD-R, some say every time you play a burned disc it wears out a little more. It seems counter-intuitive to me but has anyone else heard of this?

Watched "The Island" last night. Was it inspried from a foreign film? Though I wasn't a fan of it being drawn out over and over or the action packed scenes, I did enjoy some questions it brings about...humanity, souls, death, religion, ethics, technology/science.

Yea it was an pretty good movie.

I think it would have done better if it came out a few years ago though.
It didn't realy bring anything new to the table.

Although i believe it was a remake anyways.

I purchased this from the cyberpunks & they converted the original tapes to DVD & the quality is phenomenal. It has a bunch of interviews & how they made certain games....totally worth the money.

Never heard of either movie.

Stella at 20 intrigues me though.

UFO files is on the history channel right now.

24 is on FOX in 7 minutes.

I started watching 24 but then I missed an episode and it just fell apart from there.

How they made each game using only 4k. David Crane made Pitfall with 256 screens using a random generated program. Bunch of problems they encountered & how they conquered them. I actually have only seen Volume 2. Volume 1 isn't for DVD yet. They did the same thing with the VHS editions. I guess once you have vol 2, you have to get 1. lol.

It is good in a quirky unexplainable way...

My parents are avid CSI Miami fans. They called me down to see this episode last night where young adults play "real life" video games. I did not see the entire show so I am not sure how it worked. The end result was that they got so caught up in it they robbed banks and hurt people???

It didn't appear that they were sendning any messages across about vg being harmful, but that doesn't mean that people like my parents don't interpret the images/storyline to be that way :)

I watched the newest D&D movie (yes I'm lame) and was surprised at how it was actually kinda almost good. After the first one with the ginormous budget and the kinda good actors sucked monkey balls, but this one, with nobody actors and no budget, was good, like really good.

Donnie Darko. Talk about an interesting movie. Gotta credit it for originality.

I wasn't too impressed by Donnie Darko, thought it was trying to hard to be something. Although I was playing Killzone at the same time I watched it so maybe I missed something.

In my opinion, it's not so much that it was trying too hard to be something, but that it tried too hard to embellish things that had little to do with the plot (such as the people around him trying to subconciously stop him from doing whatever it was he had to do).

Back on topic, I'm checking into the Matrix again. I need to really get around to the sequels, although I heard they aren't as good.

They suck, probably do yourself better just ignoring them and imagining they're as good as the first one.

Watching the Shawshank Redemption now. I've seen it before, too, and all I can say is that it's an absolutely brilliant movie.

I just saw the Matrix: Reloaded and the Matrix: Revolutions. They were nowhere near as good as the Matrix. Two thumbs down.

I just watched 3+ hours of Icons on G4. Pretty much covered the entire history of video games. Now I'm watching Dirty Harry. I love cable but it seems better as a treat at grandmas because if I had it at home I'd never do anything.

The War at Home is surprisingly good. A lot of people say it's just a clone of Grounded for Life, but I see one difference. This show's funny and people watch it.

Usual Suspects doesn't deserve what it gets, I mean it was an OK caper kind of movie but no way in hell does it deserve it's current place on the imdb top 250 (15th). A friend told me that if I like Fight Club so much I should check out Usual Suspects and it would "blow my mind." Oh yeah, real shocking twist. Maybe it was because I'd seen K-Pax first but I had figured out the "twist" five minutes into the thing.

 Usual Suspects kicks ass.

After Wild Bunch watch Man Bites Dog not a Peckinpah movie but it is a great movie. Mike started a thread here about how great it is.

Well, although it doesn't deserve to be #15 in IMDB's Top 250, a lot of those votes are biased and done by voters who just want to see movies they like be high up there.

Anyway, I'm watching the Shawshank Redemption right now. (#2 in the Top 250. XD)

Lat Night I watched Dead and Breakfast, Its the same genere like Shaun of the dead. Pretty funny and gory movie. I recomend it.

It was pretty damn good.

Yeah Dawn was awesome. Fast zombies are weird.

Just watched the Da Vinci Code. I figured I'd hate it since I hate Dan Brown and his horrible plots but I, unlike everyone else in the world, actually enjoyed the movie better than the book. I'd give a 7.75/10.

I also really enjoyed the Dawn of the Dead (2004)....I generally don't care too much about zombie movies because they tend to have too much in common most of the time, but I really liked the humor in this one :)

I just got done watching The Mask of Zoro & The legend of Zoro for the first time. I'm currently on season 9 of friends. I think we have a few more episodes and we're of to 10. I also watched Derailed the other night and I thought it was okay, just wouldn't buy it on dvd.

Just saw Clerks II. Incredible, it manages to be extremely raunchy yet still be a good movie. It's chock full of current and geekin' stuff that the Clerk generation will love.

Highly recommended just don't take your grandma.

Right now I'm watching Metalocalypse on Adult Swim. Yet another home run from Adult Swim. They are on a roll lately with all these new shows (well, except Robot Chicken, which has always been mostly awful).

Last nights episode had Riker and Troy from TNG interacting with the Enterprise crew via the holodeck.

My wife loves this show. I may give it a chance this upcoming season.

I finally finished the Scary Movie series with 3 &4 the other night.

Just watched Jay Leno's monologue. One bit that stood out: "This year's SAT scores are down by the highest percentage in 31 years. On the other hand, video game scores are up!"

Finished Champloo, pretty damn good. Bebop had a little better writing though, Champloo seemed like it ran out of ideas half way through. But here's hoping Wantabe has some more something in him.

I watched the remake of The Bad News Bears the other night. The one with Billy Bob Thornton as Morris Buttermaker. It was meh. It had it's moments but the kids in the original were far more entertaining. I got it for $3 bucks on VHS from Toys R Us.

I watched Waterworld a few days ago. I picked that one up at a thrift for $2. I'd like to see the extended version on DVD. Some of the scenes cut for the theatrical release really explain some of the scenes that made no sense.

Just got done watching Silent Hill...i gave it a 3 out of 5....good movie ( i never played the games ) but i didnt like the ending......i dont know how my feelings about this would have been had i played the games before.....

Finished the first season of Prison break in 1 week! Just downloaded the first 3 episodes from iTunes/video-Tvshows for 1.99 a piece. This show is great and I can't wait till Monday!

It was a decent movie. Glad it was free though.

This film is as pleasant as rolling in excrement and then washing it off with four year old urine. I can't see anyone actually enjoying a film this bad. I won't describe anything because I know people will want to see this just because no one will ever enjoy it. Its like driving pass a car wreck, you got to look, its in our nature.

Watched The Departed at the movies last night. Awesome movie. Jack Nicholson was great as the Irish Mafia boss, and I don't think I could fault a single thing about it.

I just watched a 2-hour show about Brazil.  It was very interesting.  Did you know that Brazil had received 5 times as many African slaves as the US?  They also have a soccer tournament that consists of 600 teams and lasts for 6 months...can't remember the name of the tourny atm...

I watched a travel show about Brazil that my mom got for me when I was about twelve. It had naked chicks in it. I remember lots of naked chicks. Naked chicks on beaches, naked chicks in Rio parades, naked chicks in clubs. Lots of naked chicks. Makes me wish I was in Brazil.

I just got done watching Grandma's Boy and X3:  The Last Stand from Netflix.  I have to say, both were really good movies.  Grandma's Boy was pretty funny and it's all about video games and nerdy gamers.  X3 was just a great comic book movie....with an amazing ending....also, if you have it or rent it and haven't done so, fast forward through all of the end credits....there is an extra bonus scene at the end of the credits........

I just got done watching movie # 3 for today (yes, I had nothing better to do today)...this one was The Order (an old Van Damme flick I picked up awhile ago)....pretty cheesy action flick about a holy war in the middle east......decent movie, but it's one i'll probably never watch again.....

For the job I have at my Grad. School, we have to attend diversity and leadership programs and seeing this film was one of them, so I couldn't make it to the showing at the school, so I rented it instead.

Decent movie about a contemporary issue that people tend to avoid discussing.

I finally saw Donnie Darko on Monday.  Weird movie, but I really liked it.  I'm going to have to buy the directors cut now.

Went to the movies and watched Saw III last night with Vicky. Don't think she watched any of it though she just seemed to be looking at my shoulder with her fingers in her ears. Shes so gay sometimes.
Anyway I though the story was a little bit crap and the whole movie just seemed to be a set-up to show as much gore as possible. The section with the brain surgery was quite disturbing.

Oh man i wanted to see that so bad.
Now i have a good review which gives me more reason to hunt it down.

Yeah, the first time I watched it I thought it was just OK.  The second time I watched it, it was freeking hilarious.   Good movie.

I highly recommend it! Love the dry, dark humor in it.

Watched Kingpin and Xmen3: the Last Stand over the weekend. X3 exceeded my expectations...it was very good. And I loved the ending (definitely watch past the credits).

Kingpin was good, too, but not the Farrelly brothers's best work, imo. Randy Quaid was great as the Amish guy, though. Hokey ending, but definitely worth seeing.

Just got done watching The Breakfast Club (I'm at work now, but it was a dead day today, I didn't even have to pause it once.) It was a pretty good movie, I had never seen it before.  It is one of those teen '80s movies that I have devoted a side collection to (I read an article in undergrad about teen 80s movies, so I made it my goal to buy and watch them all.)

It doesn't really drag on, though. Despite being set entirely along a river in the jungle, the scenes are always changing. They go from attacking a village and surfing afterwards/during the attack to a stageshow with Playboy bunnies soon after, and on to a French settlement a long way up the river. It's about the woes and pointlessness of war and ends on a line from the target; "The horror... The horror..."

The first time I watched it I was left wondering why they didn't show the journey back down the river, but then I realised they had no need once it had climaxed. The whole story was building up to this one moment, showing them pooting merrily back down the river would have just added a boring half hour to the end of it.

Maybe I missed it but I didnt see what the big deal was about Apocolypse Now. I thought it was boring.

I watched Borat this morning. I'm glad I "rented" it for free. The funniest bit was when he bagged Pamela Anderson.

It didn't help that the screen was about 2 X 3 inches.

Just got done watching Night And Fog (Criterion Collection) --- some of the images in the film are very disturbing images of real events from the Holocaust......very very horrific.....

A lot of people have compared these two movies for some reason, I guess because they came out at the same time. But Borat so obviously is the better movie it isn't even funny (actually it is pretty damn funny). Hmm, let's go see a crapfest about people being killed in creative ways or lets go see some dudes crazy awesome social experiment.

People who don't like Borat don't get Borat. People who sue Borat don't get Borat.  People who say they like Borat, but don't get Borat, are idiots. People who get Borat, and like it, are awesome because I'm in that group.

Watched Cars this weekend. Was pretty funny at times.

I thought borat was funny too.
But if anything it was too short.

I wanted to see more rediculous antics or at least longer sections of the rediculous antics.

Saw 3 happened to be running at the same time as Borat thats why i said Saw 3.

If Happy Feet had been running i would have said i was glad to go see Borat ;)
(even though that movie does look slightly interesting.....)

Just got done watching The Most Dangerous Game (Criterion Collection) .... really great movie for 2006, so I can just imagine how awesome it must have been seeing this when it came out in 1933.

The wife and I watch the first two parts of "From Here to Eternity" (1979, five hour) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078616/) not the 1953 movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045793/). But we had things to do, so now I have to wait until it is on again(Friday, Nov. 24) because it is not on DVD.

So far I think it is a very good film.

Just watched Brothers, a foreign film (Danish w/ English subs) about 2 brothers, one of whom goes to Afghanistan and is presumed dead after a plan crash, the other who takes care of his widowed wife and 2 daughters

very good movie, and who would have thought there would be a movie about a war over there that wasn't about the US

Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 - An ok time filler. It wasn't particularly bad but it was all right.

Hellraiser - Amusing but could have been so much better. They needed more "horror" in it.

I like to watch a movie a night....weekends when my girlfriend isn't around I'll watch 2 or 3 a day.....so i watch my netflix movies, plus im trying to catch up on my backlog of movies that i own but havent watched yet....

I cant sit for that long. Hell I have a hard time getting through a 60 minute TV show.

i can get through 3 hour movies with ease, but i cant stand even 1/2 hour tv shows....commercials drive me nuts....

I haven't had much time to do anything but study, but I had a few downloads from iTunes that I got. I've been watching:

Commercials have nothing to do with it. I just cant be in teh same place doing the same thing for that long.

Just saw Stranger than Fiction and it was awesome. Ron Burgandy ;) is serious for once and the movie raises some awesome issues. A good movie all around, if you're a wannabe writer like me it's a must.

well, watched another movie today....The Da Vinci Code....I got my 2-Disc Gift Set in the mail today and everyone wanted to watch it......great movie, even on the second viewing....

well The Maligned Leon, you were right...Oldboy was a pretty great movie....

The flash back scene at the end, when Woo Jin is on the elevator, is one of the most awesome and powerful scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

I saw Employee of the Month, craptacular. Shame on Dane Cook for selling out to that damn hollywood crowd. Although I suppose he's probably their prodigy.

Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) is really the only good one. Mad Max 1 is alright, but has little relevance and makes little sense compared to the last two movies. MM 3 has too much budget for it's own good, and Tina Turner, and it's pg-13!!!!! WTF? Mad Max can't be pg-13!!
But I suppose it's entertaining.

Casino Royale was incredible. Best Bond in forever. Although I wasn't sure why the dude was like Spiderman in the beginning.

I've not seen Casino Royale but anything must be better than Die Another Day with its invisible cars and space-lasers.

Oh incredibly better than all that crap. It goes back to the roots, the car chase...is awesome. And you'll only know what I mean after you see it.
