The Wireless Controller by Doc's utilizes an IR sensor to connect with a dongle that is plugged into the Nintendo 64 Control Deck. Two control stick variants were released: the red joystick variant utilizes a PlayStation-style analogue stick and has a battery door that slides away from the controller, whereas the grey joystick variant has a Nintendo 64-style joystick and has a battery door that locks in place with a clip. The red joystick variant also has 6 ridges on the center prong while the grey joystick variant is smooth.
The grey joystick variant was also released with two variants: with and without built-in rumble. The built-in rumble variant also appears to only have been released in a two pack whereas the non-rumble pack variants were released in both single and two packs. Built-in rumble variants appear visually the same, but are slightly heavier due to the rumble motor.
There were also two dongle variants released: the variant with two controller plugs has two switch positions, R and M. Players using this dongle will only need to set the P1/P2 switches on their controllers. The dongle with a single controller plug has the switch positions of P1 and P2, meaning players with two Wireless Controllers would need to connect each dongle to the console and set the P1/P2 switches on the dongle and controller to the matching position.
