I'm going to go a little out of my comfort zone on this review and do something non-Nintendo. This spectacular little gem on the Saturn is an absolutely must play in my opinion. It does have its flaws (to its credit most games at the time had the same problems), but its strengths are more than enough to make up for them.

I have started setting up all my games and systems at my new house.  This was a bigger project then I thought, I have finally got my Sega Games organized (-Dreamcast) and I have soooo many doubles on Genesis and Master System(3 large boxes). I guess I need to start selling stuff.  If people want to trade for games I have I am trying to get a larger PS3 and DS collection so, any one in need of gaming goodness let.

Anyway next to do is all the Nintendo stuff.  Right know Ive got 7 bookcases full of my games and systems.

I hope to have all my games alphabetized and organized by the end of the month.

this may not make any scence but its my first blog Smiley

Posted under RFG Thanks, Submissions, Thanks

December has generally been one of the slowest months of the year for submissions, but that certainly was not the case for December 2009. There was an astounding 3,723 submissions in December, 1,254 of those were image submissions, there were 802 image and hardware additions, and 1,346 page edits.

The top ten submitters of the month were also those that had 100 or more submissions, and were: Paully3433, ga5ket, Link41, ApolloBoy, logical123, Madir, bickman2k, Spoon, NES_Rules, and Malingo. Those ten members submitted an amazing 84% of the total submissions, a huge 'thank you' goes out to all of them. But I'd also like to thank those of you that submitted the other 16%, because every submission, no matter how small, helps make our database better.

The top five staff reviewers of all those submissions were: NES_Rules, ApolloBoy, Madir, ga5ket, and bum_man. Without these guys approving your submissions, they would just sit in queue forever, so we should all be very thankful for them.

Now that 2009 is over, its time to thank everyone that has helped RF Generation throughout the year. The top ten submitters of 2009 were: ga5ket, y2richie, ApolloBoy, Funk_Buddy, Madir, NES_Rules, Izret101, Pop Culture Portal, audiman83, and Paully3433. Of those ten, eight had over a thousand submissions, a truly impressive feat. These ten members submitted a total of 68% of all submissions made in 2009. These people are clearly dedicated to keeping RF Generation as THE Classic and Modern Video Game Database.

The top five staff reviewers for 2009 were NES_Rules, ga5ket, ApolloBoy, Tan, and Madir. together they approved almost 15,000 submissions throughout the year. My hat goes off to all you for that feat as well.

For 2009, we had 211 different member submit at least one thing over the course of the year. Together, those members submitted a total 34,883 submissions, of those 17,056 were image submissions, 9,812 were page edits and 5,025 were game/hardware title additions.
With those combined with previous years, puts our database at around 48,000 game titles, 3,500 hardware titles, 52,000 scans, and 28,000 screenshots.

Truly, 2009 was an outstanding year for submissions, but 2010 can be an even better year, and I have a feeling that it will be. But it won't without the help of everyone, so contribute anything you can this year, scans your games and then your friends' games, fill in missing information, whatever you can to help the database grow.

I just got into thinking, on gamesniped, nicola made a post about what he would put as museum pieces for a gaming museum. I was just wondering if there was a proper permanent Video Game Museum or Gallery, what would be in it?

2009 was another great year for RF Generation, we saw many new members discover our little slice of the internet, thousands of additions to our database and hundreds of new blog posts containing everything from members' collection updates to dozens of game reviews to systems reviews to historical background and information. But enough of last year, out with the old and in with the new. 2010 is sure to be another great year for RF Generation, and that great year is starting out with some new staff members.
Those new staff members are Logical123 and Paully3433, and they are the newest DB Contributors. Along with these two individuals joining the staff, there was was also the promotion of Izret101 from DB Contributor to DB Reviewer.

Also coming up this year will be a slight change to the PlayStation section of the database. That change will be the addition of all known variations that we don't currently have. These will include the different types of "long box" variants and rereleases. Check back often for updates on the progress being made there.

Here are some goals for the database that I would like us to meet this year, some will be easy, others are going to be more challenging:

 • 50,000 total games

 • 4,000 total hardware entries

 • 60,000 scans

 • 30,000 screenshots

These are not the only things in store for RF Generation in 2010, so be sure to keep it tuned right here to Channel 4 for all the latest and greatest.

2009 was another great year for treasure hunting and for adding to my collection. Overall, I added over 400 new titles to my collection and even managed to sell a few duplicates. If you want to see every thing I bought or traded for this year, you can go here but I doubt very many of you want to do that, so below is my top ten favorite deals of the year.

When talking about "unloved" games I think this one takes the cake so far. Most of the other games I have featured I have at least heard mentioned in some capacity. However, I have not heard one person mention Legacy of the Wizard in my many years of playing and collecting video games. Its a shame because its a spectacular NES title that deserves some attention.

Hello Guys and Gals!!,

2009 was an excellent year for us, our YouTube channel has seen almost 800,000 hits since February and although I personally had no commercial deals or any major news, this was the best year ever!!  We came so close to the 2,000 game goal, we made it to 1,920, however the 50 system goal was obliterated!!  We made it to 59 (60 if you want to count the non-operational Colecovision) systems as of December 27th!  In 2010, our website has a goal to hit 2 million hits, reach 1,500 videos (yes I said I would reach 1,000 by 2010 and only ended up at 551!), and nail 2 commercial deals and to get help from the biggest and brightest.  For the first time since 1998, the Lancaster City Dragonrats are going to recruit for new people to help the Dragonrats become the Kings of the Gaming Universe again like we did in the Mid-1990's with major victories in the Mortal Kombat Tourneys, and also NFL Blitz and to start a great revolution that started in Southeastern Pennsylvania that eventually reached Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Virginia Beach and now abroad to Japan, Puerto Rico and England!!  As the Co-Founder, along with Janos "Johnny" Meszaros and the few remaining members of the Class of 1995's induction, we plan on making the 15th year of our group the best ever!!  We will not be as picky as we were in 1995, but we need to have only the most knowledgeable and best to help us so if you want to volunteer for the Dragonrats let us know!  We are looking for people to make videos, write reviews and to kick butt in tournaments, we have not won an allout tournament since 2003.  I have since retired as a professional gamer, however I will always help out to the younger community!  Please email me with any questions you have at NorfolkState2003@yahoo.com and as always check out my YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/LCDragonrats

Many Thanks, Cya in 2010!!

Stealing the idea from dom meatball ( Wink ), I've decided to post a list for all, and myself to refer to, and hopefully, for once, I can meet more than 0 of my year's goals!

1: Get all the Sega Consoles and their variants
-This shouldn't be too hard, as long as I don't make myself get them CIB as well as all the box variants. I need: Sega Pico, Sega Nomad, Sega CDX, Sega Master System II, Sega Saturn Oval buttons, Sega Dreamcast Sega Sports Edition, Sega CD 1, and the Sega Game Gear Blue Edition. I will be getting the JVC Wondermega/X'Eye some time in January from Marriot guy, as well as a CIB Master System I and Saturn round button. The only difficult ones in that lot are the CDX and Nomad.

2: Get to 100 N64 games
-Again, not too hard. I only need 42 or so to get there, so not much of a problem at all.

3: Work on the Sonic collection
-Kind of vague, but I just want to add some more Sonic titles to my library, hopefully so that one day I will own them all, including variants. Genesis is my main concern, with the only Sonic titles that I need being the Sonic 3 All-Stars, and any other Compilation carts and variants that I've missed, which shouldn't be many, if any at all.

4: Pass 450 games
-This is ambitious, considering I'm sitting at roughly 325 games now. I need to recheck all my games to make sure I've added everything, but even then, 125 games is a long way off. Tongue

5: Have fun collecting!!!
-This is a given! Cheesy

So, I hope I achieve some of these. The most probable achievements in order are 5, 3, 2, 1, 4. Here's to a great year of collecting!!!

Happy/Merry Christmas/Hanukha/Quanza/Holidays everyone! It's Christmas Eve and like the tradition goes, me, my sister and my parents get presents from eachother, then get pressies from the rest of my family on Christmas Day! So today I got money, a poster, the Guinness World Records Book and DJ HERO!!!

Not only that but a parcel arrived at my door, Cyborg 009!

I may open this sealed game because I heard it's quite good and I might want to play it. I paid 4.28 for it. Well all I can say is now everyone have a great and fun time!!

Total cost:
577.53

NOTE: Futher checking from last time, I now have 51 Games is you count Cobra Command/Sol-Feace as one game, because they were bundled together in Europe. Therefore if you don't I actually have 52 so sorry for jumping the gun ^^'

Posted under collection, goals, playstation

Becoming a more active member of RF, I submit to you my first blog entry.

As the new year approaches, I sit here looking at my collection and ponder. "What is my collection missing?" I think to myself. I've done this for the past 2 or 3 years, then I set a few goals for myself. Goals include adding certain numbers to certain systems as well as specific games that I'm targeting. Well this year I want to make a more formal project out of it. So here I will post my overall collection goals for the year 2010 and periodically update my progress (whether anyone reads or not). Ebay will not be used for any of this collecting.

GOAL #1: Reach 150 PlayStation (1) games.

I'm currently at 113 PlayStation games, so 37 will achieve this goal. Yearly sport games obviously don't count towards this goal as with any number related goals. Also, within those 37 titles I wish to add 5 or so Long Box PS games to my list.

Specific PlayStation (1) targets:
- Persona
- Clock Tower 2
- Final Fantasy VIII
- Resident Evil 2 (Dual Shock / Black Label)
- Resident Evil: Director's Cut (Greatest Hits)
- Twisted Metal (Long Box)
- Tomba
- Team Buddies
- The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

GOAL #2: Strengthen My PSP Collection.

My PSP collection is the weakest of my Sony consoles. I have a list of about 15+ PSP titles that I would like to add this year.

- Gran Turismo
- LittleBigPlanet
- Prinny
- Hammerin Heroes
- Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
- Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Star Ocean First Departure
- Star Ocean Second Evolution
- Loco Roco
- Loco Roco 2
- Patapon
- Jeanne D' Arc
- All the Monster Hunter Games

GOAL #3: Complete My Resident Evil (US Releases and Variants) Collection [PC excluded]

I have a a few PS1 variants left to obtain as well as the Dreamcast and Gamecube ports, and a few random variants here and there. I'll update later with a list.

GOAL #4: Complete Version of Earthbound.

I try for this every year and fail miserably without the help of ebay.

GOAL #5: Complete my US Metal Gear Solid Collection and begin working on my Japanese Metal Gear Solid Collection.

US MGS games needed are:

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (Greatest Hits, PS2)
The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (Red cover, Limited Edition, PS2)
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP)
Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel (PSP)
Metal Gear Solid 4: (Limited Edition, PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes (Players Choice, GC)

GOAL #6: Start A Sega CD Collection.

I'm not looking for any specific games (besides Snatcher). I would just like to start a collection for this console and hit about 20 games for it by the years end.

GOAL #7 (Final Goal): Obtain All US Capcom releases for the original Xbox.

This is my first real step towards a complete US Capcom collection. I've been buying Capcom games for all systems at random. I will continue to do that but I want to put most of my focus on one system. So I'll start with a rather easy system, the Xbox.

[UPDATE: Added a list of the Xbox games I need. If I'm missing any on this list please let me know.]
Auto Modellista
Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance
Capcom Classics Collection
Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2
Capcom Fighting Jam
Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO
Darkwatch
Dino Crisis 3
Final Fight: Streetwise
Genma Onimusha
Group S Challenge
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Pro Cast Sports Fishing
Steel Battalion
Steel Battalion: Line of Contact
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection

Well those are my goals. Hopefully I can reach most of these by years end. I feel that I might be reaching too high though. Updates will be up.

Yesterday I recieved Eternal Champions: Challenge of the Darkside, originally it was on Buy It Now for 16.99 (lower than I usually find it), but out of luck, the guy accepted an offer I made of 15, and now it's here!

So now I've achieved 50 games!! As far as I know, there are a little over 210 official unique game releases, this means I'm less than 1/4 of my collection complete!
