Capcom promised a "Megaton announcement" for October 17 and boy have they delivered with the announcement of Street Fighter IV. No Turbo HD Remix, no spinoff, just fresh fighting action. The release date is still undetermined and projected to be a year or two away. The only tease we have is a newwebsite, showing a tease of a trailer.
With the series sitting 10 years dormant, I'm hungry for something new. Keep it up Capcom! Also, Resident Evil 5 and RE: Umbrella Chronicles are looking good too.
Actually this is last Wednesday's news (2007.10.17), but outstanding news anyways.
I'll admit, I really dig the idea of LittleBigPlanet. If Sony wasn't so keen on dicking over consumers with each new iteration of the PS3, I'd almost be tempted to buy one. The game is so damn cute.
Asides from the innovative gameplay and graphical style, the thing I tend to have embedded in my mind is the really catchy theme that plays during the previews. It's mesmerizing. Well, I was listening to my favorite internet radio station when I heard the LittleBigPlanet theme playing, in all it's mesmerizing glory. I thought that was pretty damn cool.
Well, it turns out that the LittleBigPlanet theme is actually Get it Together by The Go! Team, based out of Briton England. I recommend that you check out the theme if you have not done so already. I've embedded it for you listening pleasure.
One year ago, on October 16, 2006 I posted in the Collection Milestones thread that I had finally reached a total of 500 games. And now on October 16, 2007 I have surpassed that number by 260%, thats right in one year, I have accumulated approximately 800 games. A few weeks ago, I noticed that I was getting close to 1,000 more and that has been my goal since then, but I didn't quite make it. Now, some of you may notice that my current collection number doesn't match what my profile on here says, but I'm counting the 347 duplicate games I own but not games that are box/manual only. If anyone went to the link, you may notice that I also passed 100 Atari VCS games on that day, well I sit here today with 280 total VCS games, which is an increase of 280%, almost the same as my total increase. I just thought that was kind of interesting to note. So, now the real question is if I can double the current number before this time next year. And since I plan to sell off a good part of those duplicate games, it should be very hard to do.
So i have been posting about moving into this awesome 2bedroom 2 batth apartment in a little "community" it looked aweseom and was very affordable(under 500 a month).
We went out under a week ago to talk to them and pick up the paper work and take care of all the other happy horse shit that is involved with renting an apartment. They said they would hold one of the 2 rentals for us so we could get back-paystubs for proof of income.
Today i picked up 2 money orders(1 for each of the forms we had to fill out) for 13 bucks. Drive the 45 mins- an hour out there to be told that YESTERDAY they took deposits on BOTH of them to be rented.
But its ok because they still have a couple 1 bedrroms that will be opening up or a 2 bed 2 bath for almost 800 a month. Because i want to spend 2 weeks pay on rent and car bills alone.
The girls we had dealt with then asked me again for my name and number which pissed me off even more since we had left it last time and they were so willing to help out and take care of this that and the other thing.
But not enough to call me before i drove all the way out their like an asshole to put money down on the rooms they rented to someone else. Or even bother to remember that either of us had even been there for that matter.
Foxnews has an article up today in which an MIT researcher predicts marriage to robots will be legalized by 2050. He says it's only a matter of time before electronic sex dolls are indistinguishable from real people. We may even see some primitive attempts in the next 5 years. You can read it yourself.
I, for one, am totally pumped. Think about it. It's all of the perks (hehe) with none of the shopping trips, nagging trick questions, dinner parties, formal occasions, chick flicks and whatnot. I could even get one that looks like Morgan Webb!
The article states “The main benefit of human-robot marriage could be to make people who otherwise could not get married happier, 'people who find it hard to form relationships, because they are extremely shy, or have psychological problems, or are just plain ugly or have unpleasant personalities,' Levy said.”
The entire video gaming community should be ecstatic.
This adds a whole new level to what we do. I'd like to take this time to step up and personally offer to be the content editor for all future sexaroid related entries here on the RFgeneration.com database.

Well my second blog is for sad news. But at least this time I am not pissed! Kari's cat Nikki has to be put to sleep. She has cancer really bad in her abdomen. Since she is 17 years old and any surgery would probably kill her we have decided not to go that route. She has been diabetic since 2005 and has been getting two insulin shots a day.
The last month or so her health has been going downhill. So we take her to the vet and her diabetes is OK but now her liver levels are off the chart. She starts 2 liquid meds and a pill in addition to her insulin and potassium supplement. The vet says if this helps the liver levels will drop pretty fast. You might be asking yourself what is a liver level. Well for a cat it should be around 130. Nikki's was off the scale and the vets scale goes upto 999. So she is on these new meds for a week and her level is still off the chart. In that week she looses a pound. Well that really sucks she is now on a second pill.
Just a recap that's 1 pill, 2 liquid meds, insulin, potassium supplement and wet food in the morning and at night 2 pills, 2 liquid meds, and wet food.
Ok back to the vet we go after another week on the new pill. Success! Her liver is doing better. It is now in the 800 range still really high but coming down. She gained a little bit of weight back also. So we are happy.
That was last Wednesday. Over the weekend we notice she is walking funny, not eating, and she is sleeping more then normal. So Kari calls the vet this morning and they say bring her in. The vet seems really concerned. Kari leaves Nikki and the vet and they are going to do a bunch of tests on her. The vet says she looks great but only the front half. She is purring, alerts and seems happy. The back half not so good. She is having a harder time walking now even since last night. So Kari leaves her there and heads in to work. I get a call and Kari is crying. Nikki has cancer real bad. There is a huge lump in her abdomen. The vet is sure it is cancer. We knew do to her liver being messed up that cancer might be the cause. It was a huge let down since the good news last week.
So tomorrow at 3:00PM we have an appointm%nt to put her to sleep. It sucks really bad but it is what is best for her. She has had a great live and we don't want her to suffer. Kari has had her all 17 years. This is the only bad part of being a pet owner. She might be gone but she will never be forgotten.
And God asked the feline spirit Are you ready to come home? Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul And, as a cat, you know I am most able To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God. Soon, replied the whiskered angel But I must come slowly For my human friends are troubled For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God That you'll never leave them? That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity? That nothing is created or destroyed? It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand, Replied the glorious cat For I will whisper into their hearts That I am always with them I just am....forever and ever and ever.
My birthday is in less than a month and my gran and aunt have "given" 200 for me to buy something special for my 21st with. I say "given" because the money isn't the present. Whatever I buy will be wrapped up and handed over on my birthday. I've decided on another watch (I have four already) but I don't know what else to buy with the other ~100.
I've been interested in a pair of 5.1 Headphones for a while but the one I would like is 75 at the cheapest of only two places I can find selling them. Would a very expensive pair of headphones be a good present for myself? I'm probably only looking for reassurance but I could easily be talked out of it because of the price. They're called Sharkoon X-Tatic.
I don't want to buy more games because they get old quickly and aren't really "special". But then would headphones be "special" just because they cost a lot? I don't want to make my gran and aunt feel like they've wasted some money on me.
(The question marks in front of numbers are supposed to be pound signs)
5 minutes later: I found the headphones on a computer website I like to use for only 65 + postage which is actually free for me because of a deal with another site I use.
The Saturn Database is slowly being completed. I am putting all of the UPCs, Part #s, and Ratings in, but we still need scans!!!
Check out the Image database and see what scans are missing. We need just a couple Front and Back Scans, Quite a few Manual scans, and some game scans. Let's get the database finished!!!
With more of the database finished, it will be easier to see if you have that ultra rare Mortal Combat variant that you have been wanting. Finishing the database is all good!!!
Also, site appeal will go up, and more members may actually register! The big collection guys such as izret, tan, and nes_rules have done so many scans its not funny, so even if you can't do scans, try putting in part numbers and such, on any game for any system. Give back to the best gaming site there is, RFGeneration!!!!
Edit: Im soooooo sorry i forgot to put you in there Tan! Lets give him a round of applause!!
Well I sold a lot of my collection. I decided it was time to start over. And, here is what I got:
Nintendo Wii: *First Wii* *First console of this gen*
Let me start by saying if you are going to get this system, make sure you have another system with tons of games you like in your set up already. Don't get me wrong, the Wii is awesome, but the lack of games gets to you very fast. I got my home and opened the box, played Wii sports for a while, and while it was fun I wished I had bought a game. Then the next day I went to rent Zelda, and I will say it is awesome. Everyone says it does not feel like a real Zelda, but it's just all the OoT fanboys finding something to wine about. If you have a Wii or GCN, go try this game out. I ten bought Metroid Prime 3 (Coming up later in the post). Now that there is no games I want to play besides Super Paper Mario, I am left with nothing to play. I am looking forward to SMG, Brawl, REUC, and Fire Emblem, but that's it for this year. I can say while I am not upset at my buy, I will be picking up a 360 very soon.
Metroid Prime 3
Well all I can say is this game gets the GotY from me. Great graphs, voice acting, gameplay, ect. Go pick this one up.
Here we have it. That game of the century! Well, not quite, but we do have a fairly pleasant little game here to feature.
This game, Dolphin, is a fun concept that uses one of the smartest animals on the planet as it's hero. Well, he would be a hero if the game actually had a story line. In Dolphin you are trying to get away from the evil giant squid that is chasing you. There's even a way to make the chaser become the pursued! Give the game a shot and then post your high score in our Atari 2600 scoring thread!
Our featured image is for Gopher by US Games. I've never played this game, but look at the cute little guy eating a carrot. Precious. If anything, maybe it'll give you a good laugh thinking about Caddyshack or something.
The featured hardware is the Wico Command Control[Ball] for the Atari 2600. Ever use this controller? It was surprisingly easy to use and the metal design of the stick made it very easy to move around. It almost felt like 360 degree motion.
Lastly, our featured collection is of GagaMan. Although he doesn't have Atari 2600 things listed, he at least has a great Sega collection kicking. Check it out!
Well, that's another week of features from us at RFGeneration. Is there something you'd like to see featured? Please send me a message, and maybe you'll get to see it up on the front page! Thanks again for taking a look and remember to keep it tuned in to Channel 3 here at RFG.
My last day of work at my old job was the 6th of September. I was made redundant because the charity ran out of money and had to close down. I'm still waiting for my redundancy pay to come through but they say it should be less than six weeks from my application (About the 13th/14th of September). I haven't really been looking for another job until the last week.
My old employer referred me to a careers advice group who gave me some details about a catering job at the local football stadium. I said yes to them passing on my CV, which I didn't know I had.
Some friends have been looking out for me and have suggested some possible jobs. One of them was at a school as a food technician, preparing ingredients for classes. I didn't apply for that because of my phobia of schools.
Another one was at a theatre about thirty miles away as a marketing assistant. I'm going to apply for that because it sounds interesting. It would be proof reading programmes and posters, archiving press comments, distributing posters, etc. (Feel free to correct any mistakes I make)
Today I signed on for Job Seeker's Allowance. Yes, I'm sponging off the givernment [sic] but at least I'm actually looking for a job this time. I was on it two years ago but I was so drugged up I shouldn't have been looking for a job at all. I need to apply to two jobs a week to be able to get any money.
I got home this afternoon to an email from the football stadium asking me to go for a job interview in two weeks.
But I know naff-all about cooking, despite two years of working in a kitchen.
Update 15/10/2007: I found out the job at the football stadium isn't actually working in the conference rooms I was originally told it would be. It's going to be flipping burgers on match days. Great. I'll go to the interview anyway because I need to show I've been doing something for the Job Seeker's Allowance.

I was over at DP a few days ago, going through the forums like so many of us do, when I stumbled over a thread about a new forum for sealed game collectors. While I don't understand the appeal of it, it's not my collection why should I care? What amazed me, as it always amazes me, is that a community of people who collect video games would lash out at a smaller niche group of people who collect sealed video games.
The thing that really pissed me off about it was the arguements against it and the attmepts to make people collect the way others do. I personally collect more nintendo stuff than sega, sony, or other stuff, but I don't try to tell people who want to collect genny games that what they do is dumb and that they should collect NES instead. Why do people who collect a certain way, albeit out of the norm, get chastised for what they do?
After confirming the 40gb PS3 last week, Sony, apparently has another system up its sleeve. That's right. ANOTHER PS3 MODEL! This time, it's 160 GB.
According to a rumor posted on some ineternet forum (reliable isn't it) reposted on Com Net Slash, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is going to be releasing a new 160gb model of the PS3 this November. Here is what the rumored model of the PS3 will contain...
“The PS3 160gb will have a slightly upgraded Wi-Fi and Bluetooth receiver. Also the PS3 will be available in both Black and Silver, come with an unamed Blu-Ray movie, demos and trailers packed onto the HDD and a voucher for 2 PSN titles for the first number of customers”
“At the moment the unit is only confirmed for release in Japan. A date has not been fully specified but is expected after November”
3 ethernet ports? What are they going to do with those? Is the PS3 going to be a router? 2 HDMI ports? That's what Sony promised back in '05! I do like the sound of the 2 free PSN titles and the HD being loaded with demos and trailers.
Is this real? Well, I kind of want to say it is, but I really think 3 ethernet ports and 2 HDMI ports is a little over the top, however the rest seems very plausible
I know I've knocked Microsoft in the past for having so many models, but goddamn Sony, 5 PS3 models in the course of a year? That's almost one every other month.
As a reminder that small, 17 person teams, can make a game that looks far better than anything ever seen in gaming, I present Project Offset from an independent developer named "Offset Software".
After looking at this video you'll say "Gears of What? Crysis? Killzone Who? Those are *SOOOOOOOOOOOO* last gen."
And the game itself doesn't look like just a gigantic graphicsfest. There seems to be some real substance to it. Check out Project Offset's site to learn more about the game.
