Overview:
Clone of the arcade game Q*Bert, where the player (controlling the Vectrex mascot Spike) must hop on all triangles on a level in order to make them all the same shade of brightness in order to advance to the next level. A magic hourglass helps stop the action for a few seconds to help the player, along with discs to knock Spike's enemy Spud off the playfield, but unfortunately Upside-Down Monsters, balls, Spud, and an entity known as LOG will endanger the player in various unique ways.
Also contains a bonus hidden game.

Easter Eggs:
*To play the hidden game of Vectrepede, on the Spike Hoppin' title screen, holding down buttons 1 and 3, then pressing 4 accesses the game.
*When the copyright screen appears, holding down buttons 1, 2 and 4 will cause the Voyager ship from the Star Trek series to appear.
*In order to obtain infinite lives and skip levels, start a game, but don't score any points. Lose all your lives by jumping off the top triangle, then hold down button 4 and jump on your last life to enable these features. To skip levels from there, press button 1 on the controller.
