Overview:
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Curse of the Azure Bonds for the Commodore 64 is the third game (second in the story cycle) released in the venerable "Gold Box" series of Dungeons and Dragons computer role playing games.
The player controller characters, fresh from their victory at the city of Phlan (from Pool of Radiance, the first game in the "Gold Box" series) only to be accosted and branded with mysterious runes. Why has this happened? And what can the characters do to rid themselves of the mysterious runes?
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Curse of the Azure Bonds can accept imported characters from either Pool of Radiance on the Commodore 64 or Hillsfar on the Commodore 64. While you do not need to do so to play the game, importing characters will certainly make your journey easier.
The story is told partially through static cut scenes but primarily through the included Adventurer's Journal. When the game comes to a story point, it will often reference a page and paragraph number in the Journal that goes with the scene.
The copy protection in the game was a code wheel, similar to the one used for Pool of Radiance.
