Game Trivia:

  • Rescue on Fractalus was originally programmed and set for release in 1984.
Instructions:

  • Joystick: Moves your ship in the direction pressed. The Y-axis is reversed, so pushing up makes your ship dive and pushing down makes it climb.
  • Lower fire button: Fires your torpedoes.
  • Upper fire button: Not used.
  • Reset: Press when the game is paused to reset the game.
  • Start: Starts the game.
  • Pause: Pauses the game.
  • *: Lowers the game level.
  • #: Raises the game level.
  • 1: Lands your ship. You can only land your ship when it is below a certain altitude.
  • 2: Toggles your ship's systems on and off. Turn your systems off when you need to rescue a pilot.
  • 3: Opens your ship's airlock doors.
  • 6: Increases your ship's thrust.
  • 7: Fires your ship's boosters so that you can return to the mothership.
  • 9: Decreases your ship's thrust.
  • 0: Enters the demo mode on the starting screen.
