The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a remastered version of the classic action/RPG Nintendo 64 game, originally released in 1998. It features updated graphics and 3D effects, touch screen menus and the Master Quest's mode reworked dungeons

The game is set in the kingdom of Hyrule. As Link, the player must stop the thief and main antagonist, Ganondorf, who wants to obtain all the parts of the triforce, a sacred relic that grants the wishes of its holder. By traveling through time and using the Master Sword, Link navigates dungeons filled with monsters and puzzles to awaken sages who have the power to seal Ganondorf once and for all.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, doesn't need any introduction, every gamer know what it is and its importance to video game's history. Certainly the most famous chapter of the legendary Zelda series and one of the games that people begged the most for a remake. Thirteen years later, it came on Nintendo 3DS.

When we talk about a remake, surely the first thing people wonder is how superior it looks compared to the original release. The answer is much better, but not dramatically better. Characters and scenarios have more geometry, prettier textures, more elements and smother frame rate, but it is very faithful to the original art, that sometimes we're given a impression that there isn't much difference, but make no mistake about this, Ocarina of Time 3D looks as good as the majority of 3DS games.

Apart from the esthetic department, there are new levels, characters or missions? The answer is no, the core game remains unchanged, it plays exactly as you remember, but the gameplay held up really well for all this time, the game is still excellent, superior than most 3DS library, and Nintendo has added a few subtle but welcome additions such as touch screen menus that make easier to navigate, gyro controls that helps to aim, a boss rush mode and after completing the game for the first time, you get a new mode called Master Quest, which is a mirrored and harder version of the main quest. These are nice touches that improves what it is already good.

In conclusion, if you have a Nintendo 3DS or is considering to pick up one, consider Ocarina of Time 3D. It's not anymore the best game of all time, but it holds up very well compared to what we have today and is the definitive version of this beloved classic.My Score: 9.0
