Our yearly Pain Yourself With Submissions Contest kicks off in only a few days!  To enter, from July 1st until July 31st, you make as many submissions as you can. Our database staff will review the absurd amount of submissions, and at the end of it all, one of you gets an awesome prize package, which includes your choice of $60 worth of gaming goodness. Essentially, you win a shopping spree (not to exceed $60 and items have to be game related) on GameGavel, eBay, or Amazon, and we pick up the tab. Of course, you'll also be the coolest kid in town as you strut around in your new, official RF Generation Ringer T-shirt.  For official submission types and points and rules breakdown, see below. Best of luck to everyone!

I think that I speak for the entire staff here at RF Generation when I say that we are absolutely STUNNED by the amount of submissions that have already been added to the database during this year's Pain Yourself With Submissions contest.  So far, during the month of May alone, our dedicated database review staff has approved over 11,000.............YES, I said 11,000 new submissions to our database!  That's an absurd amount of submissions and it doesn't even include those submitted at the beginning of our contest in April, and certainly does not include the avalanche of submissions that we anticipate during the final week of the contest this month (contest ends June 8th).  I must say that I am very humbled and proud of the work our members have done during the contest and that your tireless efforts have gone a long way in making our database one, if not THE BEST, sources for video game-related information on the Internet.

Please remember that here are not only bragging rights at stake for the winner, but also a super sweet prize package, which includes your choice of $60 worth of gaming goodness from GameGavel, eBay, or Amazon, and an official RF Generation ringer T-shirt.  If you have any questions about the rules for the contest and want to join (it's not too late), you can find more information here: http://www.rfgeneration.c...ons-Contest-2016-3286.php

Also, a BIG shoutout to our staff of approvers who have taken careful efforts to review all of these submissions.  Nice work gents, your time and commitment is certainly appreciated.

Thank you to all who have participated and good luck to all in the upcoming week!

Those of you old timers know that we have an annual tradition here at RF Generation that coincides with the anniversary of our site's creation. RF Generation is in it's 12th year of existence, and to celebrate, it's time for our annual PAIN YOURSELF WITH SUBMISSIONS contest. As all of you know, member submissions are what keeps this site going and ensures that we have the most up-to-date and best video game database on the Interwobz. To commemorate our anniversary, we hold an annual contest to see who can "contribute" the most to the site  during an allotted period of time (*see the description of contributions and points below).

So, here's how it works. From April 28th until June 8th, you try to make as many submissions as humanly possible. Our dedicated database staff will review the absurd amount of submissions and at the end of it all, one of you gets a super sweet prize package, which includes your choice of $60 worth of gaming goodness. Essentially, you win a shopping spree (not to exceed $60 and items have to be game related) on GameGavel, eBay, or Amazon, and we pick up the tab. Of course, you'll also be the coolest kid in town as you strut around in your new, official RF Generation Ringer T-shirt.

SEE OFFICIAL SUBMISSION TYPES AND RULES BELOW

Over the past two years, I've been fortunate enough to work with some great writers/people who have contributed greatly to the success of our site's front page.  It's a job that takes time and effort, and only pays with the occasional "nice article" and subsequent warm fuzzy.  With any job, there is turnover, people's job and family situations change, people begin or continue personal projects, and sometimes even burnout can set it.  As a volunteer position, it is typically the easier thing to let go of, so leaving is completely understandable and has always been on great terms.  I am very appreciative of those who have helped out in the past and only wish them the best of luck; your articles are still welcome here should any of you get the itch to write one.

With some recent turnover, I've been struggling a bit to provide content to our readership (though we still haven't missed a deadline) and have been putting much more free time than what I have into making sure our front page is a beacon that draws in potential members.  As a result, I am putting out a call to writers for anyone who might be interested in joining our staff.  Right now, I am looking to add one or two writers to take on one article each per month.  Though this may not sound like a lot, I can assure you that coming up with a topic each month and creating a good product is a little more time consuming and taxing than one might think. Our staff adheres to a strict (but flexible when needed) schedule and articles must be turned in on time so that they can be reviewed and set back to fix if there are any issues. Writers must also stick to site guidelines in terms of content; though are forums and personal blogs are pretty much a free-for-all, our front page is a direct reflection of our site and as so, strives to be informative and family-oriented.
