The ColecoVision Expansion Module #1 was released at around the same time as the ColecoVision console itself in 1982, and provides a way for ColecoVision owners to play almost all Atari 2600 games without switching to a different console. It is essentially a 2600 clone which is powered from the host console and passes through audio/video to the ColecoVision's RF output. However, it is not designed to be permanently fixed to the ColecoVision and must be removed for playing ColecoVision games.
