When the Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP was released in 2003, Nintendo created new packaging for the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. This variation features a platinum Game Boy Advance and a platinum Game Boy Advance SP on the packaging. The packaging has a paper back with the cable enclosed in a blister packaging on top of the paper back. Outside of a packaging change, including a packaging part number and UPC change, the model number (AGB-005) and Game Link Cable itself are unchanged.
