Hello all. This is my first post. I have been a gamer since way back in the day. Started with an Atari Pong set and went on from there. Had the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, CDX, PS1. I said had!!! I wish I still had that CDX, but oh well. I stumbled on this site a few weeks ago, broke out my old Atari and now I'm hooked. The Atari is the only survivor. I think it's great that it still works. It is the same one my folks got me back in the 70's. I plan on replacing all my other systems and games that I used to love to play. I have looked at everybody elses collections and I am impressed and inspired. I presently have an empty basement that I am going to fill. I hope to document my progress with pictures as well.  Thank You for letting me be a part of this community.

Cant wait to see what kind of stuff you find. Anything in particular that you plan to collect? 2600 stuff maybe? Hopefully you'll come across another CDX. They are a really neat system.

@Crabmaster2000: Ah, son a--

I wanted to be the first to reply to this blogger's first post!

You know, like how I was the first responder to that other guy's first entry?

I mean, what the hell, man!

Just for that, I might not even remotely consider checking out your next "unloved" selection!

Whattaya hafta say to that, huh?!

But seriously: I get a bit annoyed by those people who feel the need who brag about being the first to post a reply to a thread. Especially obnoxious are the ones who don't even respond to the topic the thread's topic; they just write, "FIRST!," and click the "post" button. Really, who gives two cr@p$ if you're the first responder? It's not like you're getting a prize or money for it...

Then there's those DBers who get really preachy and full of righteous indignation over other DBers' obnoxious posting habits-- hey, wait a minute...

@Zagnorch: THIRD!
Welcome to the site. Since you've got an Atari 2600, what's your favorite game for it?
Also, I would suggest following singlebanana's blog on Atari 2600 games. His latest blog entry is here:

Fourth!  Haha! Boo-ya!...sorry.

Welcome to the site!  Hope to see you chronicling your progression (regression?) in the future! Smiley

Welcome to the site and get ready to have some fun collecting.  If there are any fairly common Atari 2600 games that you are looking for, let me know.  I can typically get titles for $2 each at a local pawn shop and am always happy to help another Atari enthusiast out.  Enjoy your time at RFG and make the most of it.

It's always great to welcome a new collector Smiley

@Crabmaster2000:@Crabmaster2000:@Crabmaster2000:

Thank you for the warm welcome everybody. At first I am going to get anything that I can pick up cheap...LOL. I am going to focus on Atari at first, and then probably others. I want to see if I can find boxed systems and display those. It is starting to warm up here so yard sale season is set to start. I plan on hitting them hard this year in my search. My wife has told me that she runs into old video games all the time at yard sales, so I am going with her this year hoping I can score some finds.
