Hey guys! I am back! I am so sorry I was gone so long! Between working 2 jobs, going to school for my Doctorate full time, working on my certifications full time, and dealing with autoimmune issues, I was...well.. not able to get online much. I plan on adding new things once I am back into the swing of things!

Happy Black Friday and Belated Thanksgiving RFGeners - hope you were sufficiently stuffed with Turkey and Mom's old fashioned potatoes yesterday! Today, however, is chaos and maybe a few deals. Did any of you go shopping today? Did you find anything good? Maybe something for your secret santa buddy?
I personally had to work so I slept in until the boss called me and told me I had to come in Smiley.

The X-box brand turns 10 today! Hard to believe that it was 10 years ago that Microsoft made the plunge into the video game console market (competing with the Playstation 2 and the Dreamcast at the time). Thank you Microsoft for 10 great years of the X-box - here's to 10 more!

Valve has released information on it's recent security breech. In an article posted on "Opposable Thumbs" (Ars Technica's Gaming News Site), Valve admits to the hacking of it's popular gaming site "Steam". They go into enough detail to lead on that personal and credit card information has been compromised and that in a situation similar to the PSN incident, loyal users may have their personal information stolen.

The article also includes the letter that Valve sent out to it's users earlier this week advising them of the situation and warning them to "watch your credit card activity and statements closely". They are still investigating the incident, so at this time it not clear if anything actually was stolen, however, we are sure to hear more on this issue as Valve releases information.

It's almost Black Friday time! Which leads me to an interesting question today: have any of the stores in your area announced any good deals on video games? Does it seem like in your area that the focus is more on toys than video games? Post links if you have them!

Only a few days left until The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim releases. I know in my household there is excitement (and a bit of angst) about the release. You see, I know the game is probably going to be good - it looks pretty interesting. The issue is, so do the other people in the house. Mind you, there are 4 360 and 4 tvs for said 360s, for the 4 of us in the house, however, my roommate seems to think (and probably rightly so) that she is going to be a Skyrim widow for a while.
Many of you have heard of WoW widows - women who were ignored by their husbands who were religiously playing WoW. Now mind you, those marriages probably weren't going to work anyway if WoW broke them up - seriously, if you are happy in the marriage, you probably were playing the game together. In any case, many people are relating Skyrim to the whole WoW situation and the darn game hasn't come out yet. Which leads me to the question, how many of you play games with your significant other/spouse? Do you think that the people going on about the whole Skyrim Widow thing are blowing it out of propotion? What are you thoughts on the whole thing?

A quick blurb today reflecting on my Halloween - this Halloween, I learned a valuable lesson...real life physics are not always like game physics...

Let me start at the beginning. Halloween we had a movie viewing party, so, in the early afternoon my roommate and I went shopping for Halloween goodies at local stores. The local Spirit Halloween store was a bust, so we decided to go to Joanns to see if they had anything good. We found some good things, then went to leave.
Someone had so kindly decided to part their F250 truck next to us, in our spot! I could not back out without scraping the side of their car (and my husband's car at the same time). I decided to drive forward since there was no one in the spot ahead of me - but there was one major malfunction - both my roommate and I had forgotten about the parking stall concrete barrier in front of us. I went right over the first one (there were two - one for each side). I could not get back off the first one (darn you front wheel drive). So, we decided the best course of action was to go over the second one. Worked like a charm for the front wheels....the back wheels got caught on the first barrier...I had to give up and call my husband for help and he pushed while I hit the gas. This worked for the first barrier, but not the second. He got in while my roommate pushed and was able to gun it over the second one - success! The car was free...
However, I am reminded, oddly enough of the Ghostbusters video game - the second one on the NES. If only my husband's car could hop like the Ecto1!!!

Lesson learned.
