Becoming a more active member of RF, I submit to you my first blog entry.

As the new year approaches, I sit here looking at my collection and ponder. "What is my collection missing?" I think to myself. I've done this for the past 2 or 3 years, then I set a few goals for myself. Goals include adding certain numbers to certain systems as well as specific games that I'm targeting. Well this year I want to make a more formal project out of it. So here I will post my overall collection goals for the year 2010 and periodically update my progress (whether anyone reads or not). Ebay will not be used for any of this collecting.

GOAL #1: Reach 150 PlayStation (1) games.

I'm currently at 113 PlayStation games, so 37 will achieve this goal. Yearly sport games obviously don't count towards this goal as with any number related goals. Also, within those 37 titles I wish to add 5 or so Long Box PS games to my list.

Specific PlayStation (1) targets:
- Persona
- Clock Tower 2
- Final Fantasy VIII
- Resident Evil 2 (Dual Shock / Black Label)
- Resident Evil: Director's Cut (Greatest Hits)
- Twisted Metal (Long Box)
- Tomba
- Team Buddies
- The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

GOAL #2: Strengthen My PSP Collection.

My PSP collection is the weakest of my Sony consoles. I have a list of about 15+ PSP titles that I would like to add this year.

- Gran Turismo
- LittleBigPlanet
- Prinny
- Hammerin Heroes
- Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
- Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Star Ocean First Departure
- Star Ocean Second Evolution
- Loco Roco
- Loco Roco 2
- Patapon
- Jeanne D' Arc
- All the Monster Hunter Games

GOAL #3: Complete My Resident Evil (US Releases and Variants) Collection [PC excluded]

I have a a few PS1 variants left to obtain as well as the Dreamcast and Gamecube ports, and a few random variants here and there. I'll update later with a list.

GOAL #4: Complete Version of Earthbound.

I try for this every year and fail miserably without the help of ebay.

GOAL #5: Complete my US Metal Gear Solid Collection and begin working on my Japanese Metal Gear Solid Collection.

US MGS games needed are:

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (Greatest Hits, PS2)
The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (Red cover, Limited Edition, PS2)
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP)
Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel (PSP)
Metal Gear Solid 4: (Limited Edition, PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes (Players Choice, GC)

GOAL #6: Start A Sega CD Collection.

I'm not looking for any specific games (besides Snatcher). I would just like to start a collection for this console and hit about 20 games for it by the years end.

GOAL #7 (Final Goal): Obtain All US Capcom releases for the original Xbox.

This is my first real step towards a complete US Capcom collection. I've been buying Capcom games for all systems at random. I will continue to do that but I want to put most of my focus on one system. So I'll start with a rather easy system, the Xbox.

[UPDATE: Added a list of the Xbox games I need. If I'm missing any on this list please let me know.]
Auto Modellista
Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance
Capcom Classics Collection
Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2
Capcom Fighting Jam
Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO
Darkwatch
Dino Crisis 3
Final Fight: Streetwise
Genma Onimusha
Group S Challenge
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Pro Cast Sports Fishing
Steel Battalion
Steel Battalion: Line of Contact
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection

Well those are my goals. Hopefully I can reach most of these by years end. I feel that I might be reaching too high though. Updates will be up.

Sounds like some great goals. One question though: do you mean all PlayStation consoles in your first goal? Because FFXIII certainly isn't a PS1 title. Tongue

Thanks, I do mean just the PS1, that's a typo (which I will fix right now). I guess I just have FF13 on the brain.

@dom meatball: Hehe, no problem. I, too, am looking forward towards FF13 actually. Smiley

Good luck on the Sega CD Collection, it should be easy, since I'm now at 52 games and it took me a whole year to reach 38 games (and it would be easier on you because the games are considerably cheaper and more common on eBay US)

I'm loving the Metal Gear Solid goal. I was going to try for that one, but started to focus more on the N64 more. I'm almost to 60 unique carts now, which is quite a lot, considering that is almost my entire collection. Cheesy

@logical123:
Yeah, It's something that I've been indirectly chipping away at for the past year. Then I just realized that I'm only a couple games away from a complete US collection. Unfortunately it's mostly the expensive titles but it will be well worth it.
